Java UI Guy

Gonna feed the troll, but...

To the guy that keeps posting on everything about the Java UI being the root cause of Xerox's decline...would you care to elaborate more than just a vomit emoji? I think you might have some really deep insights that could really turn this company around.

Accrued Vacation Hours Payout

I was wondering if anyone who joined Oracle before 2018 and were on the accrued vacation hours system before the switch to Flex PTO, is aware that Oracle deducts accrued vacation hours each year during the company-wide Winter Break.

What this means is over time, any vacation hours saved up before 2018 would eventually go down to zero — and employees leaving the company now wouldn’t receive a payout for those previously accrued hours.

For those who joined after 2018, their Winter Breaks are fully covered without any deduction (because there's nothing to deduct). I’m curious if others have noticed the same.

SAP is the new Coupa

Hilarious to see how every og Coupa product leader is now at SAP with new shiny title better than those they had at Coupa, must burn a little inside for those ex-Sappers who pushed them out so they could make room for their friends...

Say what you will about the old product leaders one thing that cannot be argued is that they actually know how to build products, same cannot be said about these ex-sappers

Management Liars

So, originally I was told last month that some employees would be able to keep their Microsoft licenses due to work necessities, now I’m hearing that’s not the case.

I’m tired of all the lies, and the total chaos that this Microsoft to Google conversion will bring.

When management tells you one thing, just assume the opposite is true.

Total dumpster fire.

The Customer

In every company that I have ever worked for, my focus has always been advocating for the customer, whether that be in new product development, maintenance of existing products, resolving issues that are encountered, or being available when the customer needed help.

I have had the pleasure/joy over my career of having worked at companies that had this same value set. It was vital that the customer knew that he could trust us to do him right

While at F5, I continued the value set of advocating for the customer, however I soon learned that this was not the value set of F5. I continually encountered strong resistance. Premature release of software, software that was buggy and customer sub cases that were ignored to name a few.

Since my RIF, I have interviewed with many companies and to date haven’t found one that places the customer first. It’s about stock price and revenue. And after F5, I choose not to work in that type of environment again.

Kaseya is cutting 200 jobs

Miami-based software firm Kaseya, whose name dots the Heat’s county-owned basketball arena and which received government incentives for creating jobs, has eliminated about 200 positions.

About 50 of them were based in Miami, Xavier Gonzalez, chief communications officer, told the Miami Herald on Wednesday.

FISERV acquiring Q2 rumors? What are you hearing?

I’ve heard that FISERV may be in discussions to acquire us by early 2026. This isn’t entirely surprising given that our platform’s design and user experience feel outdated. Additionally, client support has been declining—particularly with offshore teams struggling to understand use cases, which often leads to delays while clarifying issues.

More layoffs at Unity

Many will recall the shocking dismissal of Unity's entire Behavior team, and now, in yet another round, it has come to light that Ben Cloward, a respected and well-known figure in the community, is among those affected.

Amid IT layoffs, Noida-based firm adds 3,489 employees in Q2 FY26

HCL Technologies announced its Q2 FY26 results today, showing a clear divergence from the broader IT industry trend of job cuts. While peers such as Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) trimmed their workforce significantly, HCL Tech continued to expand its employee base, supported by strong fresher hiring and improved retention.

Should I Take a Job?

I am interviewing at Sophos right now and its looking very promising. But I am FEARFUL of starting and being laid off in less than a year..its a new position they created after the acquisition, but idk if its worth it.

NTS

Some questions about NewTown Square

Do colleagues still go into the office?
What is the vibe/scene like?
Are customer events still taking place?

Is Cafeteria still very good?

I haven't been there since leaving in 2019 and was curious about the campus.
Always remembered very friendly front desk staff and security guards

Wishing everyone the best

TS also sees Mongoose as beneficial

In the current "Wortwechsel" he is towing the line. 1-2% seems okay for him.

On the other hand he focuses on the importance of culture. "Growth culture" is, according to him, soooo important.

Am I the only one who sees a certain amount of contradiction here?

At least he apologizes for the "brutal" remark, the tooth brushing (both DA) and the statement "at least my job is secure" (SS). Something at least.

Each layoff reduces my productivity

After each round of cuts I stopped doing something, whether it's the overtime or the extra polishing that used to matter to me. At first I fought to keep standards up, then I realized it was nothing but self punishment. Now I guard my time and try not to let the job eat me, and I make sure to do just a bit less after every round.

I hate layoffs, I fear layoffs, but...

This time my manager was laid off. That useless, d-mb weasel of a man managed to avoid every layoff so far and was even close to a promotion when this happened. I admit, I did a happy dance. That man made the lives of his entire team miserable on a daily basis, and for once, literally for once, they actually got rid of the right person. So yes, I hate layoffs, but this one I kind of enjoyed.

No time to die

I have long seen a strong resemblance between James Bond and our job as Account Executives. The mission is tough, failure can strike at any time, yet, like James, we rely on special skills and talent to survive. Mission after mission, year after year. And like James, we must be the best to still stand tall…even when facing death.
When I joined Oracle in 2005, I was threatened three times with being fired before turning 0% into 150% with a single deal. I was a Quota Achiever. An indescribable feeling. I survived. I was a hero.

That was my first Apps Win.

130 Apps Wins later, I am still a Quota Achiever, today at 170% achievement…but the excitement is gone. Management demands performance, and we deliver, year after year, pain after pain. But when performance is constant, why are we not allowed to grow?

Passion powers performance. Mission Impossible when there is no motivation. Even Ethan Hunt would agree.

To those who see my value and commitment for this company that I still love, I thank you deeply, it means the world. Soldiers should not be treated this way.
I am leaving today heart-broken, but I am leaving standing tall.

CFO Quote Is so infuriating

This quote angers me so much:

“It won’t be anything special,” Chief Financial Officer Dominik Asam told the German newspaper Handelsblatt, saying the annual job reductions are “like brushing your teeth.”

It shows arrogance and lack of empathy of the CFO. These cuts mean so much to everyone affected by them. And even to those not directly affected. It affects the community of SAP immensely.

Oracle GRC - EOL

Will the layoffs hit the GRC staff? I remember on May 2025 they announced the support will no longer be delivered to customers, so it switches on user’s responsibility. Is GRC employees included in layoffs plan?
