Love my Sundays

I always love how the day starts out great. But then my boss gets into her email and starts firing away all sorts of directives and asks. I probably have a few more hours before this nonsense starts. Often wanting a response “ASAP”. Almost all isn’t urgent yet treated that way.

I’m on the clock at all times Monday thru Friday and basically get a Saturday off. This isn’t sustainable.

Anybody else’s boss “lead” in this glorious 2010 fashion? At least we sponsored the NBA Dunk contest, right “see you on the commute guy?? That changes everything.

Support at weekends and holidays

I work for one of their "customers" although that's not how they make us feel. Its almost like they are doing us a favor. It seems to me that whenever I need support for our streaming service, they are off on some holiday or another or just not available.

I think we should get a discount and only pay 5/7ths of the support costs as Friday and Saturday, when we need the most support, are pretty much unavailable.

AHHHH It's Friday 1 and done, time to go home.

Averaging over 8 hours for the first 4 days of the week. I subtract that from my Friday hours so I average only 40 hours for the week. Just about time to go. I love the new culture that Stank has created. Have a great weekend. Remember, the Masters is next week so be sure to get bring in your personal tablet to watch from your desk on Thursday!

Can my last day of work be on a Saturday?

If I don’t get laid off tomorrow (Tuesday 2/3) I will resign on bonus payout day 2/13. I have another job lined up but they are very flexible on start day. I need to give 30 days notice at WF, can my last day of work be Saturday 3/14? Or do I need to work until Monday 3/16?

It’s unlikely that I’ll be laid off tomorrow unfortunately.

Deal Desk (Deal Management..etc)

Wow. After seeing all the layoffs over the years, you’d think I’d have been prepped for this. But no. Over a decade of working 80 hour weeks at times, late nights, weekends during Q-end. Missing weddings, events, time with family. To having my literal career here be laid off in a 5 minute phone call—and a rushed and cold one at that—is mind blowing. Less than a few mins after the call, my laptop was shut down, everything disconnected. The conversation was clearly scripted and completely impersonal. To tell someone they’re losing a job they’ve held for so long, they’re losing their pay and benefits in 14 days and show no compassion or empathy is just wild. What’s worse? Even my own direct manager had no idea. Talk about lack of transparency. Zero appreciation. Everyone is a number here at this company.

Optum Utilization Review RNS getting Forced to work weekends

A new initiative being rolled out to meet 24hr deadline for Medicaid and DSNP TATs is for RNs in the state of issue to work weekends but our nurses that are out of states are not being forced to do so. You can not make 1/2 your team work weekends and holidays if the other half because of residency out of state conflicts with CMA guidelines. This is complete cr-p! How do you justify that??
