Too political

This site has become nothing what it was intended to be. Stop with the politics and your “ever so important” and “only you are right” views. It’s a board about employment and layoffs. Can we focus and stop being so childish please? Anyone?? What have you heard? Who should be concerned about their jobs etc…? That is what this is here for people. You’re filling it up with nonsense trying to cause political debates that will never be solved here. It’s not an outlet for your frustrations. Let’s be grown up professionals.

linkedin is unbearable

my whole feed is corporate kissing up, self-branding, and fake humility - omg everything is overboard for fu--s sake

“honored and humbled” has become the official language of humblebragging.

every post somehow thanks an “incredible team” while making sure everyone knows who the main character is.

and of course, no milestone is complete without pretending john doe personally changed your life...

Us Weekly Cuts Nearly Half Its Workforce

Us Weekly announced significant staff reductions. The company cut approximately half of its employees. This included the entire social media and español teams. Management cited weaker first-quarter performance as the reason. These layoffs reflect the challenging magazine industry landscape.

LinkedIn is so cringe nowadays

My entire feed, a-s kissing, self promotion, etc...

  • Humbled and honored to share that I’ve been recognized as a thought leader
  • Grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such an incredible, high-performing team
  • Still pinching myself after this amazing milestone - none of this would be possible without John Doe

Welcome home, Artemis II.

Welcome home, Artemis II.

Watching these astronauts travel more than 252,000 miles and return safely to Earth is a powerful reminder of what humans can achieve when we push beyond what’s known.

I’m proud of the role AT&T and FirstNet, Built with AT&T played—supporting NASA and helping keep teams and crew connected from launch through splashdown. When the connection matters, it has to be AT&T.

Congratulations to NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and welcome home to the crew. Your courage to go farther than any human has gone before inspires discovery, possibility, and the belief that when we aim higher, we can go farther—together.

Simply put: thank you.

Time to come out of the shadows

You have the right to join with coworkers to address conditions at work. You have the right to form, join, or assist a labor organization for collective bargaining purposes or work together with coworkers to improve terms and conditions of employment. This protection extends to certain work-related conversations on social media. For example, employees have a right to address work-related issues and share information about pay, benefits, and working conditions with coworkers on social media platforms like Facebook, X, YouTube, and others.
You can’t be fired, disciplined, demoted, or penalized in any way for engaging in these activities.

After this round of massive layoffs

It is more and more visible in social media that people get angry and there is also copy paste trend about data protection. People are massively pasting under their random posts on Lnkdn the text:

“Is there a firewall separating OH patient data from your defense and intelligence infrastructure? Yes or no?”
And nobody responds.

Can somebody explain me what is this rumour about?

EJ # 1 in client satisfaction?

The Almighty JD Power has blessed the firm today with the top spot. Jonesnet spouts confetti when you open it. Penny raves in an 8+ minute video. But my favorite part of the day was an email from KJ - our great ELT leader.

“To help us amplify and extend the reach of this important milestone, consider adding a comment that celebrates the moment and shows your pride on EJ’s LinkedIn, Facebook and/or Instagram posts. USE WARM, POSITIVE LANGUAGE THAT HIGHLIGHTS OUR COLLEAGUES, CULTURE, AND COMMUNITY IMPACT.”

Got that, Team?

Employee Postings on LinkedIn

What is going on with the continual stream of postings on LinkedIn with our executives at charity events, groundbreaking ceremonies for non-profits, opening of trading floors at a university, and Leaders Group members discussing risk, AI, and advertising their latest speaking engagement outside of the company?

In HR and IT, it seems to be the norm to promote yourself outside of the company. Our EVP of HR (not a real position in other energy companies) is attending events and putting himself front and center at the opening of a university trading floor. Why is he even there?! Should that not be an opportunity to promote our traders and the trading leadership? Instead, he is front and center.

This all started under M@rk and the selection of the current EVP of HR and EVP and Chief Digital and Admin Officer. They promote themselves externally on social media, share their travel plans to foreign destinations with their teams, and are clearly angling for more senior roles outside of the company.

Meanwhile, employees are losing their jobs and we being told we need to manage our own careers.

The culture at PSX has been broken and these two “leaders” are a big part of the problem. M@rk, wake up and do something about it.

From the NLRB about "Social media"

https://www.nlrb.gov/about-nlrb/rights-we-protect/the-law/employees/social-media-0

From the NLRB about "Social media"

"Whether or not you are represented by a union, federal law gives you the right to join together with coworkers to improve your lives at work - including joining together in cyberspace, such as on Facebook….

Using social media can be a form of protected concerted activity. You have the right to address work-related issues and share information about pay, benefits, and working conditions with coworkers on Facebook, YouTube, and other social media. But just individually griping about some aspect of work is not "concerted activity": what you say must have some relation to group action, or seek to initiate, induce, or prepare for group action, or bring a group complaint to the attention of management. Such activity is not protected if you say things about your employer that are egregiously offensive or knowingly and deliberately false, or if you publicly disparage your employer's products or services without relating your complaints to any labor controversy."

Friendly Reminder to Everyone Here

If you don't have any experience with pseudo anonymous forums online, just know that it's incredibly easy for literally one person to pose as multiple people to steer the narrative in any direction.

There are no IDs tied to individual posters or IP addresses here, so you don't even need to use different devices or a vpn to completely spam this forum.

People can and do pretend to be other people all the time, not just to troll but to try and warp reality to their perspective. Just something to keep in mind when you read posts here.

Is it the right way?

An walmart director posted like this in LinkedIn. Charging our culture.

If you know anyone impacted by the recent Amazon layoffs, my team at Walmart in Bentonville is hiring software engineers.

I’m an ex-Amazonian (AWS) and made the move a few years ago. We’re working on large-scale problems—platforms, AI, cloud architecture, and modernization efforts.
