I am new to this organization. Is mouse or activity tracking usual in a senior claims role?

the fact you are asking is WHY people are tracked. Just do your job as expected.
Now that I am over age 65, track away so I can be riffed and get an immediate payout of 6 months' salary and ride off into the Florida sunset. :)
@k8 I buy 50% of your post - to keep from logging back in? Seriously? Well known to many of us with connections in IT - it's been used for years for lots more than making a snack - plenty of other companies don't crawl up your azz to monitor your every move - IM you and withing seconds IM again - "hello are you there? " There is zero trust in this organization for associates - zero - and insecure leaders are getting deeper into micromanagement by the day if that is even possible
I’ve used a mouse jiggler for years. If I was working from home and, say, went to get a snack, use the bathroom, or get the mail, the jiggler would keep the screen alive so I wouldn’t have to log back in every time. I wasn’t trying to get away with anything, just making my life a bit easier. No one knew or said boo. So long as the work got done, that used to be what the company wanted from me. Yeah, it’s gotten to be a less joyful working environment as of late.
@d7 Fun fact. This was YEARS ago, but I know someone who was fired for sending di-k pics. FROM HIS WORK PHONE. The IT department was laughing about it, as they were privy to the pic, and the surrounding messaging.
I'm never thrilled to see someone lose their job, but come on now.
Yes.
I am someone working in IT.
But that is to ensure that employees are not doing something stupid like po-n etc and for litigations from that.
they have screen capture, in real time and past, call recording. key stroke counting, browser search -
@OP if you are in any type of production role, then you are being tracked. Claims uses WorkIQ.
Work IQ. Yes
you should assume they're tracking everything you do.
but for the record, the fact that you're new to the org and asking this is probably why they feel inclined to big brother us. are you seriously low-key asking if they are looking for mouse-jigglers?
