I always assumed layoffs came with a guaranteed cushion, which made them less scary for me. Yes, you lose your job but you get a decent safety net to get you through the unemployment stage. Then I found out severance is 100% discretionary and now I'm spending all my free time job-hunting while I still have a paycheck.
I was ‘laid off’ (UK) and had purchased travel insurance as a benefit. Is anyone able to provide details of the provider/group group policy number as having trouble locating.
Many Thanks.
Fifth Third Bancorp is implementing further workforce reductions following its acquisition of Comerica Bank. The bank will eliminate 234 positions at a former Comerica operations center. This latest action brings the total number of job cuts in Michigan to over 700. These layoffs are part of the ongoing restructuring efforts after the significant merger. The company is streamlining operations to integrate the acquired entity.

5-10) let’s hear who else is bad?
Layoffs in operations business banking. Processes being sent offshore to India. Curious if the end goal is to send all of operations there eventually.
Imagine if a bank decided not to compete on being less bad than everyone else.
Imagine if it looked at the industry and said, “Just because everyone is doing it doesn’t mean we have to.”
What if it stood by the remote employees who had already proven they could succeed instead of treating them like a problem to solve?
What if it expanded opportunities instead of restricting them?
What if people weren’t waking up every morning wondering if this was the year their role disappeared, their office closed, or their job was outsourced?
What if leadership understood that fear isn’t a culture. It’s just survival.
Imagine a workplace where employees felt trusted instead of monitored. Secure instead of disposable. Valued instead of interchangeable.
People who feel safe don’t spend their energy worrying about what’s coming next. They spend it solving problems, helping customers, mentoring coworkers, and finding better ways to work.
Loyalty isn’t created by reminding employees that another company is treating its people even worse.
It’s created by giving people a reason to stay when they have other options.
A company willing to break from the herd instead of following every industry trend could become known for something far more valuable than quarterly cost savings.
It could become known as the place where people actually wanted to build a career.
I wonder how different the future of banking could look if one company decided that leading the industry meant doing better, not just doing less harm.
Why BofA is hiring contractors in such huge numbers? Is it just usual business or something big is going to happen.
When do they run the workplace excellence reports? I thought it was supposed to be the first Sunday of every month (ex: June 7, July 5, August 2, September 6), but I noticed they ran it in June on June 3rd instead of June 7.
Great Southern Bank is implementing a multi-state workforce reduction. A WARN notice details 66 positions affected across four states. Missouri accounts for 45 of these job eliminations. This reduction includes closing nine bank locations permanently. Layoffs impact Kansas City metro and Springfield corporate headquarters.

For those who have gone through the Branch Manager Trainee program or had experience seeing someone else go through it, I’d love to hear your thoughts. It seems like a much more structured approach than the old model of hiring Branch Managers and essentially throwing them into the role. Has the trainee program been worth the extra time, or did you feel it delayed getting into your own branch? Was there a job placement as a branch manager after 6 months or longer?
I pull multiple reports a week and then take the data and put it in other reports and then send it to 8 people I've never heard of in my area and do it again the next day and the next day and everyday after until I die
Whats the fu--ing point of this. No one actually looks at the data.
Based on what I have read, Fiserv appears to be making significant staffing cuts, similar to those recently seen at FIS. Many of the employees affected held roles that are essential to keeping the global banking system stable and secure, including cybersecurity professionals who help prevent intrusions, developers and testers who review code and ensure systems function properly, and compliance personnel who help ensure regulatory requirements are met.
When these teams are reduced or stretched too thin, the risk of gaps in oversight, system reliability, and operational resilience increases. It raises serious questions about whether organizations like FIS would have the staffing, expertise, and capacity needed to respond quickly and effectively in the event of a major disruption, such as a natural disaster affecting a data center.
Overall, these developments have me concerned about the resilience of the banking infrastructure we all depend on. I would welcome greater scrutiny from auditors or regulators, because the combination of deep staffing cuts, rising operational complexity, and critical financial infrastructure could create vulnerabilities that may not become visible until a serious failure occurs.
post show up and deleted 1 min later? WOW
1) LFI moves out of PS into tech dev- core vs implementations
2) let go all core teams -what’s a core product?
3) acquired a new company to replace current product - but RIF
4) change operational structure to implementations to operate as the core teams would - LFI has clients therefore cannot act like agile core team
5) tech dev middle managers -are client billable and are lead BA’s but let go
6) other middle managers are driving staffing, operations, de-escalations, project kickoffs, etc- highly intelligent plan must be in place
D1 LFI moves out of professional services to tech dev- how is implementations part of tech dev?
They create value streams - which no one understands.
They act like implementations are core team and change everything to d1 teams to operate as such- do they know we have actual clients therefore cannot operate the same as a team developing core product.
Impacted teams IN every round of RIF yet client expectations increase.
Now they layoff tech dev middle managers - multiple that are 100% billable and are the lead BA’s on projects. The other few are driving LFI initiatives and making sure d1 implementations are staffed, operational, handle non stop client escalations.
Rounds and rounds of layoffs.. stock continues to fall..
CAN SOMEONE, ANYONE, make it make sense.
Im assuming there are a lot of knowledgeable individuals here who may be able to clarify this.
Can someone explain whether banks are legally required to comply with search warrants issued by a local police department in cases involving fraudulent wire transfers?
I recently had a fraudulent wire transfer claim with Bank of America that was denied. At the same time, I filed a police report with my local police department. In an effort to investigate and identify the suspect, the detective has issued multiple search warrants to the bank.
However, the bank has not responded to these warrants.
My question is: are banks required to comply with search warrants issued by local law enforcement, and if so, what typically happens when they do not respond or delay compliance?
Any insight would be appreciated.

Everyone is reading the Fiserv headline as a scare. The stock dipped seven percent before lunch.
I think they have it backwards.
A sitting payments and core technology CEO just got hired to run one of the ten largest banks in the country. And he plans to partner with his old company as a client.
When your former CEO becomes one of your most influential customers, that is not a crisis. That is the loudest endorsement money cannot buy.
I wrote up why the Mike Lyons to Truist move is actually good news for Fiserv, for the market, and for every community bank and credit union watching nervously this morning.
Full breakdown in The Butler Brief.

Who wants to submit them to the Guinness book of WR? How can you destroy 2 top 10 banks? Unreal!
Takis is probably one of the best known fintech talent. Grew JPM from 7 people to 15K people & 20 billion revenue run-rate. Probably the best we could hope for. Not sure why Mike Lyons got the CEO role in the first place — he clearly has no clue about the payment industry. He’s a banker…
Is everyone dealing with Sapience watching over everything you’re doing? Leadership is a joke now. RTO mandate is also terrible since the whole thing was about collaboration but the moment I leave my desk it shows I’m not working on the sapeince reports. Everyone in the office looks like they are in prison, su-ks how much this place changed because of Gunjan
He was working at PNC for 13 years. Any feedback about him, good or bad? Comment of his work style? What might he be executing at Truist?
Also, why did he leave PNC after such a long time. Passed over for CEO role?
Thank you - a Truist employee
They hire another old banker from another bank. Really thinking outside of the box here….lol.
Does anyone know the amount or how the amount will be calculated for the settlement payout?

their layoff is definitely more aggressive .

Job market is terrible now
This situation is deeply disheartening. I have not encountered a single employee here who is genuinely happy with their working conditions. What is even more concerning is the complete lack of external coverage or awareness regarding what the staff is going through.
While no job is perfect, it is demoralizing to realize that we are all unhappy, yet nothing changes. Instead, we just face increased pressure that makes us feel entirely disposable. I truly hope this workplace can organize and unionize in the future so that employees have better protections and receive a fair severance package if they are let go.
The bank needs to rapidly increase Ai investment to stay relevant.
Excessive DNS traffic overwhelming infrastructure limits
I received two separate payments today. One appears to be my regular paycheck, and the other shows a gross amount of $500 with a net payment of $150.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Could this be a payroll error, a bonus, or some type of adjustment? I’m planning to contact payroll, but I was curious if anyone has seen this before.
Big changes in merrill banking. Word on the street is no more banking quotas monthly for 2026. The new scorecard is radically different suggesting concern over the pressure to open more and more and more accounts. Now the bankers are judged solely on risk and accuracy.
Looks like some freedom fighter took the charge to the Bull, and a RIGHT hook from the disgruntled base connected
Does anyone understand what’s changing? I don’t get it…….
Fifth Third Bancorp will close 75 Michigan locations. This action follows the company's acquisition of Comerica. Layoffs are expected, but the company prioritizes moving staff to other roles. The closures and brand transition are scheduled for Labor Day weekend. An earlier notice indicated 502 layoffs at a separate Comerica campus.
