Is it typical that the 90 day notice period (in NY) is non-working? Has anyone been asked to work that whole period?

I’ve worked here a little over two years and have seen a few people leave, but none of them mentioned getting a better offer to stay. At past jobs, managers sometimes tried to match pay or move people into a different role. I’m not sure if that’s something this place does. Since I was notified that my last day is June 5th, I have not been contacted by anyone. My immediate supervisor has not been contacted by anyone. He has never been told by anyone that I have been laid off. I find this to be absolutely ludicrous and completely ridiculous, but I have not heard from anyone regarding any closing process. Is there any kind of interview? Exit interview or anything? Is this normal for me not to have heard anything?

Anyone else hearing that there is a small layoff planned in the next 2-3 weeks?

I plan to resign soon and hope to leave on the same day or the following day. Although I know I am not legally required to provide two weeks notice, I would like to do so as a courtesy. Is there a specific phrase that could facilitate being sent home immediately upon offering two weeks' notice? For instance, would mentioning that I am joining a competitor work? I am looking for a dignified and graceful path to fulfill both objectives, ensuring no bridges are burned and no sour grapes.

Do layoffs work like trash days? When there is a holiday, trash pick-up comes a day later than the regular scheduled day. Monday was a holiday this week. Does that mean layoffs will be Friday, May 29 instead of Thursday, May 28?

When do you receive your severance ?

Refresh my memory, how many weeks we have to be in compliant with WPE before we get a warning notice. Is it 4 out of 5 weeks, 4 out of 6 weeks or 5 out of 6 weeks? And does anyone know what dates this time period starts?

For those laid off on 4/30, last day 5/14 was your final check smaller than usually? I believe they don’t pay for the final day so we received 72 hours instead of 80. Is this the case for other folks as well?
