Downtown STL bldg Auction

Just read on a local news website that the 800 bldg downtown STL will be going up for auction next month (June). With all the RTO mandates it will be interesting to see if the bank will purchase the building not knowing whomever buys that building has different plans with that property that could potentially displace BOA altogether in that building. I hope not because I will WFH if that happens and not relocate to another location which I currently commute 2hrs already RT.

Laid off - should have known

Displacement call 9:15am on a Tuesday after payday for me. Got the IM (inconsistently meets) at end of 2025 for the first time. Had always gotten meets prior and no real reason for the review or what I did wrong. Simple explanation of “we expect more than we used to” brouhaha.. Also got the telltale “you have not met standards
Of using AI in the past month” email even though those supposed standards were only being tracked for my team starting May 1, and I had been using since mid April on a daily basis.
Half my team was eliminated. Well, half my U.S. team was eliminated, most with 15+ years with wf under their belts. Underperforming teammates in India had no layoffs. Writings on the wall folks. No one is safe as management doesn’t, and hasn’t cared for a long time. Pretty soon all work will come out of overseas locations with no quality checks being done. And AI isn’t at a place yet to replace the work of many specialists. CS doesn’t care though, as long as he gets himself and all his banking buds jobs and retirement packages while he still can.
Get out while you can. WF is now, atleast to me, considered the WF Titanic of companies. Sinking ship, not enough life boats for sustainability, and I foresee another audit/check of WF illegal workings, with a spotlight on good ole Uncle Charlie. That’s why he keeps hiring his cronies from past jobs and contacts, right? Feather their nests while he still can.
As soon as I can, I will also be switching banks to one I have faith in. And there will be no ties ever again to WF.

Grand Rapids Schools Propose Teacher Position Displacements

Grand Rapids Public Schools is considering displacing up to 47 teacher positions. This action is planned for the 2026-27 school year. The district aims to align staffing with declining student enrollment. Officials hope to eliminate open vacancies rather than lay off current employees. Teachers may need to transition to different school buildings.

PTO upon termination or Displacement

As we know, when you’ve been at Wells Fargo for 10 years, you get an additional 40 hours PTO… But they don’t give it to you at the start of the year but rather they spread it out over 12 months. If you’re let go or fired before the end of the year, how much of that 40 hours do you get … that is, would you get whatever is remaining or due to you from the separation date until the end of the year? In other words, do you that 40 hours PTO or only that much of it that has been given to you up to and ending on your separation date?

FCM Broken Promises + Buggy Fraud AI Release + Displacement Dates Changed + Metrics Lowered

FCRM/FCM remote OR employees were told by executive team, they would be displaced in October 2025, 4th quarter. That came around and they changed the date to the 1st quarter of 2026. Now into the 2nd quarter of 2026 with more empty promises and no displacement in sight. Prevent Ai not working as planned 😂 buggy program and they need to keep senior staff around to balance out the cascading CPH metrics. Also changed to IPH and lowered metrics because Fraud Agents are underperforming with a rushed Ai product.

Charter Shuts Appleton Spectrum Facility

Charter Communications is ending operations at a Spectrum facility. The facility's final day of operation is May 21. This action impacts 313 employees. The company submitted a worker displacement report. Work from Appleton will transfer to other U.S. centers.

Can we talk about the choke hold India and Indians have on the firm?

Pretty much the title. I know every group has their bad apples but seeing how many employees of other ethnicities (not even talking about white people here) have been disproportionality replaced by those from South Asian countries is absurd. Am I alone in thinking this?

Wells Fargo Employee dependent Scholarship

"Confirm eligibility as a dependent of a Wells Fargo employee with required employment status."

My child is applying. Deadline February 26th. If they are awarded this year, and I get displaced after they are awarded..how would that work? What if I'm displaced and then they are awarded, are they no longer eligible? (Unless I'm in my 60 day non-working employee period). I ask because I'm 99 percent sure my displacement will happen between March and June of this year. Thank you in advance.

Severance packages are being scaled back in favor of terminations

In 2026 WF is moving the cost of severance packages to the line of business. LOBs are not funded for this cost and will instead force terminations through low performance reviews. Displacements will be delayed as each LOB works through this process. This is so sad, many good people will be forced out due to 'low performance' who truly deserve a package.

Location Strategy

Apparently has been put on hold . I was initially informed that I would be released at the start of the second quarter. However, today I was informed that this decision has been reversed. While I am grateful to retain my position, I must admit that I was looking forward to the relief of not having the threat of displacement looming over me, and I would prefer to receive a severance package should they decide to terminate my employment. I am now concerned that I might receive an IM or one of those unnecessary RTO reports, which they could potentially use as justification for my dismissal. This marks the third occasion on which I have experienced a similar situation.

Bonus, Bonus, what will it be??....

Wow! Some concerned about bonus! Let me tell you, I was displaced on 9/30/25. I don't get a bonus. I don't get anything really. And to be clear, I thought like you OP! Yep, so some got laid off, but we are here doing all the work now. I guess that might have some basis, but I have to say, I've got NOTHING. And the job market SU-KS. Yes, those of us who've been cast off, we are not thinking bonus. We are thinking, how to provide for the family, how to put food on the table, how to pay the bills. I get your bonus concern. Can you get my survival concern?

AI - Winter is coming!

Artificial Intelligence is being promoted as the next great engine of prosperity. AT&T, like many others, insists that AI will be a job creator, a force that opens new opportunities and drives innovation. But let’s be honest. If AI is as successful as its architects hope, it will never generate more jobs than it destroys.

The entire purpose of AI investment is efficiency. It is designed to automate, to optimize, to eliminate human error, and ultimately to eliminate human labor. If after billions in research and infrastructure AI does not eliminate millions of jobs, it will be judged a failure. That is the paradox. Success for AI means displacement on a scale society has never seen.

This is not alarmism. It is simple math. Every breakthrough in automation has reduced the need for human workers. AI is not just another tool. It is a general-purpose technology capable of replacing cognitive, creative, and managerial tasks once thought untouchable. When machines can write, analyze, negotiate, and even empathize, what remains for us?

The consequences go far beyond unemployment statistics. Work is not just a paycheck. It is the backbone of civil society. It structures our days, gives us purpose, and ties us to communities. Strip away meaningful employment for millions, and you do not just create economic instability. You unravel the social fabric itself.

If AI succeeds, we face a collapse of civil society:

  • Mass displacement of workers across industries, not only manufacturing but also white-collar and professional roles
  • Erosion of identity and purpose as people lose the roles that anchor them in society
  • Concentration of wealth and power as the benefits of AI accrue to a handful of corporations and investors
  • Political instability as inequality deepens and trust in institutions evaporates

We cannot afford to be lulled by glossy promises of “new jobs” or “reskilling.” History shows that the jobs created by automation are fewer, more specialized, and often inaccessible to those displaced. The scale of AI disruption will dwarf past industrial revolutions.

This is not a distant future. It is unfolding now. The urgency is real. If we do not confront the societal consequences head-on, we risk trading human dignity for technological progress. And that is not progress at all. It is collapse.

Incentive and displacement

How will those of us that have been displaced (October) be remembered for incentive allocations that are happening now (finalized in January)? Will leaders just need to remember us that have been displaced or is there an organized process perhaps led by HR to advise managers so they don't forget us?? I was a top performer.

Did anyone buy or lease the Orin?

Rumors from earlier this year… Is bnsf doing directional traffic on the coal loop? Did they run through Edgemont yet? Did they do anything with the Orin???

Every bit of industry has been changing this year. People are getting laid off or displaced to other locations. (Example… Union Pacific is wanting to make North Platte an away terminal).

IBM Tried To Replace Its Workforce With AI But Hired More People Instead

With companies like IBM laying off thousands —
Microsoft laid off 9,000, Amazon ousted 14,000,
Accenture about 11,000 — it might be time to
seriously consider the future of this
displacement.
We won't be holding our breath.

vSphere is under fire with new rising displacement software

I spent over 10 years in vSphere. Now that Broadcom bundled vSphere 9.0 and you can never buy alone, many alternatives are coming up. Proxmox is outdated. These guys are out of their mind.

But I am seeing a few players. Some are ex-vmware employees. It is very very very interesting to see one of them takeover vSphere in a few years.

Of course, the top enterprise customers are stuck but anyone less than 1000 servers should be an immediate target.

I am very looking forward to see vSphere displacement in action.

19,000 employees were kicked out due to greed and destruction.

Money not worth the stress and disruption

For those of you that are holding out to be displaced. You got to look at what the cost to yourself and your family is of staying there. The money even at the end of your long career is not going to be worth the time that you lose away from your loved ones. The leadership doesn't care if you were single parents they don't care if you have children they don't care if you have a loved one you're caring for they don't care if you have parents that you are monitoring. This is all stuff that can be done with you working at home and every now and then just checking on your kids your spouse your parents. But management has decided that is not important prioritize your life based on the most important things which is not your career.
