I’ve heard a lot about hiring and firing practices at this company. I’m trying to figure out which divisions are involved in these practices. I haven’t personally witnessed any layoffs, but I believe they are. I know of one division in particular that has experienced some performance-related separations. However, I don’t believe all the posts on this site are from that organization. Could everyone please post which division they are in and what they’ve observed?

@13t The guy that would shows up to the or-y with a bucket of fried chicken and use the grease as lube.
@10g Fartley looks like the kind of guy that doesn't mind sloppy seconds.
As we get sloppy 2nd's from SV, our recalls just keep coming. Seriously guys can we get someone to write decent backup camera software? I mean..you SV bro's wrote iPhone software right? One of the boy wonders had to have worked on a camera or two. Oh never mind. You had one of your degree milled credentialed indian scammer employees do that and here we are.
@mj Spot on. SV has contempt for the Big 3. The common SV sentiment is that only the dregs work at the Big 3. They sell tech that all the SV investors have passed on to the Big 3 as they view them as foolish with money and lacking the ability to evaluate tech.
Ford leadership still thinks the world revolves around Ford and everyone wants to work for them. Ergo they keep getting conned by SV flunkies. Churn baby churn.
This is more on point that people think. Think Ford stock options are attractive to these people? No, they just need to eat and SV is shedding people left and right. They're trying to get what they can and Ford is capitalizing on it but still having to grossly over pay these people.
Slow trickle still occurring. We lost a man this week. "Performance based", but we were all given knocks on our PRs per management directive.
It would be interesting to start a database for those let go that included age, s-x, race, current year PR as well as prior year, pay, and pension eligibility.
This is where you get all the silicone valley flunkies. They've been cycled through the system and Ford hired them thinking they were going to save the company for some reason. They wouldn't be working for Ford if they didn't have to. Ford doesn't have that kind of pull. It's the basic need for a paycheck in their case, not the prestige some of these people go after. Being recycled through the system has put them in survival mode and it really shows.
No major layoffs this year.
@aq No revenue coming in from Skunkworks or Model e that I have heard. But these organizations have the best opportunities for layoffs Ford has to offer.
None in Skunkworks or Model e that I have heard. But these organizations have the best talent Ford has to offer.
