I have a job alert set up for network engineering positions. This week and last week they’ve posted 4 or 5 in India. None in the US. Are they offshoring engineering???

MI Hide
Why can’t the offshore teams do the MI HIDE calls?
What is going on?
What is actually going on with this company???
So many people are being laid off. ICs are being thrown away. Teams are on very slim resources. Performance is degraded.
What are they trying to achieve? Are they planning to move everything to offshore?
Offshore is still your enemy.
I have seen team after team's work get stolen by ireland or India, and then those teams dismantled.
US employees, when your team starts interacting with ireland or india in anyway way, know that their goal is to acquire your work so that your job can be eliminated.
I saw 2 teams in rx last week that developed a system, and slowly brought in the Irish, those entire us teams were eliminated on Friday.
Do NOT cooperate with ireland at any cost. Don't respond to their emails, don't assist them, etc...
Contractor layoffs
Hello lovely people,
You guys probably dgaf about contractors but a lot of the contractors are being let go of, being replaced by offshore resources.
While I am really happy for the opportunity and hope this brings to the people offshore, I hope they are not overworked and expected to do as much as the onshore resources. Also, good luck to ACI and all the managers for future.
@aq it’s still posted I hit the archive button here it is again
Dear Mr. President,
I am reaching out to you today to share with you, my story. I work for The Cigna Group as a programmer. Last month Cigna decided to terminate 100's-1000's of our Doctors, Nurses and talented technology employees - Recently Cigna agreed to pay a 600-700M "charge" and has decided to terminate 7,000-15,500 full time employees and offshore their work investing heavily in a new "Hyderabad Innovation Hub" "HIH located in India. They think terminating and eliminating US workers to pay for David Cordani and Cigna's Executive leaderships poor decisions is acceptable.
Recently I have begun learning AI automation and wanted to share my idea how to protect America's work force from Outsourcing and offshoring our jobs to other countries. I think if you were to post draft of an Executive Order or a new article on TS saying my administration is reviewing options to create a new executive order protecting American Patriots work force, stating if Corporations like Cigna plan to move US workers "jobs" to India or other foreign counties they should plan on paying HUGE new tariff\tax or fee on the US healthcare data that originates in the US to be sent overseas. Expecting US Patriots to train the offshore company to "Transform, Manipulate, Re-Work" the data and then send it back to Cigna (or other corps in the US) to then send to their clients like the NFL, Disney and Amazon - they should plan on paying a new ridiculous amount of money to be allowed to do this. It's not just Cigna it's all corporations are doing this and if we do not take actions to stop it - I predict we will lose Half of the US jobs in the next 3-5 years. It's a Major Threat to the US economy and imagine if we lose half the current federal tax income and Social Security will fail. Imagine half of America unemployed with no work homeless living in the streets - a real AI generated "GREAT DEPRESSION" is on the horizon.
I am not saying it should be illegal for corporations to offshore, but I think if they want to use AI Agents Modules and Tools to replace the American work force, they should have to do it located in the US with either HB1 or US talent. If they move this work offshore to other countries to save money, they should have to pay a huge penalty to do it. I think even if you posted a message on TS that we are looking at that your words would stop companies like Cigna in their tracks from moving forward until they learned more from your administration's policies on it. I would like to see you propose an executive order like "The Great American AI Patriots Jobs Protection ACT" laying out how we are not going to let US corporations outsource Americas data to other countries to re-work it and send it back to the corporations to send to their US clients without penalties.
I would like to see you mention directly if David Cordani (CEO) Brian Evanko (CFO) Kari Stevens (HRVP) this this is a new business model they should sell the Cigna HQ in CT and relocate the HQ to India and stay there. David and the ETL team can sell all their mansions in Simsbury CT and go buy palaces in India.
Please really think this through as I think this will go down as a Major Accomplishment in your legacy and would help the Mid-terms in November and for decades to come in the future. Remembered as first President to protect America's work force from AI development. The day you put a stop to this and standing up to protect the US Patriot work force.
I posted my story TS under my ID "IQ120s" this morning, but the TS admins banned my account for "spamming" under the terms of service section "8".
You might be our only hope, the person with the power to stop this potential AI Great Depression on the horizon and being able to avoid it and save America's work force.

Town hall
Software/program that basically makes Ramesh sound like Bob? Not their exact words, but basically what they were getting at. What a slap in the face to our global partners also, if the language barrier is having such an impact on our business or you’re embarrassed that you hire offshore individuals maybe you should consider changing your business practices. SMH - how embarrassing
Offshore Expectations
A lot of you have probably faced issues working with offshore where they shirk tasks, overexaggerate their impact, and usually expect their American counterparts to pick up the slack they create. I spoke up about this during my manager 1:1 specifically about how tasks assigned to offshore ended up being done by onshore 60-75% of the time, BACKED UP WITH ACTUAL SCREENSHOTS FROM ACCESS LOGS AS PROOF THEY HAVEN'T BEEN THE ONES WORKING ON TICKETS. The response? "Well you get paid more than offshore so the expectations are a little different." WTF? The whole point of offshoring from the corporate suits perspective is to save money to get the same amount of work done. If they get let off the hook for subpar work quality AND quantity because they get paid less, then why not just keep the same American employees that were delivering more proportional to how much more they were getting paid, while avoiding the communication issue, work culture differences, and time zone barriers? The only thing keeping this company going despite pivoting towards people who get 1/5 of the work done for 1/4 of the price is the fact that the onshore side is willing to shoulder the extra burden because of the sh-t job market.
FIS Dev India: Many underestimate AI threat while happily working to make it happen…
“The technology sector faces perhaps the most dramatic transformation. Indian IT services firms, which built empires on providing entry-level coding and testing services, now face existential threats to their business models. When AI can write, debug, and test code autonomously, offshore staffing advantages evaporate.”
Expect less investment and a never-ending headcount decline.
Global partner
EXL is the global partner for offshore workers. Why does a company send large chunks of their work offshore?

They're going to offshore every job they possibly can
I just hope they don't try to slap the AI label on every barely believable justification. That excuse has become tired already.
Offshore VP laid off
Well, this is something new. Hearing about an offshore VP of Software Engineering getting laid off this week in CE.
Sad news for many employees from Montreal today
Many skilled and hard workers from Montreal were let go today. Very sad to see jobs moving to India.
so what's going offshore
seeing talk in several spaces about a department being offshored at the end of the year.
Anyone else tired of the offshore teams' incompetence?
I've been doing a lot of work with a MX City team lately, and they are just awful. They routinely just don't do what they're supposed to, and ignore questions during meetings. Their manager just says "they're shy" when asked about things, as if that's okay.
It's annoying enough that companies like TR are gutting the middle class by offshoring everything, but on top of that the lucky few of us who have not had our jobs offshored yet are apparently expected to work overtime to make up for the offshore team's ineptitude.
Obviously this is just one experience and team, but has anyone else seen this? Not sure if I've just gotten unlucky, or this is more of a widespread issue.
Ah yes, the offshore model. So efficient. So cheap.
Execution is offshore.
Accountability is onshore.
Answers are expected instantly — from US leaders — even when the work is “handled” elsewhere.
So if leadership asks a question and you don’t know because the team is offshore? That’s your problem. Which means US folks quietly become backup, escalation, translator, and babysitter… on top of their real jobs.
Meanwhile:
• India and Mexico are on holiday (again).
• US teams keep things moving (as usual).
• Offshore teams won’t engage unless you’re senior enough.
• And somehow there’s monthly travel to the US with no agenda, no outcomes, just vibes.
But don’t worry — it’s “saving money.”
No one seems to track:
• US leadership overhead
• Context switching and rework
• Travel costs
• Decision delays
If the US is still accountable, always on, and filling every gap…
are we actually saving money — or just calling it offshoring and hoping no one does the math?
Benefits of being offshore
Depending on the time of the workday and degree of swivel of your chair, you can be either:
Working on Gainwell systems
Pretend to be a Microsoft support engineer
or
IRS agent threatening to arrest someone
Just got an Email to Onboard a Person in India - New Offshore Team. How much time do I have ? I've been here 6.5 Years.

Labs on the auction block?
I beard today that we are planning to hand r&d to H1B and offshore. is it true that we are basically done with innovation? My director is always talking about moving people from tech rolls into account mgmt and sales. He says that being technical and bilingual will get me further that trying to create. Our shift is from innovation to implementation? That would explain so much of the cultural shift they've dropped on us. shame, id been looking for opportunity to work in labs since covid. I didn't spent 6 years in school to sell Ericcson junk.
Wayfair lay offs, offshore take over
Just got my email Im being let go after 4 years. Im so disgusted with what they are doing, they dont value anyone in customer service.
2026
Expect major layoffs this year. All the areas going through "transformation" like cfo, ops, and brand are planning to offshore roles or replace with AI. ETX was the test case before rollout to other areas.
They have reduction in US headcount as a goal for each area. Search deep enough on Sharepoint & OneDrive and the details can be found.
depletion
Just wondering how South N'Dola our greatest new offshore development is doing. Finally developed after first proposed as an extension to existing field 25 years ago. Was there any oil and pressure left after production from the north and did they find reservoir. Interested to see if there is any competence left in the company.
Genuine question…
Why are offshore folks so bad at using Git? Branch management and conflict resolution are always so awful on-shore folks in our team always put out fires caused by offshore folks.(lots of rebasing and cherry picks)
IT Service in Office?
The last few times I have contacted IT, It has been very obvious that they are at home. For instance, one guy was having a party at his house and angrily did everything he could to get me off the phone to return to that party. The last person to help, I could hear an actual rooster crowing in the background. I thought we built these overseas buildings and spent billions of dollars, why are they at home?
Same strategy, different year
Nothing’s changed. Offshore more work, thin out US teams, stack roles, and squeeze productivity. The direction of the new leadership is obvious - same ol' same ol'.
HCL and Xerox
Is Xerox planning on canceling the contract with HCL? Who does Lexmark contract with for offshore low cost labor?
Hypocrisy re: Avaya Gov Business while Eliminating US Jobs?
#Avaya took away our #jobs, moved them #offshore, then layed off several thousand US career employees, including our Veterans. I question Patrick Dennis on the obvious hipocrisy. US workers need protection from the corporate abuse of “ Employment at Will.”
Bravo. Well said. (See Comments)

New fear unlocked
Good luck with that. My manager is just writing people up to fire them with cause - and then replacing them with offshore labor.
Is this really happening?
Layoffs & Offshoring
Will layoffs affect offshoring in the context of it increasing or decreasing?
Why didn't Dan address the elephant in the room?
The offshore (lack of) customer service is a large factor why customers don't trust Verizon!
You can't talk about Verizon being risk adverse, hung up on processes, and not being the best with the network anymore etc etc without talking about the absolute poor customer service we give !
And I don't blame the vendor reps, it's not their fault they're not trained.
When is Verizon's leadership going to take responsibility for offshoring customer service??
Sabre Outage
As long as you offshore development and onshore cheap labor you are going to continue to have outages.
AI-related layoffs are anything but
It’s all offshoring. Or, in some cases, cutting roles that are just gone forever while dumping the workload on fewer and fewer people. I really wish they’d stop excusing profit-maximizing cuts and offshoring by slapping an AI label on everything. It feels like gaslighting at the highest level.
The Pinnacle!
Lost 1/2 the value
Created a seriously toxic environment
Off-shored Countless Jobs
Made a lot of bank
Fu---d this place up
Drove out the best of the best
Hired a bunch of mo--ns
Made a lot more of bank
Made like 3/4 of the people scared they will loose their jobs
Fu---d this place up, team! GO Fuchsia!
"The strategy is solid, the momentum is real and I’m fully committed to seeing this through until we name my successor" (help, get me out of here, stat! AAR please!)
Entire group was just told we have to offload more work to India, and hold their hands better.
Sounds like I'll get a long vacation at some point next year.
India workforce replacing domestic US
This has been going on for months now. Off shore India teams working during US workforce hours. The writings on the wall. Fiserv not supporting the US employees with this strategy. Good luck.
Forced Stack Ranking Question
Its an open secret now that there is a quota for performance ratings this year, similar to last. no 5s are allowed at all and there is a minimum number of 2s per team that must be allocated or senior leadership will draw names from a hat.
My question - Do any people leaders know if offshore team member's 2s count towards this quota? Our team is 18 offshore and 4 onshore. Would we be forced to lose another onshore person?
We used to have 9 onshore team members before this madness. any more onshore layoffs would mean we are on call and doing releases at night once every 3 weeks, which is insane. :( All the offshore folks are also at a university student level skill-wise, despite senior level titles, so they dont help with anything.
Layoffs coming to Oxy!!! Test the direction and resolve of new COO and refresh Oxy (people, culture, assets)
A few weeks ago thee question of layoffs was posed. The response was VH promised no Layoffs and we are lean and mean…
The street and influential groups think Oxy is stale and requires a rebrand both within its teams and its assets. A definition of what Oxy is and where it’s going.
We have since learned about VSPs, HR looking at Reservoir and Subsurface for poor performance, offshore competitors actively looking at non core offshore assets.
For those 6hat doubted about Layoffs and massive transformation what’s your new opinions?
Work culture change - anyone noticed?
Back in those days…
It was rare to get called over weekends..
We all had a fixed lunch time, time to start day and end day..
We rarely carried work home…
Work never felt stressful..
Whereas now..
Day starts very early, ends way late.. even sometimes have to work on weekends.
With offshore have to accommodate their time, their holidays and the then manage work.. stressful..
Have to communicate with offshore over crying children, noise of television, or honking noise.
With mobile and laptop we carry work with us all the time.
I feel this is due to the cultural differences between the massive foreigners in the workforce who do not follow the same holidays and are willing to work anywhere anytime and however much.
Nothing against foreigners and I am a liberal but still, there are several red flags here with corporate greed and SHE making 25 millions every year. Work life has changed drastically, my work life is almost over but I fear for what kind of America do my kids get to live in.
