The Belfast office to be hit with some layoff news at the end of June, maybe sooner.

Now comes the time where I’m challenged to “prove it in 30 different ways, name names and how you know with details all the while not revealing who you are”.

Believe me or not, don’t care either way.

Just curious about something

I saw the news about cuts today and it got me wondering. Back in 2022 when Cisco let me go, they gave 60 days in lieu pay, another 60 days severance, PTO cashed out, and four months of COBRA. Does anyone know if the packages are still similar now or have they changed over the years? Just curious how it compares.

How we work

If your EMG is talking about “how we work” and is having your leader write out each of your job duties and what it entails, that is the first step in deciding who gets their 60 days notice. Word of advice, make sure you let your leader know EVERYTHING you do, even if it seems small and non interesting, the more the better.

are layoffs effective immediate?

For the ones being affected by the LR, are they making it immediate, or did they give you a near future end date? i remember for some of the previous layofss they gave a long notice before the end date; also people from my team got layed off and they were around for 1-2 extra weeks

No more 60 days notice or severance

The new trend is to fire you for performance. Zero coaching or advance warning. Let say you are rated Meets. During mid-year, you will be surprised with IC or NI with no turnaround plan. It will be some minor issue too like failing to staple your TPS report. WFA is already planning this. It’s evil and they hope you don’t sue.
