World Cup
are there any corporate suites or company ticket opportunities discounted for attending the world cup, of the cage match at 1600 Penn Ave, or the July 4th ticker tape in NYC, Charlotte or Frisco ?
Why is Nawani's team allowed to travel international
From London to New York on business class for frivolous reasons that achieves nothing substantial? Especially when Citi has laid off so many people? If this person is required to be in new York, why wasn't he made to relocate to let go and someone new York based found to fill the opposition?
Is it only a coincidence that this person has family in ny/NJ that he gets to meet on company dime when laid off people have struggled to find something new after being laid off, been on expensive insurance and many other struggles?
Why is Nawani and his team so special? They've barely achieved anything of note that isn't brittle as a house of cards that would fall apart when actual experts in data look into it rather than second or third line generalist that have made every decision for him on data products? And whatever was left was made by generalist consultants
What's with the free trip to Mexico?
I saw most of it on social media but the group who went kept it off LinkedIn, probably because they were told to. So many useless people who under perform got to go. Unbelievable.
Fake smiles for Exec visits
Adnan stopped by and boy was that a waste of money and time! Fake smiles and selfies for everyone. Your lack ofsupport is not made up by these stupid visits! We are told to save money but Adnan is not holding back in his expenses! Dinner and drinks for the leadership team that could pay a weeks salary. Tip to executives no need to visit us
Spirit Airlines Exit Disrupts Atlantic City Travel and Jobs
Spirit Airlines ceased operations at Atlantic City International Airport. The airline previously handled about 75% of flights there last year. This abrupt shutdown caused significant travel disruptions for passengers. Many travelers were left scrambling for alternative arrangements. The closure also resulted in some workers losing their jobs.

Senior Management : Are you really so blind and id--tic?
Your employees flaunt business travel and photos and activites in other countries clocking their miles and airline statuses, on LinkedIn.
All good, do you ever question the vakue of these business tourism trips? These are your leeches attending conferences foing to BTC and Munich and whatever to just ‘meet’ and ‘advise’
are you just id--ts to let it happen while others who work hard and dont travel and dont post on LinkedIn dont get noticed?

Oil Price, European Rationing, and WFH
Does anyone else think with the price of oil being pegged above $100 a barrel for the foreseeable future, ongoing bo----g campaigns of oil infrastructure, and Europe already rationing oil / encouraging as little travel as possible that we might see a softening on the four day RTO?
Wasting gas to drive into the office to call into a remote meeting doesn't make any sense.
Anybody else dealing with too high travel expectations?
When I joined two years ago, travel for my role was described as occasional, but in reality it turned out to be anything but and it keeps increasing. A lot of it is last-minute, which makes planning anything outside of work difficult. Maybe if I was single I wouldn't mind so much, but I have a wife and two kids and this has been messing with my family time significantly. Why do they have to lie when hiring?
Hotels
Anyone have any favorite hotel chain they like to stay at when traveling?
Corporate travelers-meal expense limits
Hi. Any PNC corporate travelers out there? What are the real meal expense limits? Is it truly $20 for breakfast, $0 for lunch, and $40 for dinner? Also, are the meal time windows strictly observed?
Thanks.
CMO in Melbourne - coincidence the F1 were there
the CMO has just put his story in L’In about special alignment sessions in AUSTRALIA - given the travel restrictions, how come he is there and what a coincidence the F1 was there.
I2B
With the amount of business fraud these agents do and the travel required for the role I don’t see how this position can survive much longer is it really profitable
Raise the bar Orlando Kickoff Trip
Who is ready to show, blow everyone senseless, and get laid off in 3 months? Just put that money towards our salaries.
Where is your groups exec team traveling to this week?
Some exotic location, while other resources get cut!
EC achieve anything?
So the EC schlep to Lexington this week, spending first class money we don’t have, having another day off work and away from clients. But did they actually achieve anything that could not have been done remotely (or even at all)? I no the answer is no but it would nice to be told I’m wrong
NIPAH VIRUS OUTBREAK
Why are we not hearing about this from CVX health & medical, particularly since there is so much travel to and from India in our employee and contractor population?
What is the company doing about curtailing or cancelling altogether travel? This is how it started with the previous pandemic, and this virus has a very high mortality rate.
Please respond, Chevron.

Next shoe to drop?
Why are company managers traveling to several remote locations this week and next? Are they preparing for more reductions or changes? PAC Northwest locations, Salt Lake, Tempe and Albuquerque sites are all bracing for quick turnaround meetings where leaders fly in for 2-3 hours, splash around, assess the morale and then fly out??? Seems strange in an era of cost savings. Who else is seeing this type of activity?
Layoffs at Expedia this week
Is there a way to know if cuts are done or if there'll be more?
Concur US Gov Contracts JG Email
Looks like "social posts" are targeting Concur employees due to SAP holding some gov contracts in the US. I'd love to know what these well-meaning and business astute patriots have to say about intricacies of travel booking and expense reporting.
and another thing........
When we book travel through DXC’s preferred system, we’re treated to a delightful spectrum of hotel options — everything from “character‑building budget charm” to “I could accidentally spend £1,500 this week and still not find the minibar.”
But the moment you try to claim sustenance expenses, the system suddenly becomes the strictest accountant in the Western Hemisphere. The £50 daily allowance is perfectly reasonable (unless you’re in a capital city, where £50 buys you a coffee and the right to smell someone else’s lunch). Yet submit a meal that’s even 1p over and the system reacts like you’ve attempted financial treason: flashing warnings, red alerts, and a polite suggestion to pay for your own dinner like a naughty schoolchild.
Personally, I rarely hit the daily limit — unless the hotel decides breakfast is an optional luxury, but that’s a separate therapy session. Still, if you’re away for seven nights, that’s £350 total. It would be far more sensible if we could use that flexibly. Some nights you might grab a McDonald’s for under a tenner, and on others you might want to try a decent independent restaurant, or just eat in the hotel without feeling like you’re committing an administrative crime.
Anyway… I realise these are very much first‑world problems. But still — mildly entertaining ones.
Leader Travel Expectations
HBA GPs will be expected to travel 50% and other HBA leaders will be expected to travel 25%.
Couple of thoughts...
Why are we trying to induce senior leaders to leave...I thought all the ER restructuring was supposed to address that?
This seems like a huge expense for the firm with a pretty ambiguous value add. Is it enough to offset the travel coats of $20k+ per year per leader? I'd rather have that hit my bonus.
Verizon Corporate Jets
Hi Guys, at a moment in time there were 6.
Do the company stills uses 3 ? I cannot track them on flight radar.
Think about how much they cost to operate
CES 2026
Looking forward to a table full of bluescreens at the CES 2026 exhibition in Las Vegas on January 5th. Anyone want to sell there car and split to cost of a hotel room?
Bangalore
$12,500 per business trip
$80 per hour bill rate
Porting # out and traveling
Pretty sure I’m getting the can. I’d like to port my number away from Verizon while I blow my severance money traveling the world. What carrier or mvno should I port to that would be cheap to travel with while being able to keep my number so I don’t miss any recruiter calls?
Waste not Want not - No worries, just layoff
So ADIPEC just wrapped up, and it seems we managed to send a lot of folks to Abu Dhabi to support. Wondering what the final price tag of that ended up being. Seems I saw on another company's page that they put a conservative number on a C-Suite attending at around 50K each (flights, lodging, logistics, incidentals, loss productivity while there). For Sr. Managers, it was near 35K, and for rank and file (non-business class flyers) it was in the area of 20K. Add all that up and it's crazy.
Know we need to be there, but it seems we send a lot of folks who use it more like a vacation and an opportunity to "team build" with the other managers.
No worries, just cut a couple of heads when you return to pay get the numbers where you need them to wrap up Q4 - no need for those folks to do any work.
All aside, consider the travel that is denied for your own team and than run some numbers on the cost to fly Houston to Abu Dhabi (business), stay at the Ritz or like (for ELT), logistics to move folks around, team dinners and the like and the work that has to be pushed back a week. It's not a small number, folks.
But we did win a couple of awards and booked a shitload of air miles for that vacation next year.
How many people in total?
Around 600? I honestly can’t stand all this AI nonsense anymore.
Cut travel budget not employees
So long as we keep sending managers on trips to oversee the offshore teams things ain’t gonnna change.
Why the heck are we paying people to give pep talks in India? This only means a plane load of people are taking their spouses on paid vacations.
How sad people are getting laid off while others get free vacations.
Vegas baby!
Another SKO in vegas!
After the rip roaring success of last year and the positive feedback on SD. It’s hilarious that they’ve chosen to go back to sin city
Why so many Bangalore trips by managers and team leads?
Each trip from US or Amsterdam must cost around $15K (USD). Business class is around $7K. Then hotel + meals + transport. It all adds up. Kind of interesting that I see people going to Bangalore who have very little decision making power.
The tu-d bucket Shankar is back
As an employee, the optics of this look absolutely horrible. You tell us people are going to be fired, yet this turdass is traveling around doing no real tech work—just parroting buzzwords. Instead of flying this tu-d business class, why not use those funds to buy pizzas for local teams once a month, let them feel safe, raise questions, and then have turdass Shankar address those questions from a Zoom call? That would boost morale and actually make management look like they care.
Why is this humanoid marshmallow floating around? If the company is strapped for cash, why can’t Shankar run his self-important AMA over Zoom? Who approves this nonsense? Come on now, step up and start cutting back on unnecessary travel. Plenty of teams have members scattered across the globe who would love approval to meet their colleagues in person, instead of funding boy NoShank’s excursions to dine on international cuisine while sweating up his smelly behind. Synopsys, do better: stop slacking, cut back on needless costs, and focus on saving jobs instead of firing people. Wasting money on Shankar’s travel needs to stop, leadership must take charge, cut back on this waste, and show real accountability.
