This post is what this site is supposed to be about, not the whining RTO bs.
So I and R in the CWA district 6 area were offered a VSP to leave, they got offered an extra 50k to leave!
so far 4 guys from our garage took it but would like to hear what other areas have been offered!
you know what happens next less techs means less managers if not enough take the offer surplus is next!

@22s once again D&%Ba$$ they are NOT being replaced!!!
The I and R title is being done away with since we are also getting rid of copper!!
This is the reason for the offer to leave in that unit ONLY!!
Since we didn't have enough takers they did extend it to some DEG guys!
One more time R&T$%D Deg works on VRADS and RT which is copper!
Again why don't you use your grandkids to read this to you so you can understand it and shut your piehole!!!

enjoy it because the days of bargained extortion are numbered. H1B's and other international workers will put you losers back to the corners where you belong. Think of all the contingency planning that goes away when we don't have to worry about entitled wokies threatening to strike if they don't get their way. Think Stankey wants you around? You are a legacy problem that he's working to neuter.

Enjoy it while you can. H1Bs are like the AI of the physical labor market. Think I can't take a worker from the home depot parking lot and train him to climb a BTS? Or, maybe retrain one of my degreed developers from India and train her to splice fiber? They are the OG AI. Smart people program them to do repetitive tasks. It is not that complicated. Best part is that it is happening under your smug noses.

Answer this; these folks being offered $50k to leave, do we just not need them? Are you getting backfills? Clearly you guys can't be expected to do more work, I mean, c'mon, you're union! Who's gonna pick up the slack? Simple fact is that green cards are cheaper than CWA cards.

D9 here as well. There was an offer, but it was only 1 year + 25k, same one they offer every quarter. If the company were serious, they would sweeten the pot.

@dh you realized this is for technicians right? post is not about management Dumas its for bargained only!!
management will just have the door opened for them to get out!!
but union folk even if they get surplussed still get some parting money, in this case they are adding 50 grand to leave and its for district 6 in southwest areas!! so kiss our *$$

D9 here another VSB interest list email sent out. The difference in this one is at the top of the email it states Q22026 none of the many others ever identified the Quarter. I don't understand the animosity on this site. VSB has been offered in the past and will continue as long as it is in the contract and AT&T is consolidating. If you take the VSB and are Medicare eligible, do you have to immediately go on Medicare?

Technically, you are right . . . RTO = Return to Office. However, the current implementation of RTO also includes changing locations to other cities in other states with the hope the individual will not move. The intent is to force one to quit instead of a layoff with a payout.

It’s true. They are currently offering enhanced vsp in district 6. I see a lot of managers reporting to the nearest office a couple days a week sometimes 3 so I don’t see how that type of RTO is a layoff. Moving to Dallas yes that’s a layoff.

telcom is fin ished. no more growth for ever. It is not going to do anything but layo ff after lay off. until the the comapnies can make a profit. The long term dept is going overboard. The banks will not give any more loans. They are tapped out
