This interview by Dan is

This new interview by Dan is the nuke. Feels like everything everyone will be impacted by the news from Dan. He is literally telling us major cuts in high volume will be the norm. Expect layoffs in perpetuity. Everyone in CS is vulnerable. No such thing as safe roles. This will create a lot of chatter in the company expect aggressive moves coming from the top

Buy our Cars and Trucks, just don’t drive them.

No fix available. Keep making your payments while driving a rental. So sad.

Ford is telling 4,653 Bronco Sport and Maverick owners to stop driving their vehicles immediately. The truck and SUV might have front lower control arm ball joints that were not assembled correctly. If they fail while the vehicle is being driven, drivers could lose steering control. This significantly increases the risk of a crash.

The recall impacts 2021 to 2026 models and Ford is advising owners to check online to see if their vehicle is included in the campaign. If it is, the vehicle will be towed to a dealership for inspection and repair. Some customers will also have the option of having their vehicle inspected at home via mobile service technicians.

The recall hasn’t been posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration yet, so details are limited. However, the automaker said “dealers will visually inspect the front lower control arm ball joint assembly on both the left and right sides, and repair, as necessary at no cost to the customer.”

It sounds like the automaker doesn’t have a fix at the moment as they noted repairs will be made at a “future date.” Ford also said “rentals are available at no cost” to owners of vehicles that fail the inspection.

Shooting outside US Bancorp Center Minneapolis

Really cool of the company to not alert us about two people being shot right outside the building this morning. Street blocked off, doors caution taped off, lobby crawling with police and not a peep from anyone at US Bank. We’re in the trenches trying to hit RTO goals.

The Day the Cows Did a Welfare Check

Remember when the cows wandered into EMHC last year and security didn’t even bother to send a fake “your safety matters” email? I’m convinced they went straight to Darren’s room, took one look at him, and were like, “Ah. You’ve got this ” and just left. Honestly, what else could their visit have been for.

Q2 Global Townhall Motivational Video

Anyone else take issue with the ‘motivational’ video shown at the last town hall?

Our CEO really woke up today and said, “You know what will inspire the team? Mike Tyson vs. Buster Douglas.”
So now all of us watched a heavyweight upset from 1990 like it’s a mandatory corporate TED Talk.
Nothing says “Q2 synergy” like a grainy VHS quality uppercut.

To be fair, the message was supposed to be about resilience, grit, and “getting back up when you’re knocked down.” But here’s the thing: Mike Tyson isn’t just a boxing legend — he’s also a man who was convicted of se-----y as--ulting a woman. That part matters. It’s not a footnote. It’s part of the real story, and it deserves acknowledgment, especially in a workplace where safety and respect for women aren’t optional values.
So yes, the Buster Douglas upset is iconic. Yes, the metaphor could have worked. But maybe — just maybe — there are motivational examples that don’t require HR to brace for impact.
In the meantime, if next week’s “inspirational clip” is from Tiger King, I’m calling out sick.

HR Leaders Must Address Layoff Safety Risks

Layoffs can create significant safety risks for organizations. HR professionals are uniquely positioned to identify early warning signs in distressed employees. These signs often mirror predictors of su----e, linking workplace safety and employee wellness. Effective collaboration between HR and security is crucial to prevent escalation. Careful planning and empathy during termination meetings can mitigate potential dangers.

Another homic--e 500' away from HQ. The executive silence on safety is deafening.

Crime-ridden Pittsburgh strikes again. This time a 19 yr old shot and ki-led less than 500 feet from headquarters. [https://www.cbsnews.com/pittsburgh/news/pittsburgh-man-shot-market-square-police-investigation/] And just like clockwork Bill and the execs are silent regarding employee safety in and around the buildings. Not surprised considering how they treated the RTO announcement. Just set it and forget it. Not to mention they are also incredibly silent about the cost of RTO. Remember folks RTO has nothing to do about collaboration and innovation, no, no, no, RTO is purely demanded to keep real estate numbers up. Don’t you get it folks. We are a disposable pawn used as leverage to keep over extended real estate purchases meaningful. I’m so thrilled to spend $5/gallon $38 parking, to commute 75 minutes to a highly distracting open office and take calls with people all across the nation and fake smile like I enjoy being here. Our team output is dropping like a rock. Lead dev left to go to a competitor. Team morale is slowing losing the battle. Our wallets are screaming. Our raises are comical (if you get a raise). Compensation is 15 years behind. I’m looking at stopping my 401K contributions just to afford the cost of living. What really pi---s us off is everything we did in office last week was no different from what we did while remote. But remember the real estate investments. If you ever wanted to see a real life example of shooting yourself in the foot, look no further. We are watching it play out and we have all summer ahead of us. Don’t forget the real estate investments and the CEO’s 30% comp increase. I hope this drop in production doesn’t hurt me and my team’s end of year reviews.

Sardine Offices While Hantavirus Arrives in Atlanta. What Could Go Wrong?

Three people are dead from a hantavirus outbreak on a cruise ship. Two infected patients are now in biocontainment at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Georgia residents who were already in the community after exposure are being monitored.

Officials say "no risk to the public."

We heard that before. In 2020. About something that ki-led millions.

Now look at where AT&T is forcing its employees to sit. Five days a week. No assigned seats. No dividers. No open air. Two feet between people in a sealed office with recirculated air. Badge tracked. Hour monitored. No flexibility. No exceptions.

This is what "market-based culture" looks like when a pathogen arrives in your city.

The Andes strain of hantavirus.... the one behind this outbreak.... is the only strain known to spread human to human. Scientists are still investigating exactly how it spread among cruise ship passengers in close quarters.

Close quarters. Recirculated air. No dividers. Sound familiar?

We've seen this movie before. We know how it ends. Take care of yourself.

Have EM employees finally had enough of this cr@p and exodus 3.0

LinkedIn is on fire for employees leaving EM. It’s not the 5year employees but the ‘after 20years I’ve decided to make the move’ employees. People who are vested in the betterment of EM but have had enough of the constant beatings, low morale and drive to the bottom. Imperial have had more than 300 people resign / leave and now are operating at minimum safe staffing, Australia is on its a@se, people are leaving us here at campus and not being replaced. Until the headline hits the bottom line, EM won’t care but safety will be impacted.

Hantavirus: BNY RTO Policies and Associate Concerns Over Workplace Protection

BNY keeps pushing RTO 4 days/week and open‑desk seating like nothing in the world has changed, while employees are left wondering whether leadership has even skimmed the latest CDC guidance on workplace exposure risks. The CDC may not mandate hantavirus controls, but it’s clear about best practices: identify and control rodent presence, seal workspaces, improve ventilation, use PPE when needed, and restrict work for exposed or symptomatic employees. OSHA’s general duty clause still applies — employers must provide a workplace free from recognized hazards. Rodent‑borne pathogens qualify.

Many employees in the Jersey City office in particular have reported concerns on this forum regarding concerns of rat infestation and control.

So here’s the question employees keep asking: Will BNY communicate anything at all? Will they adjust RTO, restrict open‑desk seating, or even acknowledge that shared workspaces increase exposure risks? Or will they continue the pattern — silence, spin, and “business as usual” — while employees shoulder the health risks?

With the recent cruise ship outbreak and the 2025 death of actor Gene Hackman's wife and dog, people are concerned and fearful, especially given current RTO policies.

BNY has a stewardship responsibility, not just a shareholder one. If state or local OSHA programs tighten requirements, the bank won’t be able to hide behind “CDC guidance is voluntary.” And even now, nothing stops BNY from adopting the CDC’s recommendations as a basic duty of care.

People aren’t asking for miracles. They’re asking for transparency, updated safety protocols, and a realistic assessment of whether RTO makes sense when exposure risks — viral or otherwise — are rising.

Until leadership addresses these concerns directly, employees are left to wonder whether workplace safety is a priority or just another line item to downplay.

JAX Campus

Anyone irritated and concerned that the Jacksonville campus is shutting down the parking garage for a good bit of time to pressure wash a practically new garage? Meanwhile, our whole state has a drought and terrible fires destroying our homes.. and we can’t water our grasp but once a week - yet the bank thinks it’s a good time to pressure wash a garage?

I don’t think that’s what they’re doing. I actually suspect that they are working on a sinkhole issue. I won’t park in that garage.. the campus has had sinkhole concerns for decades - and now the aquifer is dangerously low, so no thanks!

CTA Cuts Security Staff, Adopts New Safety Plan

The CTA is implementing a new security strategy for its transit system. The agency recently laid off 159 contracted security guards. These guards were employed through Monterrey Security. Funding previously allocated to these guards will now be directed to sworn officers and other security resources. This shift aims to enhance safety for both riders and staff.

The gem of the past bp cp

Morale at Cherry Point feels like it’s at a historic low. What was once considered a standout site in the Pacific Northwest, known for its strong culture and sense of family, feels very different today.

Many employees feel disconnected from leadership, and recent organizational changes have made the refinery feel unfamiliar to those who have been here for years. There’s a growing perception that leadership is not fully engaged with the workforce or the site’s legacy culture.

Recent safety concerns have only amplified these feelings. Employees want to feel heard, valued, and safe—and right now, there’s a noticeable gap between leadership decisions and workforce sentiment.

Cherry Point has always had the potential to be exceptional. The hope is that leadership will re-engage with the people on the ground and work to rebuild the trust and culture that once made this site so strong.

If you currently work here or have worked here recently, I’d be genuinely interested in hearing about your experience. Is this something others are seeing as well?

Pease Civilian Layoffs Prompt Air Safety Warnings

Civilian employees at Pease Air National Guard Base face job losses. The National Guard Bureau proposes cutting 10 personnel at Pease. This is part of a 10.7% reduction in its civilian workforce. How do we defend ourself from the crime ridden Pittsburgh streets?

Once again a large police presence on Stanwix street yesterday late afternoon when a wanted female was chased and apprehended on federal firearm charges along with charges related to carjacking, kidnapping and robbery. The streets around the PNC buildings are littered with crime, dr-gs and the mentally unstable. Just steps from the PNC headquarters on Wood St. is a large bus stop where I have personally witnessed fights and dr-g use. Plus the weekly uncapped used needles on the sidewalk. PNC's RTO message in January did not mention a single thing regarding the crime in the streets or the safety of the employees. So while the executives and Bill get executive protection what do we get? A 1.5% raise that will be eaten up by commute costs in just 6 weeks.
For context I have been remote for a few years and have not had to deal with daily crime of the Pittsburgh streets. I feel fortunate to have that option. Crime wasn't as bad when I was in the office.

Sure all big cities have their problems and this is nothing new for Pittsburgh. Unfortunately the city has only gotten worse. Don't get your hopes up because the NFL draft is coming to Pittsburgh and the city workers are attempting to make things look clean and inviting. Because as soon as the draft packs up those "nuisance problems" will be back.

So how do we defend ourself?

Union Pacific Cuts Green River Rail Repair Jobs

Union Pacific Railroad recently laid off multiple carmen in Green River. The company also closed its Green River repair shop for heavy repairs. Union Pacific stated these changes enhance freight fluidity across its network. Light repairs and inspections will continue at the Green River location. A former union director expressed serious safety concerns regarding these staffing reductions.

Union Pacific Layoffs Raise Wyoming Rail Safety Concerns

Union Pacific recently eliminated 17 carmen positions at its Green River station. This action is part of broader workforce reductions across the railroad industry. Former legislator Stan Blake warns that fewer human inspectors and more automation could increase train accidents. Railroad companies seek waivers to reduce human track inspections, citing technology benefits. However, labor groups argue automated systems cannot fully replace human detection of critical defects.

Ford's Sharonville plant

An Ohio Ford employee is dead after being trapped and crushed by a malfunctioning industrial machine at a company plant this week. The incident unfolded around 9:45 a.m. on Monday, when authorities were called to Ford’s Sharonville plant on E. Sharon Road regarding reports of an industrial accident, according to FOX 19. Upon arriving at the plant, authorities reportedly encountered a press machine that was undergoing routine maintenance when it malfunctioned, causing it to turn on and pin the worker.
