Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Drinking on the job

Are many of you like me that often have several drinks throughout the day, and are even buzzed often? The constant threat of layoffs, the incompetence of the offshore people and management. Drinking has been my coping mechanism. Mainly wondering if I'm alone in this?

When I reach into my beverage fridge for a drink, it is a mental struggle somedays.. NOOO you will not consume the THC drink at work, NOOOO you will not drink beer or wine or open that bottle of champagne and make a mimosa. Instead, I have started to purchase the drinks that have magnesium in them instead, they are very calming. Maybe try that instead?

Well here is an inside tip. UHG employees are handled by employee teams . And guess what - the amount of dr-gs, alcohol in this corp. is huge. Of course no one talks about the impact to the employee during those casemanagement meeting but if your drinking a lot of the corp knows it, your coworkers, managers etc. So maybe you need to stop .

Please take a FMLA while you still have a job and get some treatment while you still have a job. I've been there, it's hard, but worth it.

I don’t drink on the job, but after work I am usually drunk. I hate it here. I am making less that I ever have in the past 8 years. I'm struggling to survive. I know I have a problem, but I cant even take off to take a bigger pay cut to try to resolve my drinking problems.

This is exactly how I became an alcoholic. I coped with toxicity in a negative way. I need help now and can’t seem to get it. It’s my fault. It started with all the corporate events with alcohol.
