More B&N Layoffs

Our stores haven't been doing well. I think because food prices are so high and now gas has gone way up, people are cutting way back on non-essentials. I thought we'd be fine this year, but more layoffs are happening. I would suggest finding a more... — read more

I hope you're not waiting for another raise

If you still work at this dump, you know sales are in the dumpster. It won't be long until the doors are locked when you show up for your next shift. Just curious, does this sad excuse for a business still have any long-term su-kers, I mean, people... — read more

We're getting a second Barnes & Noble! :D

We've had one on the south side of town forever. But now we're getting one on the north side as well! Shopping traffic is surging there, and BN is obviously taking advantage of that. I intend to shop at both.

The day B&N showed its employees, competitors and the business world who they really were. Fired over 3000 employees and lied in press release that it was 1400. Managers knew before Christmas that it was going to happen They lost all credibility with... — read more

The WORST place to work?

I don't know why anyone would work for this company unless they need spare money and don't care about getting fired. And that's pretty much who gets hired now, B&N now loves people with little knowledge and do very little. If you want a real job with... — read more

Color me shocked

Since the latest changes, our store has been doing much better. I don't want to jinx anything, but I'm starting to be cautiously optimistic about the future. Giving reins to people from the community who like books might just turn out to be the thing... — read more

Can we stop opening new stores?

Honestly, we have so many stores that are in desperate need of fixing in more ways than one but instead of doing that we're opening new locations. Do we really need another store in the Philadelphia area when the existing ones are not doing so... — read more

Len left us.

Len abandoned us As did Steve. They knew the store was in trouble and they bailed. There were bad false unsubstantiated rumors that Len would return . Now. That will never happen. R.I.P. Len R.I.P. B&N

The stores in New England are a Mess!

How does this company keep going? I've been to 4 stores recently and they are like ghost towns, filthy dirty and hardly anyone around or buying anything. I've talked to employees and they are disgusted with management and said they're suprised... — read more

BARNES & NOBLE BANKRUPTCY LOOMING

B&N executives are panicking over record poor sales from the past two months. Plans to expand are now on hold as the company "restrategizes." Any thoughts?

Major layoffs coming!

Our store is expected to have major layoffs after cutting hours for part-time people. They should cut these do-nothing managers and losers in corporate!

BN will be here for a long time to come

People have been predicting its downfall for years. Just look at this page. I've been reading the older posts and as far as 2019 people were certain that the company would be liquidated before the end of that year. And yet, five years later, we're... — read more

Have things improved at all for regular employees?

I left B&N four years ago. I'm considering applying again since I do love working with books, but posts here are making me nervous. It looks like things have not improved at all since I left.

B&N STRUGGLES TO KEEP GOING

The Flagship

Unethical, cutthroat and disrespectful, the very definition of toxic, yet nothing is done. It’s like management does not care and wants this place to be as unpleasant as possible.
