Merit Increases Below the National Average

With the national average for merit increases being 3.2- 3.5%, the employees here are underpaid. This was once justifiable when there was work from home, benefits, and discounts on health insurance. However, with return to work now for people leaders... — read more

Don’t you dare go above and beyond at Elevance

I learned the hard way what a mistake that is. I busted my a-s, took on extra work, and for what? They promoted someone who barely does anything - right in front of me. It was a slap in the face. This place doesn’t reward effort, it punishes it. Do... — read more

This company is boring

Can't they get caught with their hand in the cookie jar, so we have some good stuff to complain about.

Knowing the date doesn't help much

It really doesn’t matter, we know the company has been doing rolling layoffs for years. Some hit big in certain areas or wipe out whole teams, some are smattering in random departments, others are due to losses of large contracts. It doesn’t matter... — read more

If the rumors about a full RTO mandate are true

just keep in mind that it’s not about collaboration, efficiency, or improved performance. It’s also not about oversight. Remote employees have been working just as hard as everyone else, and tracking their results hasn’t been any more difficult. This... — read more

Things will not improve

Things have been getting worse before they get worse for years. Complaining about it will help for a few minutes but it will not fix a broken system. Either find some joy in the work itself, or quietly build exit skills. Loyalty to a company that... — read more

Working in healthcare can be soul-ki-ling

I feel horrible every time I’m stuck trying to secure decent care for our clients and hit a wall. It really weighs on my conscience. I don’t know how the rest of you deal with it, but I’m having a hard time. Some colleagues say you just have to be... — read more

A 100 times this!

Why is it a big issue for these senior folks or HR execs to let people know ahead of time that a RIF is coming? It’s not that anyone on here know who or what department. It would be the most humane thing to do to have people prepare instead of living... — read more

Good Advice

I was laid off several months ago Looking back, I realized I had gotten too comfortable doing the same job at for years. Over time, I was pulled into so many unrelated projects that were far beyond the scope of my role. But in a strange way, that... — read more

Israel office

Do we still have an office in Israel? I remember working with a team there but haven’t heard anything lately and was wondering about them?

GBD Town Hall

Was there a town hall today? I thought I saw an email for it but missed it. Any insight? Seems pretty quiet

RTO

How does PTO work with RTO. Can you take all your in office days to count against it? Thinking about how to get to retirement in a few months.

The cycle continues

Another bright-eyed college grad canned before he even got a chance to get comfortable and figure out his job properly. It's the same story every time: no training, unrealistic expectations, then shocked Pikachu face when they struggle. And they keep... — read more

The duality of corporate life

Terrified of being laid off but equally terrified of not being laid off. At this point, I’d take the severance and run if they offered.

Recommendation by manager

Does anyone know if managers are not allowed by HR to give employees that they RIF’d a reference or recommendation? We are being told by (now former) direct manager that HR told them not to talk to us about anything at all and to direct us to HR and... — read more

6/26

Any people leaders here can confirm layoffs on 6/26? Also can anyone confirm a rumor that starting 9/1, all salaried employees RTO 3 times a week. Thanks in advance.

AMZN MSFT and ELV

Amazon and Microsoft announced big cuts today. RIFs are ongoing in ELV. Though not in the same league, all of these greedy corporations are big users of each-one-bees. How is this even allowed? With Trump rocking the Apple cart with major Medicaid... — read more

The worst state of mind is feeling cornered

Many of us are neck-deep in debt. We become almost irrational at the thought of losing our jobs, especially with all the bleak economic news and a saturated job market. I guess that’s exactly where they want us - living in fear, and therefore more... — read more

I don't care about RTO

It su-ks, I agree, but my bigger issue are the layoffs that just keep coming. I'll rather RTO and still have a job than be laid off and have to look for a job in the current job market that's one of the worst I've ever seen.

Is Moonlighting the reason for RTO?

Many companies now want their employees to be in the office. Even the ones which allowed WFH pre-covid. Is moonlighting the reason? Because of some greedy people vast majority got affected. Shocking to hear people working 3-4 jobs. They not only take... — read more
