They can send as many jobs as they want to cheaper countries, but they can't escape the low quality they'll be getting with it. They're walking out priceless institutional knowledge with these layoffs, and that decision will come back to bite them in the a-s, I guarantee you.

AI at Elevance has been oversold as a solution
Senior leaders take credit for functional processes along with their minions, but in reality there are a ton of manual touches, fixes and workarounds by the working class folks who have subject matter knowledge. They keep riffing the workers before they obtain the knowledge and try to turn on AI. But AI can’t compute because the fake “functional” processes that the Execs lie about don’t really exist. They should own their kluges and get to functioning documented processes first before attempting AI but they likely already said things were working and complete to get their big bonuses. Letters and benefit configuration are two examples where they wiped the team and lost the knowledge and are still paying the price, I think accums could be another. As always business will try to blame IT for not implementing requirements they never told them about. I think it would be more appropriate to say they have RIffed people for a promise of AI or a dream of AI, but the jury is still out. Peak will be very interesting!
Exactly what @15d+1k5hc5789 said.
Corporate bleeding people
At least 2 senior planners and several in the buying org quit this month.
I know of a half-dozen more interviewing, haha. They were warned this would happen with RTO and leadership decided to do layoffs anyway.
September 2025 Layoff Megathread (Friday)
Please have your inputs and observations on layoff situation on Friday (26th Sept) here.
Fridays were supposed to be happy days. This Friday is gloomy!
How big was (is) this?
Obviously they’re working around WARN in the U.S. but any idea? When Lehi was hit you could put info together from severance sheets. Wondering how concerned remaining employees should be. And investors.
Lost trust in TI Leadership
This is all disheartening. There are terrible managers who should’ve been let go, but instead hardworking and honest people are laid off. These decisions were made because of poor leadership to begin with, who holds managers and senior execs accountable?
Real story
Four Schwabbies get into a car. The car won’t start.
Director: We should reduce headcount.
Manager: It just needs a coaching memo.
HR: Have you tried asking it to start?
NSD: Let's all get out of the car and get back in.
Honest question about AI "related layoffs"
How much of it do you believe is real vs excuse vs intended for hype (or anything else you consider appropriate)?
Accenture Layoff - MD Level recent move on L1
Are there chances to be let go at MD level. Recently moved on L1 to the US. With the current visa situation and layoff news, seems a bit scary
Anyone down for a walkout? Town halls, Blue Pulse?
Hear me out… as I’m finishing my required mylearnings for showing empathy (let’s all laugh…) I got mad. This was terrible. People are calling it HCSC HUNGER GAMES WEEK. I’m sick to even be here still. How this was done was appalling. “It’s business”. Ok? And we’re people being treated like garbage and tossed aside overnight. I’m done. Next town hall, I’m registering and walking out. Next blue pulse survey? All 0’s with no comments. They want compliance, fine but it’s malicious compliance while I look for a new job.
So much for transparency, open communication and this great company vision. Apparently it’s only for the executives who make millions who don’t do a dang thing for us.
Layoffs yesterday
People got laid off today, and there was a flattening of the org.
Somebody posted this yesterday, is this true? We haven't heard anything, and I recon we would have if it was really a full reorg.
Leadership at Truist is a mess
This place feels like it’s stuck in the past. Half the leadership team seems completely unqualified, and most only got their roles through connections or because they cost less. And the result are layoffs, because that's the only thing incompetent leadership knows how to do. It’s wild how this is allowed to go on.
How are decimated teams supposed to continue functioning?
Some lost more than half of their teams. What are they supposed to do now?
Was this really necessary?
There's no hiring freeze. Shouldn't that be step one? We could stop hiring and let attrition do what it does best and reduce the headcount like that. But I guess they want it done quickly and they don't care how many good employees we lose in the process. Stupid is as stupid does.
When is the big one?
I'm sick of waiting. Get it over with already.
Is it over?
Is anything happening today?
9/26 Layoff only thread
I hear there's more today so: Title / org and location only.

Is this ever going to end?
Now I wish I hadn’t been so complacent and left this place long ago. Back when there were still real jobs out there…
Economy slowing in Texas and Florida!
Rumors have it that techs in Texas and Florida have really noticed a slow down in the economy. Making techs feel uncertain about their financial future. Does Texas and Florida have a NO LAYOFF CLAUSE like Californias MOA?
Is amd having layoff again. Why are all silent layoff
I think some kind of silent layoff and organizational changes are happening.
Disproportionately losing talent and veterans
Whoever makes it through, just imagine what things will look like once the dust settles. We’ve already been under immense pressure, and now it’ll be triple the workload without the most competent and reliable people. Makes me wonder if keeping the job is even something to feel relieved about.
Germany's Bosch to cut 13,000 jobs in blow to auto sector
German industrial giant Bosch said Thursday it would cut 13,000 jobs, mostly in its auto unit, in the latest blow for the country's ailing car sector.
The auto industry in Europe's biggest economy has been hammered by fierce competition in key market China, weak demand and a slower than expected shift to electric vehicles.
The cuts, all of which will take place in Germany, represent about 10 percent of Bosch's total workforce in the country, and three percent of its staff worldwide.

Collins Savannah Site
Has anyone heard of the layoffs at the Savannah Collins site? This site has been dying a slow death for the past two years.
HCSC is a disaster
300 layoffs. Not everybody at the same time. People that has been with the company for more than 10 years were let go just a few days before Open Enrollment. When staff in key positions are let go, it usually signals something beyond “normal turnover.” It could affect severance, morale, and how the remaining team should respond. HCSC is a disaster, and they are using the washington argument to do that. It is a lie! No communication at all.
@a7+1k60xsqgh said it perfectly.

Layoffs started in TI India
Looks like many folks leaving the campus
Elliot Group did this
Elliot is an activist vulture capitalist investment group. They buy company stock, bleed them dry and then move on like locust. They are the ones who ruined Southwest Airlines and canceled their longstanding "bags fly free" company policy.
They bought a large position of TI Stock in Spring 2024. They wrote a letter to the Board demanding that TI cut expenses and increase stock dividends. They have been pushing for a seat on the board, but have not gotten one yet. Shortly after the layoffs began and have become a quarterly occurrence.
An aggravating factor is that Chinese backed startups have poached our customers by underselling us. Demand for our biggest product lines have dropped in half, so the layoffs are becoming more intense.

70 layoffs in September
70 staff member laid off in late Sept. a lot of them through email! Absurd
Medicaid Layoffs
3 directors laid off in TX (to my knowledge.) What's the overall status, and what areas of Medicaid are to be affected? Executing layoffs during IL RFP is just a poor move.
Starbucks Announces Major Store Closures and Layoffs. I told you Starflunkies months ago to look for a news job
Starbucks is planning to eliminate 900 roles and close several underperforming stores by the end of the year, chairman and CEO Brian Niccol said on Thursday, Sept. 25.
Niccol, who became CEO of the coffee chain in September 2024, wrote in a note to employees that the two major changes are being made as part of its $1 billion “Back to Starbucks” restructuring plan.
Niccol said the company had reviewed its portfolio of stores and “identified coffeehouses where we’re unable to create the physical environment our customers and partners expect, or where we don’t see a path to financial performance, and these locations will be closed.”
Employees in the shops scheduled to close will be notified this week, and the company will work to offer transfers to nearby stores, and for those that can't be moved, severance packages will be offered, Niccol said.
He said the company will end the year with nearly 18,300 total Starbucks locations across the U.S. and Canada, and that there are plans to grow the number of coffeehouses in 2026.
More than 1,000 locations will also be renovated to “introduce greater texture, warmth, and layered design” over the next 12 months, Niccol added.
Starbucks did not provide the exact number of locations closing, but said the company’s overall company-operated count in North America will decline by about 1% in the fiscal year 2025 after accounting for both openings and closures.
In addition to the closures, Niccol said the company would be eliminating about 900 “non-retail” roles and closing “many open positions.” The affected employees will be notified on Friday, Sept. 26, and severance packages will be offered, he said.
This is the second round of layoffs under Niccol, after 1,100 corporate workers were let go in February.
“I know these decisions impact our partners and their families, and we did not make them lightly,” Niccol said. “I believe these steps are necessary to build a better, stronger, and more resilient Starbucks that deepens its impact on the world and creates more opportunities for our partners, suppliers, and the communities we serve.”
Starbucks Workers United, a union representing 12,000 baristas across 45 states, said in a news release it was sending a formal request for information to Starbucks about the closures.
“We expect to engage in effects bargaining for every impacted union store, as we have done elsewhere, so workers can be placed in another Starbucks store according to their preferences,” the statement reads. “Fixing what’s broken at Starbucks isn’t possible without centering the people who engage with the company’s customers day in and day out.”
Laid off and not sad
Tell me about the great new FTO policy and tell me to use my month of PTO right before you lay me off. You knew this was coming. Hope my small contribution to your balance sheet helps because it hurts me tremendously. What a low, low, awful thing to do to your (former) employees. Glad to be gone. Pay attention NetApp employees, they do not give a #$#@ about you or what you sacrifice.
Layoffs notices
Layoff notices are expected in the second week of October. From what I know, the most impacted groups will likely be directors, senior-level engineers, and the IT team. Employees who have been with the company for more than 8–10 years may be at higher risk.
Layoffs aren’t done
H2 sales will have its turn
WARN
Why was this not posted on WARN?
From the Illinois WARN site: Illinois WARN applies to employers with 75 or more full-time employees (excluding part-time workers) and requires employers to provide 60 days advance notice of pending plant closures or mass layoffs.
A “mass layoff” under Illinois WARN is a reduction in force at a single site of employment that is not the result of a “plant closing” and results in employment losses during any 30-day period (or, in some cases, during any 90-day period) of 25 or more full-time employees if they constitute one-third or more of full-time employees at the site, or 250 or more full-time employees.
This would seem to fit the description and require notice. Is HCSC non-compliant?
