If the market makes a turn soon, do you think there will be Aetna layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Hoping for layoffs

Too many people left or have been laid off and even fired and nobody was hired to replace them, leaving all the work to the rest of us. I've been trying to find something else with no luck. being laid off is the only way for me to leave this place... — read more

Ohio ending Medicare and Medicaid lines

Interviewing with CVS AETNA

Currently interviewing at CVS Aetna and would appreciate any insight. What’s the culture like? Is it a supportive environment? Also, with the current job market, does it feel like a safe time to make a move or are more layoffs anticipated?

Layoff rumors

There's talk about more cuts next months. How worried should I be about it? Any chance somebody knows what's coming (or even better, not coming)?

Despicable

How low does a company have to stoop to lay people off just a week before Christmas? How little consideration must they have for their employees to pull something like that? It’s hard to fathom the lack of empathy or humanity behind such a decision... — read more

Bad news just ahead of holidays

164 reporting to Hartford HQ will be laid off. So sorry guys. I guess remotes will continue to be more in peril than the rest of us.

Chatter about another 5000 to be laid off

It's supposed to become effective at the beginning of January. Rumor has it that mostly our side will be affected. Does anyone know more? CVS is apparently moving towards significantly more contracting and offshoring. One can assume that not only... — read more

It seems to me we have been disproportionately targeted

Compared to CVS proper with this latest round of layoffs. At least that’s how it looks to me, I may be wrong. I’m also hearing that layoffs are still happening around here. Anecdotal evidence and individual cases is what I’m hearing but still. If you... — read more

Moved under a new director Friday

She quit. Now that I survived this layoff. I’ve been moved twice in 3 days. We have a bad business model, not a bad workforce. You don’t move a group after a layoff on Friday to a new VP, and then she announces her separation on Monday ... — read more

All the usual signs of bottom-line driven layoffs

Skilled and competent are being let go. People who have been here for a while and are ‘older’ (meaning approaching 50 or over) are being heavily impacted. Everybody who actually knows their stuff has been at a much higher risk of being impacted in... — read more

36 years at company.

My wife who gave most of her life to Aetna was let go in the recent layoff. She’s very intelligent and took her job seriously.it doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve done. Very sad.

Stress is the worst part

Hopefully, this will be done soon. My blood pressure is through the roof from having to deal with constant stress. I admire those who can deal with this like just another normal work-related thing, but I'm not built like that. I just need to be able... — read more

I wouldn’t mind to get caught in the net this time

I’m fed up with the health industry as a whole. I have been looking for jobs outside the industry, and once you move the boundaries, there actually are interesting opportunities. I don’t even mind reduced pay. I just badly need a change, and would... — read more

Nothing to see here

They put the announcement in a heartbeat article with no bells or whistles to get a readers attention. Usually when they come up with a new business plan we’d expect a mail from KL. Nothing directed me to this page. The only reason I knew was someone... — read more

I'm ready for it

For once, I'm prepared for layoffs. Considering everything that's been happening, for the last few months I've been working hard to put myself in the position that would soften the blow of being laid off to the maximum. I applied, I networked, I... — read more
