I doubt there will be any major layoffs in 2026. They want to look good with the old CEO is leaving and the new joining. There are still remote employees around that did not let go. Some they did, wonder their justification?

Automation doesn't necessarily mean employee layoffs.
Lots of processes that would be targeted have already moved to vendors.
Reducing vendor expense is also a big attractive target.
I like your optimism, but I fear you are wrong. The new CEO will focus on automation and AI, because it's "cool", that means layoffs . However I wonder who is left to be actually layed off, I hope they don't overwork us to death to show some fake numbers to the investors.
it will be in any case a waste of time for sure, this company can't be optimized, the hundreds of inefficient and overlapping legacy systems are a never ending nightmare, the only solution would be for everything to be destroyed and rebuild from scratch. There is also a push to increase the business relentlessly without too much focus on quality... This was the main cause of Everest fall if I'm not wrong.
Meanwhile, If the company market value continue to shrink, Chubb will eat us without a sweat, to erase a direct competitor and fulfill Greenberg senior last wish, I bet it's the only thing that is keeping him alive at 100+ years.
