So many people have been discussing activity tracking (not badge in and out) but what exactly does it entail? Surely it can't just be how many emails you send or read or the time spent on apps?
If I run a script or load a page and it takes, say, a minute, and I don't do anything else in that minute, is that a minute if inactivity?

Can anyone describe the stack rank process?
What does it look like, what metrics, and are managers given guidelines on HOW to order their direct reports?
Nurse Utilization Review interview
So the new gimmick for the UR nurses is to hire bedside nurses with no experience in casemanagememt or utilization review, skim over what is required for the job and lie to the individual about what is required. So 16 to 22 reviews, no lunches , a hurried break, stay overtime , listen to a psychotic manager who is only interested in the metrics so she can get a big bonus, hide your head under a rock and pretend you don’t see all the what could be considered frau:;(, work overtime and listen to everyone tell you your burned out in 6 months cause you don’t know how to be productive and organize your time and work for a fraction of what you make at other companies and hospitals.
Class action lawsuit for goals
For anyone with Humana that is held to certain metrics (which I'd imagine is all roles but I don't know), how many of you weren't even told of them until March-April (which has been typical for many years), then you have your mid year review a couple months later of course. Makes no sense. It's not been right for Humana to do that and ultimately grade us on the entire year when we do not even know the metrics we'll be held to until 2nd quarter. This has affected a lot of people's bonuses year to year, and has caused undue stress and pressure on people. I cannot even count how many of my peers have had stress, depression, nervous breakdowns etc. Now they are grading us differently for end of year this year, and I wonder how that will go. To be held to 95% and greater on metrics for the YEAR and not even know what they will be until 2nd quarter sure sounds like a calculated move. Class action?
Manager Comments
1 on 1 with my manager today and he made 2 comments:
Confirmed another round of US cuts the first week of December.
No input on who will be cut from the lower levels - higher execs making the decisions based on whatever metrics they see (which are usually garbage).
Enjoy Thanksgiving because you may get roasted that first week if December!
ATT is a Vast Wasteland
It will be run out of Dallas and India with very little talent. When things go wrong it will get fixed when it gets fixed. The just figure it out and do 5X more with 2X less will catch up with SBC Nougat Heads who haven't had a visionary thought in decades. The amount of fraud and theft that will originate in India will be immense. Dallas will simply be a giant call center like environment run by metrics and PowerPoints.
Metrics
Management is pushing for all metrics in various reports to look pristine. One project had a tasks at 100%, which was questioned as the project is most likely, with accurate reporting, in a red status. Response was that the initial jobs or tasks were ran. When it was pointed out that many of those items were incomplete still, the response was well we listed that on another sheet. Got it. Hiding the real results so the reports look good. Never mind that the overall project will fail.
Told today to close out a project that was marked as on hold. Asked why and how to track. Oh just note it yourself, maybe with a stick on note. Seriously was told that. Just wanted it gone so report looked nice. It would be karma if I am gone when this is resurrected, because that note will be gone as well as the project plan.
This place is a joke.
Riddle Of The Day - Why is Chevron's HSE Organization and HSE Metrics so bad?
I would love to get a few answers for the following riddle:
Why is Chevron's HSE Organization and HSE Metrics so bad?
The floor is yours to everyone including the ones that will say really bad things about this post.
Say it loud, say it proud, we’re number 875!
So Forbes also has a world’s best employers list too. And AT&T is 875 out of 900.
No more commentary needed at this point.

CFA's in Small Business
Dont count unless you have OT Opps attached to them? They are really trying to make it harder to meet metrics arnt they? Seems like a pre cursor for them to excuse you from your role since you didnt hit their "metrics".
If you haven’t already noticed…
Company is gearing up for more layoffs, this time for Stamford right around performance reviews next year.
If you haven’t already noticed the gates in the garage are now closed and they open at 4pm. They do this on purpose to make you scan your badge when you leave.
Leadership is also keeping tabs of your time (not everyone has been asked to do this).
So! Take the train if you can to work. Everyone scans in when they first enter. When you leave the turnstiles open automatically and they cannot get a timestamp when you left, only if you drive in and leave before 4pm.
We don’t have Columbus Day off, company is greedy with your time and should not be tracking you like this especially with all these reorgs happening.
PDC Results
Has anyone heard back about their PDC results? Selection meetings wrap up today, so results should be shared soon

Methodology and day-by-day breakdown is in comments.
Early October so far, additions exceeded layoff floor estimate.
Manager making treats to work harder!!
It's total nonsense. My manager reviewed my workload yesterday, and I've received 40 percent more work since we lost five members of our team. But he indicated I need to close my SR faster since we are under more secruinite and my metric doesn't match his standard. Wtf
I don’t see the point in working harder to improve our team metrics just so my manager can look better to his director.
I’m not putting in extra effort; where’s my pay raise? What’s the point when this company is laying off people? I’m just here to collect a paycheck until I find a new job.
My friends were let go despite being high performers, and I have no desire to go above and beyond for this organization. It really feels like a terrible company. Is the moral low in other team?
I told my manager I can only do what I can and there is nothing else for me to improve. He was not happy but who caresssss…
The constant threat of layoffs combined with shifting expectations is exhausting
I swear, one day your role is critical, and the next you’re suddenly behind on metrics no one properly explained. With layoffs always looming, it’s even more stressful to deal with. I don’t know how much longer I can take this and protect my mental health.
Product Management here is an absolute joke
Everyone is just obsessed with opening JIRA stories and tracking useless metrics all the time; there is no real work being done and just paper being pushed to show that something is being done
Business and stakeholders treat PMs like their servants ("you work for us, stop thinking and follow what we tell you to do"). Work on meaningless projects that leads to absolutely zero outcomes.
No wonder there are no good products or things coming out of here and the stock will trend to zero over time
