All true - Global real estate
Reports that Verizon leadership had denied mass closings are false. I work closely with Global Real Estate. We have stopped renewing some Retail leases about a year ago in preparation for mass closings. This will equate to about 2/3 stores per district being closed. Verizon wants out of the expensive in-person experience and move to AI. By 2030 all retail will be shifted to an app.
I wish everyone here the best.
I hate this !
Ugh today at DHK the rumors of layoffs are spreading again - that it’s going to be after the holidays in January. I don’t know if it’s true because people always talk a lot but last time the rumors were right.
If NYP did their job right and protected children and women from being as--ulted. I’m sure there would be no to fewer layoffs. God bless everyone in this time. We’re not just numbers we are people with real lives. Take care of each other and if anyone has more info keep us posted !
Enough with the fear mongering. Nothing is happening next week.

Industries Less Susceptible to Layoffs
I know this will be downvoted but I figured I’d post it because it may help someone.
Industries less susceptible to layoffs include healthcare, education, government, and essential services like food, utilities, and discount retail, as people need these services regardless of the economic climate. Other sectors like skilled trades and finance also tend to be more stable.
Healthcare
People need medical care during emergencies, chronic illnesses, and for regular check-ups, making it an essential service.
This includes a wide range of roles from doctors and nurses to administrative and support staff.
Education
Educational institutions, from K-12 to universities, are fundamental parts of society and need to be staffed.
Government
Federal government jobs and public safety roles like law enforcement are often more stable, as these services are always needed.
Essential Services
Food and Beverage: Consumers still need to buy food, and companies in this sector tend to perform well during downturns.
Utilities: Electricity, water, and gas are necessary services that people continue to use regardless of economic conditions.
Discount Retail: Consumers often switch to lower-cost stores during an economic slowdown.
Other Stable Industries
Skilled Trades: Essential trades like plumbing and electrical work are often in high demand because they address fundamental needs.
Finance: Roles in accounting, financial advising, and insurance are needed for tax compliance and financial risk management, even in a weak economy.
ETL layoffs to be announced in February
Been a faithful team member for 22 years and married to a corporate employee for 20 years. 800 to 1,000 ETLs will be layed off in February. The attrition will be focused in the GM areas, and the Senior Food and Beverage ETL role will be eliminated later in the spring of 2026. Tough times ahead, but these moves should help us stay competitive. Just praying my job isn't eliminated.
Support Through Action
As many of us are finding out this morning, today is the start. For those of us fortunate to stay, we should aim to actively support those who will be forced to leave. Please remember to help those impacted by supporting their search for new employment. You have networks and skill sets that will help.
20 % Management layoffs By Nov 21
Crazy that 20% is a huge number it’s just the first stage of the management layer layoffs .But I hear it’s not even across the board. Some groups will lose less of that whole 20 some will make up a huge percentage.Sounds like the wireless corporate stores are gonna get hit really hard. But if you survive this pre Holiday round you are probably good into the New year .Best of luck .Keep your options open
State Farm Jets
State Farm jet taking off right now from Bloomington airport. i wonder the high paid execs are scooting off to now? Too good to fly commercial.
Trolls
There’s been a huge uptick in troll posts the past 48 hours.
One poster uses the word “value” a whole bunch to oddly describe an unknown Verizon business segment.
Another keeps claiming huge moves, like Sampath being let go - which hasn’t been reported in any capacity.
Just remember, at this point the only thing we really know is that layoffs are coming and our new CEO seemingly pointed to the end of November (~Nov. 20th) as to when his new plan will be placed into motion. Everything else (% riffed, impacted workgroups, potential for VSP, etc.) is all hearsay.
Tread carefully, and know there are a large number of trolls running around getting a rise out of posting intentional misinformation…some of whom likely don’t even work for Verizon.
TI - Change Needed
What is it going to take from those left in the DFW area to say enough is enough? TI is a woke company that doesn't care about its employees and continues to sell out our jobs to India. Leaders in the company are DEI placements, especially IT, and there is no end in sight. We need change! We need to take back our company! Should we start a Union? Stage a huge walk out from local TMG and IT? Any ideas on how to tell Krunali and Haviv that enough is enough and we will not lay down any longer!!!

Rumors of Verizon's Store Closures and
Layoffs Have Employees Worried
Rumors of Verizon store closures and layoffs are making the rounds. The Verizon layoffs this month could continue to heighten tech industry woes, leaving many to fend for themselves in an unstable job market. So
far, Verizon hasn’t confirmed major job cuts for the rest of 2025, butemployees continue to speculate about the possibilities.
Verizon’s rumored store closures and layoffs may take shape by Nov. 20,but the uncertainty among employees continues to mount as they clamor for updates.
Verizon Store Closures and Layoffs Expected: RumorsHave Employees on the Edge of Their SeatsVerizon is reportedly planning store closures around November 20, cutting
down on the number of its operations. Less profitable outlets are expected to be affected, indicating a direct effect on its employees, but.workers could also be laid off at the remaining open locations. The details
remain unconfirmed, with no updates on just how many stores and.employees could be affected by the change. The rumors suggest that, in addition to Verizon’s store closures and layoffs, the company may expand its AI automation services to address.gaps in its business resulting from the planned store closures. Rumors of.Verizon’s cost-cutting store closures and reorganizations of jobs have primarily emerged from platforms like Reddit and TheLayoffs, where employees have begun to consider the potential impact on their roles..Reports from platforms like The Street and Phone Arena have also begun
discussing the strategy..An email from the new CEO, Dan Schulman, last month also hinted at the possibility of change, speaking of “bold actions to make the company
leaner.” Such changes often include staff cuts, as we’ve seen from companies across the board this year.
Is AI to Blame for the Verizon Job Cuts Rumored in 2025?
Like most businesses, Verizon has also invested heavily in AI over the last
two years; however, it hasn’t yet made explicit changes to its headcount
as a result of this investment. A Verizon spokesperson reportedly told
TheStreet that its AI efforts were not part of a plan to reduce its workforce
numbers or linked to any layoff plans, but the rumors continue to mount.
Many suggest that the company could use AI to bridge any gaps in its
workforce following the Verizon store closures and layoffs, and this could
specifically affect customer service roles. There has been considerable
back-and-forth between businesses attempting to automate customer service with the technology,.and customers biting back, restating their preference for human
interactions over unempathetic AI services.
Verizon’s AI initiatives already include a business AI assistant and a similar AI shopping assistant, with its Project 624 services promising an improvement in quality across services. These innocuous uses of AI
showcase the myriad ways in which the technology has been employed across businesses, but most have come at the cost of some human labor.
The Lack of Information Has Employees Turning to Leaks onVerizon’s Workforce ReductionsOver the last few days, internal concerns and reports suggesting a
November 20 announcement date have employees looking online for information on what’s to come. Unfortunately for them, most of the chatter online is mere speculation, leaving them with very little concrete
information to go on. From questions about who is likely to get laid off first to others about the validity of employee benefits once employees are laid off, the stress and concern among workers are apparent.
While layoffs are difficult to conduct regardless of how well they are planned, such uncertainty is rarely healthy for an organization to allow. All.business decisions are rarely made after consulting and informing each employee, but the lack of any communication or intimation leaves workers
stressed, anxious, and unable to perform. Resentment towards supposed
DEI hires and anger about overseas operationshave escalated, and this rise of negative feelings is hard to undo, even
months after the layoffs are well and truly done.Verizon’s store closures and layoffs appear to be a.certainty as the company hasn’t explicitly denied the rumors, but matters might be more complex than these initial reports will have us believe.
The delays have left workers critical of everything from the company’s business model to the new.CEO’s ability to lead, and such chaos is rarely ideal for operations.
Whether Verizon confirms the major job cuts for 2025 or denies the.strategy remains to be seen, but for a business to be productive,
communication and transparency remain paramount.
6 to 7% layoff this quarter
I heard from a reliable source
11/12 Layoffs Thread
Yes, I know 11/12 is not a Tuesday but since 11/11 was a Holiday did the layoff for this week shift by one day?
Pine Gate Renewables closing and cutting 220 jobs amid Trump policies, bankruptcy
A leading solar energy development firm in North Carolina is closing its Asheville plant and laying off more than 78% of its workforce as it files for bankruptcy due to renewable energy policy changes under the Trump administration.

Layoffs definitely happening tomorrow?
If that’s the case, good luck to all of us.
Not paying Attention?!
"I fault myself for not paying more attention' is what CEO Ryan Lance told us is one of the reasons he has to cut 25% of the workforce. He was too focused on swallowing smaller rivals. Ryan Lance's was paid $23.12 million in 2024. $15.42 was a bonus. Wonder how much he will get in 2025 “for not paying attention”.
I’ve been looking hard for another job, and nothing
Sent out hundreds of resumes, reached out to everyone I know. Got one interview, and it went sideways. I just wanted to see what options are out there, to ease my mind ahead of the layoffs. Now I’m just more desperate.
Anyone here that would prefer to be laid off? Why?
I am 62 and I'd take the money and run. The math works for me and I just need healthcare. I've been working since I was 19, I am so done.
I sell fios union customer service rep
I know we are cooked! Managers said they not doing anymore obs. She said do what you want.
Band 8
I am thinking that Band 8 would be safe due to our low pay, would you agree?
I&O Layoffs
Do you think there will be an impact on I&O - if yes, how big and which groups.
