Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Are there more layoffs coming?

I feel like I’m being micro managed and pocket watched to the point where I think I’m being pushed out. I also think my job is on the line and in the next couple years it’s either gonna be obsolete or outsourced offshore. For reference I’m in the client services dept. anyone else?

@OP I just read on the Warn Act that Cigna is listed and there are dates as well I'm not 100% sure if they are JE dates or not but why else would they have the dates ? They are

@OP Also in client services and feel the exact same way. It went from being a job I enjoyed to one I dread.

I'm sorry, it sounds like you're unhappy. I know the job market isn't great, but it is easier to get a job when you have a job. Please do start looking. If applicable, go to job fairs and networking live events if you haven't job searched in a while.

I have found that folks who have been employed for decades and/ or folks who have had their job since being recruited out of college can have the toughest time knowing how to search nowadays. Not a bad idea to call 311 to see about community resources for networking and job seeking exist (yes, even though you are employed). Take the PTO you need now to do this because you can't cash it out, just be careful if you are paid hourly that you don't "overuse" it.

Overall, there are better opportunities out there. I don't suggest paying for job search tools because there are plenty of free (both non-profit and government funded resources) that can help.

Bottom line: you don't have to work for a company that is costing you time, worry, and sleep. Check out what your transferable skills can get you if your job is industry-specific. There are competitors, vendors, and consultants who might value your skill set. I started looking late last year bc I could see the writing on the wall. Hang in there, get started, and once you have something lined up at a company Cigna has no ownership in whatsoever, you could actually benefit from being let go (severance pay will be extra $ for you this year).
