Termed after 3.5 years

Got termed despite 3+ years of good performance, two promotions over the years.  In an effort to "be transparent" I openly shared my concerns with the strategic direction of the company and decision making by senior leadership.  Yes I also shared that i was looking for new employment as many of you are I am sure with Blackbaud's tanking stock price. My termination was how they responded.

If any lesson is learned from this it's "DON'T be transparent" because this is where it gets you. And also, BB has eyes and are actively searching for people expressing any sort of dissatisfaction with Blackbaud. I will hopefully have a new job lined up soon but wanted to share this information as they offered a pitiful "two weeks" severance in lieu of my silence.
But don't worry AI will fix everything. Company is a sinking ship and would advise folks to get out while they can.

Low Balling Separation Packages?

My friend at HQ was just impacted. He was JG 16 and he said they wanted him to sign a "mutual" separation form. Then he could keep his Stock options, but get NO severance. He has 20+ years with the company - this is so crazy. So 3M is going cheap now? Does anyone else have more information on how 3M is now doing separation packages?

Xerox Severance Pay

Posting this info because I didn't see a definite answer on how much severance pay we will get if let go during the layoffs. My boss just told me that when the last layoff happened , and my coworker was let go from our department , he received TWO weeks pay for severance. He was with Xerox for about a year and a half to two years. SMH . Wishing everybody luck job hunting and getting the he-l out if this company !

Severance package on Sparq

Everyone should know what the severance package looks like for their grade level and years of service, as published in Sparq. For non-managers, you may be surprised by how few weeks are paid out. The severance package is unlikely to carry you until you find a new job. Use your floating holiday early in the year before using any PTO.

Unknown sources leaked that 2025 will be last year to give severance based on number of work years

"Laid off employees will receive the severance package as in the last cycle in calendar year 2025. Legally within the same calendar year terms of severance cannot be changed.

I also heard that after 5 December 2025, every employee who is laid off notices are given will receive a fixed 12 week severance regardless of seniority (meaning those notices going into effect in 2026). "

Has anyone else has insider information to verify or contradict this?

Severance

After years of top performance and multiple company awards, being labeled a ‘low performer’ during a severance call was surprising and discouraging. The lack of appreciation, combined with sudden goal increases and new write-up policies tied to severance eligibility, made the process feel more like pressure than professionalism.

Negotiating a better severance pkg?

I was doing some research on common severance situations using my AI of choice and it mentioned that some have been able to negotiate a better severance offer even up to the VSP levels? Anybody know is that really a thing? I didn't think we really had any leverage in this whole thing?

Severance package

Can you anyone advice about severance. I feel the package offered was very low or is it just like this?

Completed 1 year + week
Payout includes : 2 weeks of notice pay
3 weeks pay in lieu
CIP payout
RSU (not sure, if it will be vested, vesting date in mid-dec

Is it expected or can i negotiate and if so what should i ask?

Beware of the P.I.P! It's a trap!

Be aware that if your manager at L3Harris puts you on a PIP (Personal Improvement Plan) that they are planning to lay you off without a severance package.
You will make it through the designated time period, but there will be one caveat - they will be able to let you go at any time without any reason or justification.

Important Info : Severance Pay Calculation

I’m disappointed by severance estimate. Here’s how to get a high-level estimate using any AI tool, readymade script to use-
• Permanent employee at Imperial Oil, based at Quarry Park Office.
• Annual salary: $[X]
• Current role: [Your Role] in [Function/Department]
• Continuous service: [X years]
• Defined benefit plan: [1.5% / 2%], RRSP/401k match: [X%]
• Location: [City / Office]
• Performance Rank : [X/4]

Context to consider:
• Mass layoffs, office closures, relocation of remaining employees
• Local unemployment rate, industry outlook, company financial health
• Comprehensive benefits package

How to estimate severance:

1. Factor in years of service, age, position, rank, and contract terms
2. Add bonus, retirement contributions, benefits continuation
3. Adjust for industry and location context

All consider additional factors, past legal cases examples.
Estimate my severance pay.

No severence for you!

Management is pressuring to stop severence now only in rare cases. With the revised year end process, management is making it all about performance. If you are deemed partial or not meeting in any sense, you are subject to dismissal with no severence. It can be for anything. If a project fails and wasnt your fault, too bad. Guilty by association. Yes, they CAN get away with this. Goal is 20% reductions with no severence.
Something bigger is definitely afoot.

Something is wrong with the severance!

I am getting only 12 weeks of severance for 23 years of work. The 12 weeks basically add up to my salary for the remainder of the year. No f..king appreciation for my years of service! I am talking to a lawyer before signing this!

Medical and dental good until Halloween. No more contributions to HSA.

I thought I read we should get 2 weeks for every year. So I thought I should be getting 46 weeks of severance pay. Not 12 or 3 months!

I am definitely one upset former employee who feels completely disrespected and given no empathy from HCSC!

Disappointed in the way it was done

I read posts on LinkedIn from people who were with the company for 12, 18 and even 25 years who were laid off in this Aug 2025 RIF. Imagine working for a company for 25 years and then being cast aside like nothing with a sh---y pre-recorded 5 min call. The small severance amount is also insulting. I’m shocked by how all these loyal employees were treated.

Severance is insulting

If you were part of the layoff, you received 8 weeks of severance, unless you worked at F5 for 13 years or more. Eight weeks. For up to twelve years service. For a company that has had multiple back-to-back record setting quarters.

You're welcome, I guess, for creating product, over the years, that generated those revenues. For a company that claims to care for its employees (and in the past, actually did), this is more aligned with the Jelly of the Month Club.

Is this really the best they could do?
