Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Why is Nawani's team allowed to travel international

From London to New York on business class for frivolous reasons that achieves nothing substantial? Especially when Citi has laid off so many people? If this person is required to be in new York, why wasn't he made to relocate to let go and someone new York based found to fill the opposition?

Is it only a coincidence that this person has family in ny/NJ that he gets to meet on company dime when laid off people have struggled to find something new after being laid off, been on expensive insurance and many other struggles?

Why is Nawani and his team so special? They've barely achieved anything of note that isn't brittle as a house of cards that would fall apart when actual experts in data look into it rather than second or third line generalist that have made every decision for him on data products? And whatever was left was made by generalist consultants

I guarantee this would NOT AND doesNOT happen at GS and JPMC.

How do I know this?? I work or worked there. GS and JPMC are cost-efficient, know when, where, why and how to spend money and when not to. And it shows. They continue to beat Citi's AS$.

The CEOs will give Nawani or whomever is doing these costly shenanigans an ultimatum. Either move to NYC, OR stay in London and travel to NYC ONLY once per year.

AND do Zoom meetings and work that are conducive to NYC EST hours.

It's NO Wonder Citi is Broke AS$ Poor, nickle and diming its employees and prospective employees.

And yet Citi Still wonders why it can only attract and hire Incompetent, Subpar employees who continue the vicious cycle of Citi's Dysfunction, Errors, Stone Age methods, Stone Age "Technology", bad policies, bad "managers", ad infinitum!

Being or becoming a GS or JPMC is simply NOT and NEVER will be in Citi's DNA.

In basketball, you can NOT coach height No matter if your strategies/tactics are good. You STILL NEED TO BE TALL.

Citi will NEVER be TALL, NO matter how much it tries. Citi will always be a M!dget.

Just sell the "Bank" already, in whole or pieces. It does Not matter. Citi is a lost, hopeless cause and FUBAR.

Employees certainly have already given up on Citi. They just LIE about their true sentiments on the VOE.

@a6 And you also become a marked person once voicing your complaint on the VoE. Many epople say that such surveys, across different banks and not just at Citi, is not truly anonymous and that they know exactly which is filling out what if they have to. Moving beyond the memes, there has to be a grain of truth in these rumours..there always is even if the rest is exaggerated.

Besides, as you said it will fall on deaf ears anyway. If the stuff about first class travel is true then given the fuel costs and all the unrest these days, that's easily a 4-6k, if not more, ticket plus hotel, meals etc. in NYC. Given the complaints from others about how they're nickle and dimed over raises and bonuses, including when applying internally for jobs one level up only to be told by HR that the raise is going to be pennies or not to expect one anything at all when applying for a same level position at another dept...this alleged spend on travel is particularly bad optics.

Nawani relocated from London. WHy couldn't others on his team? And if they do need to work hours more copnvenient to Europe or whatever, then stay there and join via Zoom. You'r no Ralph Kimball that suddenly you will come up with some brand new theory about something related to data

@OP

If you feel that strongly about this, you need to write your post on the VOE in September, if you're Not already laidoff.

As we all know, employees' comments, recommendations and criticisms will fall on deaf ears at Citi. But at least you get your complaints off your chest.
