Deal Desk (Deal Management..etc)

Wow. After seeing all the layoffs over the years, you’d think I’d have been prepped for this. But no. Over a decade of working 80 hour weeks at times, late nights, weekends during Q-end. Missing weddings, events, time with family. To having my literal career here be laid off in a 5 minute phone call—and a rushed and cold one at that—is mind blowing. Less than a few mins after the call, my laptop was shut down, everything disconnected. The conversation was clearly scripted and completely impersonal. To tell someone they’re losing a job they’ve held for so long, they’re losing their pay and benefits in 14 days and show no compassion or empathy is just wild. What’s worse? Even my own direct manager had no idea. Talk about lack of transparency. Zero appreciation. Everyone is a number here at this company.

Why would anyone want to work here?

Oh right, because there aren’t that many different options out there. They’ve cornered us into putting up with absurd levels of bullying, pressure, overtime, and exhaustion, while the only payoff is the chance we might get to keep our jobs. Just might. This is a sc--wed-up system, and State Farm has turned it into an art form.

It”s Bad

Layoffs have been happening in small batches. Ford Credit customer service got hit hard this week. you could not get a breath between calls till Friday and that was only because they kept asking for voluntary overtime from employees. Also other depts that we transfer calls to must have gotten cut again because their estimated wait time to answer a call went through the roof. Most of our reps are in Mexico now anyway and Panama for Loss Prevention, etc. I believe Monday Sept. 8th is going to be another firing day. We asked team leaders what was going on since we knew that many people would not be on vacation at the same time, scheduling won’t allow it. All TL did was stutter some stupid answer, not really an answer. I noticed a few of my over 25 year co workers in customer service disappeared starting Monday, August 25th

Sorry to you all

I don’t work there, but I’ve watched what this place has done to my sister. She’s given them everything—early mornings, late nights, weekends, endless events. And she’s not the only one. So many of you have sacrificed your time, your health, even your families, because you believed in being loyal and dedicated.

But what does this company give back? Not gratitude, not respect, not recognition. Instead, after draining people dry, they toss you out like you were nothing. It’s not a “thank you” for years of service—it’s a cold shove out the door.

We used to joke it was like a cult. Turns out we were right. A cult takes your energy, your devotion, your soul—and when you’re no longer useful, it discards you. That’s exactly what’s happening here.

To everyone getting laid off: you deserved better than this. And no matter what they try to make you believe, the failure is theirs—not yours.

Devs are sc--wed too

working overtime was a problem before private equity takeover.
But now it is a bigger problem. Without QEs, developer has to do job of two people in same timeframe while maintaining "high quality". This is a death knell because escalated issue, due to management incompetence, has to be fixed by overworked developers :-(
