Great Company - Actively helping you get out the door

This is a great place to work and has such a bright future ahead with Transformation well underway. It is so great, that we have had over 400+ employees quit on their own, so far. It is expected that at least 50% + of the Calgary campus will quit or leave in the near future. End result = lower cost of moving.

Not only does the company recognize it, but they embrace it! There is an ICN (former NAP) event coming soon, titled "Head Shots". For only $7.50, they will get a photographer to provide you with a professional Head Shot, perfect for an updated LinkedIn Profile so that you can look amazing as you browse for your future new Job (somewhere else...).

We are so effective in creating a toxic workplace that most people want to leave now if they haven't already... To sweeten the deal, they will help you "look" your best for that new job. The final cherry on top, they are so generous and now offering EARLY relocation options to Edmonton. So thoughtful and considerate.... Wonderful. Bravo.

New Imperial job postings in Calgary starting to go up

A bunch of new job postings just went up for Kearl roles in Calgary with requirement to move to Edmonton in 2028. This is to backfill the high number of roles that will be vacant due to high number of not mobiles/declines. This is just the beginning. Word on the street is around 25% of roles in Edmonton still haven't been accepted. This is the plan folks, fill all these roles with new hires.

The 25% vacancy are a result of certain departments/teams being way short on acceptances. Unfortunately for those who haven't got offers at this point, it likely means the company doesn't think you have the required skills for these vacant roles.

Existing site based non-wage positions are also affected.

From another thread:

900 Calgary campus employees gone. The remaining folks will be shipped to the manufacturing sites primarily Strathcona (Edmonton).

Some site folks (non wage) are to be replaced by higher performing folks from the Calgary move. Redundant positions especially in the mid to higher CLs at the sites to be replaced with Calgary folks that have been working global roles.

CNRL Yes or No

Generally speaking, most O&G companies are a mess. Changes to work from home; limited to no longer available, chaotic environments, and inconsistent leadership. I've worked at a few, and each one felt like its own kind of circus.

That said, what makes CNRL stand out (negatively) compared to peers like Cenovus or Suncor?

If you started at CNRL’s Calgary corporate office, what do you wish you’d known beforehand? Would you genuinely advise others to steer clear?
