Any cuts?
And it starts again - June layoffs
The layoffs have started again. A colleague from marketing was let go today. Highly visible guy on social media as well.
Feeling less valued over time
I’ve been here long enough to see how decisions get made, and it doesn’t feel great at all. A small circle seems to have most of the influence, while everyone else just waits to see what changes next. I know no company is perfect, but I’d like to be... — read more
Do reviews affect the upcoming layoffs
Do year end reviews have any bearing on the upcoming layoffs ? Do direct managers have any input ? Is it all cost related ?
fast-tracking performance reviews
Heard from the India team that Muhi Majzoub was in India last week. In a meeting with employees and presence of HR, he basically dropped hints that layoffs are coming down the pipeline soon. Sounds like salary hikes are definitely getting delayed... — read more

AI first until it costs too much money
We are told we are an AI first company. Now we are being told not to use it too much as it's costing too much money!
heading down a familiar path
I genuinely want to understand what's going on with CDO. She regularly brings sales people to speak at her town halls, the CEO directs AI roadmap questions to her instead of the product engineering leader, and right before the new CEO takes over she... — read more
Why did the stock tank today?
Something had to be leaked. Huge drop.
Cost of living adjustments labeled as "merit increases" that are really layoffs
As we go into the annual review process, HR is always quick to point out that the employee evaluations have no direct correlation to the amount that an employee might get as a "merit" increase. I have two issues with this: When increases come... — read more
You'd think that after all these cuts, we'd be left with its strongest performers
Sadly, that's far from what happened here. The people who knew how to play politics, who knew how to hide during the bad times, they're the ones who mostly survived. Most of the people who actually knew how to lead, who had real skills and real... — read more
June or July 2026????
Does anyone have any idea when the next round will be, June or July 2026? Please don't assume we're back just because we're hiring. If you've followed the trend over the last few years, OpenText has often hired and then later laid off employees to... — read more
June 4 Announcement
Is a sale being announced tomorrow
No paycheck is worth this kind of stress
The constant manipulation by management just wears you down until you don't even recognize yourself anymore. Trust me, it's not worth it.
Next non-core unit sold?
With rumors of an announcement this week, anyone have info? Which product line is getting released?
Just bought calls on OTEX

Layoffs cancelled until 2027
Another business unit is being sold next week, can confirm this amount is enough to keep 9% of the WF until next year instead of terminating this July.
Very important news to share
We are returning to hiring and growth.
Where's the accountability?
They always have an excuse on earnings calls. Covid, Presidential elections, war, gas prices, etc. When will analysts call their bluff? They’re so far off from paying off their debt. If they don’t do sell offs, they will continue to cut expenses... — read more

Is there a plan here or are we making this up as we go?
I have been at Open Text for a while, and I still can't tell if leadership has any kind of long term strategy or if we are all just responding to whatever crisis popped up most recently. My previous employer had plenty of problems, but at least they... — read more

At least we have time to prepare for the next round
I know people hate the wait, but knowing something major is happening in July is much better than just coming into work one day and being served your walking papers.
We are hiring and returning to growth
The title says it all. It’s great to be an OTEXer and shareholder. Our customers should be pleased.
The morale is bleak with constant cuts
Do they not realize that happy workforce equals profits and unhappy one brings major drops in productivity? It's been proven again and again. What's their aim here? To keep making us more and more miserable until what? We quit? Is that what this is... — read more
