I'm trying to make sense of the mixed messages and bringing in another industry CIO like Paula Krantz in our current climate. The leadership of this company seems to burns money on shiny new hires but layoffs and hardly cost living raises are the table scraps fr the rest of us who put in the years building the backbone of the company. I know a couple people in another department who left for better pay at SSM and Express scripts. It is probably time to clean up the resume which is unfortunate.

Nordstrom Credit Bank
- Nordstrom
Clothing company Nordstrom will lay off 36 remote employees from its credit division, with the first termination phase beginning on Feb. 21, 2026, as the company transitions its credit operations from Nordstrom Credit Bank to TD Bank.
Nordstrom Credit Bank is located in Colorado but has remote employees in Arizona who will be laid off as part of the transition.
The Colorado location was not closing but would retain only a few employees after the transition, Laura Duve, of Nordstrom’s human resources team, wrote in a letter to the Arizona Department of Economic Security.
Evernorth Care Group Layoffs
Evernorth Care Group, a health-care provider, announced it would stop clinical care operations and sell its assets to HonorHealth. The sale will close in January, and will result in the closure of one location in Peoria and the transition of a clinic in Tempe to HonorHealth.
The moves will result in 143 layoffs that will occur Jan. 1, Matt Totterdale, senior vice president of Evernorth, said in a letter to the Arizona Department of Economic Security.

Tech cuts seem likely.
Consolidating the Tech leadership under a "sustainability" COO IN the same 2 weeks everyone is being told to hurry up and update their skills listing in Workday. The writing seems on the wall for another season of tech "reorganization".
Does this mean we're finally done fu--ing around with NFTs and trying to homebrew dead-end AI hype?
Talent Upleveling - Compounding Problem
One problem Nike has that doesn't get discussed enough is how they are so reluctant to promote people anymore. The promotions wave after this round of layoffs is hardly what it should have been when you stretch that over years of time that they froze nearly all promotions.
It's a self-defeating circle: do nothing to advance people, let them get TOO expert in their roles that they get bored, productivity suffers, now they have a case to lay you off because you deliver "poor quality work". Sure, not everyone gets a promotion, but we routinely see people complain on here about how few people ever got a promotion, and how many talented hard working people have left over the past 5 years.
Did any of these incompetent imbeciles ever stop and think about that spiral of enshittification? They must know this cycle is of their own making and is a key reason why talent that remains are in such a weird place.
Somnigroup proposes to buy Leggett & Platt
"Additionally, because Leggett & Platt's business is complementary to Somnigroup's
businesses, we would expect to not only retain most of Leggett & Platt's management team and employees, whose knowledge, experience and talent would be invaluable to the
Somnigroup organization, but also provide them future career opportunities in the broader Somnigroup organization. We also expect to retain a significant presence in Carthage."
Sure.

What CEOs say about AI and what they mean about layoffs and job cuts
While a minority of the layoffs discussed during third-quarter earnings were attributed to AI, the AI-related share increased notably through 2025, growing to just above 15% in the quarter. But more broadly, he highlighted that the companies discussing AI in the context of their workforce or layoffs “indeed appear to be pulling back disproportionately on hiring.”

SMB California layoff?
Did they just layoff a large portion of SMB management and senior management in California (or did they all just quit)? Anyone have details?
So which one are we supposed to fear? Dec or Jan/Feb?
I’ve heard so many different versions of what’s coming and when that I can barely keep track anymore. I know we’re in trouble. It would just be nice to know what’s ahead so we can at least try to prepare.
Barely recovering from being let go
I know it wasn’t about my performance, but it still stings. Whether you want it to or not, it makes you feel invalidated. And by all accounts, finding another job isn’t going to be easy. It just su-ks.
Getting of VMware
With the move to the cloud for all customers, will they get rid of all the VMware people ?
Is this how it will go down? Any other info?
Layoffs confirmed by a senior leader at my plant that has majority experience in the corporate offices. They said it will impact a lot of corporate positions & may also impact some field roles. They said it’ll happen end of this week early next so brace yourselves! They’re blaming it on the merge but we all know they’re out sourcing roles to Mexico etc
Came across this while scrolling through our board, checking for updates. OP: @b5+1kbdhf394

Corporates - Account Specialists
if you’re an account specialist in corporates you might be cooked 8/10. If you haven’t received your RIF notification already well you’re either safe or they’re coming for you too. I mean they’re eliminating directors, managers, and account specialists. So it doesn’t seem like anyone is spared. It seems like a lot of these people are being let go. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter - blur
Everyone in ISG Shanghai let go?
Saw an article that the full ISG team was let go

Intel layoff US engineer and invest in Malaysia. It is not more US than other companies.
Intel use “I am the only US semi” excuses to politically hammer/block other companies. It is politics and unfair competition.
Dan’s AI Pitch: The Outsourcing Edition....
After 15 years at Verizon leading AI initiatives, I was swept up in the latest RIF which was ironic, given that one of my current projects was highlighted in Dan’s recent AI pitch.
I began transitioning responsibilities to a senior colleague, only to be told today that I should now train a new hire in India. Same title as mine, brought on last week, fresh out of a 2021 graduation, yet his resume reads like he mentored Sam Altman. Apparently, “worked exclusively with US companies in India” is the new definition of deep experience.
When I asked my Sr. Director for clarity, the response was : “This is out of my hands. More org and budget changes coming soon.”
Translation: brace yourself, the outsourcing wave is just beginning.
Let’s be clear, Verizon isn’t cutting costs by hiring “cheap labor.” as I see some oblivious people saying, these contracts start at $40 an hour and can climb past $60, often padded with fantasy resumes. The difference is they’re remote, from small towns where overhead is low, while Verizon keeps cashing in here in the US.
So don’t fall for the AI fairy tales or the “Verizon values” slogans. The reality is simple:We U.S. employees are being replaced, while our politicians & news outlets are busy with nonsense and the greedy companies keeps pocketing the profits.
Why would they keep layoffs under wraps?
For once I don't think it's layoffs because they'd be happy to announce that given any opportunity. I'm not sure what it is instead though.
Can somebody explain this?
I noticed that some of the people who were laid off ended up with different end dates, and I'm confused about how that works or what the reason behind it might be.

So ridiculous, toxic environment, years of dei hires with no experience, culture is like working at a buss terminal. HR & Labor Relations work together to sc--w you and make this job uncomfortable. Dec 15 coming. Bloodbath next week?
Not sure if mgmt will attempt to bolster the Q4 results with more layoffs. The October 15-20% cuts will be included in Q4 but the goodwill reporting delays cannot be further delayed.

IA for those let go?
This month will there be IA for the 13,000 working through it ? Heard mixed messages
Investigations are a must!!
Someone needs to investigate Verizon and it's executives. There's no way they aren't hiding things that would get them thrown in prison. Stock manipulation, earnings manipulation, growth manipulation, taking bonuses while laying off employees, allowing outsourced calls centers to steal customers information to then be used by scammers (which we all know come mainly from overseas), ECT ECT. I'm sure the secrets they hide keep them up at night. Enough is enough!!!
Tanzoo
Dead yet? Wondering how long the leadership can rest and vest doing nothing but errands for Uncle Hock. Lord knows nothing engineering related could have happened after I left the funhouse of mirrors that is bcom.
