What's larger: -23% or +76%

Need a bit of math help here - What's larger: -23% or +76%?

For example, if one company grew in value about 76% and the other grew negative 23% in value, who grew more? To make it a bit easier, you chose some fixed time fame and let's keep it in the industry, so let's make tmobile be 76 and att be -23...

Finally, once I understand what's larger, I'd like to see which factors cause numbers to differ. For example, if tmobile has a hybrid WFH system, and att is having all employees come be in the office all the time, would someone analyzing the numbers difference, be able to establish some kind of correlation here.

thank you!

Oh this is going to be very bad for the Fidelity brand.

Nothing and I mean nothing scares ppl investing with any bank more than turmoil and unrest.
They are really pushing for massive layoffs done by silent workers being threatened long insane hours and excessive workloads.
They WANT this to happen. Jump ship get the he-l out let them sink like State Street did.
They deserve their misery gaslighting employees. Reneging on five years of hybrid.
Abby is cooked she’s lost her way they’re going for the big sell out why taking about 25% in the wake.
She wants insane type A hyped up employees or the massively linear Indian and African workers willing to do this workload for Pennie’s on the dollar to escape genocide or sepsis in the streets.
This is tectonic.

Two Faced EJ LinkedIn Post

Amidst the firm forcing HO associates back in 4x per week and removing flexibility for hours in-office, I’m seeing a new LinkedIn marketing push today from those at Edward Jones, targeting FAs. It includes a picture saying “Flexibility + work/life balance”, and the content says the following:

“High-intensity sales roles often demand relentless travel, long hours, and constant availability. It's no surprise that many top performers are seeking more flexibility-without losing meaningful work.
Advisors transitioning from sales value having control over their schedule, fewer reactive cycles, and more time to focus on client relationships-not constant hustle.
If you're looking for a career that gives you space to breathe while still challenging you, this might be the right move.”

I get what they’re going for, but it feels like salt in the wound as a HO associate. But hey, I guess according to DC we should be grateful to have our jobs, right?

Latest WPE Rumors

I hear from multiple sources an announcement will be made end of May, effective after Labor Day. Four days a week in the office if you have an assigned seat. You will have to attest to compliance with the policy. Three non-consecutive days in the office if you reserve your space. True? I guess time will tell. Just passing along some rumors hoping to compare notes with what others are hearing.

Farney is full of Blarney

Many of us who have been around for a minute remember how universally Tipsord wasn’t liked. Dude had the bedside manner of Dr House.

But many us held out hope that Farney would take us back to the old State Farm. The one Ed led. Farney is trying to make some legacy of AI and bad faith. With RICO charges pending in Oklahoma, a Congressional DOJ investigation led by Senator Hawley, and the botched California handling - how is our company worth what it is? You can’t get promoted unless you drink the kool-aid and now they expect if you live within 180 miles of the HUBs you can commute. The new hybrid is trash but dang imagine living in Tucson AZ and having to commute to Phoenix

Benefit Changes next year

Hope everyone is ready. VP here from LEGACY (not Heritage) TSYS... benefits will be changing next year. Expect changes with time off packages, 401K match, hybrid work (full RTO), and substantial increase in Healthcare costs. You heard it here first.

This company is a total mess. Precisely why I am included in the next RIF in July.

Personally they kind of waived this mandate to FT RTO

By being 6 years into this.
Some were hired as hybrid, and yes I know a company can change their business model whenever they want, but it also breeds bad faith and discontent. Many people were hired as hybrid or having spent 6 yrs wfh have built up an at home office. This maneuver shows zero respect for employees this late in the game.
And I think if/when another situation arises it may not work so well by the powers that be making these life altering decisions.
I sure hope they are sympathetic to employees if they need to be working from home if their kids are sick, on school vacation, doctor appts that don’t lend themselves to driving in and back twice there MUST be some flexibility. Seems to me all “US” companies like the visa payroll better and we’re about to see the ugliest side of globalization we’ve ever experienced coupled with the AI job ki-ling revolution

Good times. 🥵

Burned out and done pretending this makes sense

I’m exhausted. The commute, the cost, five days in a seat for work that still happens on a laptop and on calls with people who aren’t even here.

Let’s stop pretending this is improving anything. It’s not driving better results, it’s just draining people. Then leadership turns around and wonders why effort drops.

People aren’t checking out for no reason. They’re burned out from a system that makes zero sense.

This isn’t better for employees, and it’s not better for the company.

Roll it back to hybrid and start measuring output instead of presence.

Defeated, disappointed and everything in between

I live in a state that no longer has a hub, I cannot move, so I am unable to get a claims job, since claims is hybrid my job was approved for the exit program, almost 20 years with this company Im losing my job.. its a very odd feeling to be in this position as im sure it is with so many others. I was a very loyal employee and this is how my job ends. Its quite sad.. defeated doesnt even discribe how i feel...

RTO and IP tracking

Here’s what’s going on:
If you are hybrid, you need to be showing up in office for full days (6+ hours) 3+ days a week.
This is now in Workday as a goal.

3+ days, nothing new.

Why 6+, because that’s classified as a full day. This is due to people scanning then leaving. This is also due to people who should be in a hub but when their leader sits elsewhere, the employees end up working elsewhere. Like, while taking an undisclosed vacation somewhere.

I have personally witnessed the coffee badgers in office. Show up about noon, gone about 2:30.

That’s why they are implementing the full accountability. So yes, it’s true. Can we stop with all the rumor posts now?

Omnicom PR Agencies Relocate, Workforce Shrinks Post-Merger

Omnicom PR agencies and leadership moved to a new New York office. This relocation follows Omnicom's acquisition of Interpublic Group. The move aligns office space with hybrid work patterns and lease considerations. Staff layoffs occurred at OPR agencies in the past quarter. These workforce reductions continued into the first quarter

GENUINE QUESTION

I am supporting a team member with an accommodation to WFH due to a chronic illness. The likely balance will 50 percent in office and 50 percent at home. Totally genuine health condition, superb employee. In all seriousness, will this impact their job security?
All 'what job security ' type jokes not required.

Reconsider rolling back to Hybrid, the industry standard

Last week’s snow related remote work has shown what flexibility actually delivers. Without long commutes and constant office disruption, productivity increases, work gets completed faster, and people are willing to put in more time because they have the capacity to do so. That does not happen under a rigid five day office mandate.

Five days in the office adds cost and friction without measurable gains. Real collaboration can happen in two to three days when needed, which is already the market standard. For distributed teams, forced presence changes nothing except morale.

Talent has already responded. High performers with options have left. Those who remain are disengaging. The employee survey made this clear.

As a communications company, forcing presence while selling “work from anywhere” is a strategic contradiction. Remote work for office roles is inevitable. The only question is whether we lead or fall behind.

The Game

So far, I participated in two calls today. There were multiple presenters/speakers on each call. None of which were RTO including the majority of attendees for these two calls. I know these individuals & I am very familiar with the BU's. This RTO business sure is interesting. Lol

In Office

I overheard someone talking about how rto is going to change and it’ll be 2 days per week in office and up to the department(s) on which days you need to come in? Anyone know anything or know if this is something that’s going to be released?

1515 is Empty

So, I drag my a-s into the office every day since Jan 5. Yet since last Wednesday, the building has been pretty much dead. Yeah, there were people on every floor, but it's not full. I was on 27 today, and I spotted 4 people. 4!!

So, where are u and how busy is it? Has your boss told you to work from home again?
