Board shenanigans
What were these secret foscussions that caused a clash between a board member and AM? The discussions have been described as a “deal” and “sensitive negotiations” and “essential discussions”. The plot thickens. It could range anywhere from something relatively small to - dare I say it - a merger/buyout. Let the speculation begin.
Help negotiating UK VR
They’ve basically given me a week to take VR otherwise it’s CR
If I take VR I get extra 2800
If I don’t I get statutory terms
They want me gone come what may in a month
First consultation meeting is next week.
Does anyone know if I can apply for VR say in week 2-3?
Can I request they extend the month because I’ve applied for internal job?
Anything I should be aware off?
LL6 to LL5 - what to expect from offer and negotiation?
Was asked to persue this. What are the real upsides? I read 15-20% base pay jump based on quartile (I’m in top already)? Seems slight for the order of magnitude of workload increase I may see. If offered has anyone negotiated up, and to what? (30% was my gut)? To what %? And beyond base pay what perks are LL5 to offset the (seemingly) minimal pay bump?
To those affected--anyone pursuing appeal requests on the terms of the severance?
Anyone could share reasonable requests that could ask to amend/appeal the terms of the severance? Much thanks.
Oracle Rejects Employee Severance Negotiations After Mass Layoffs
Oracle laid off an estimated 20,000 to 30,000 employees on March 31. The company offered a severance package including four weeks' pay plus one week per additional year, capped at 26 weeks. Unvested restricted stock units were forfeited upon termination. A group of affected employees attempted to collectively negotiate improved severance terms. Oracle declined these negotiations, presenting its offer as final.

Aramco Salary negotiations
Hi All,
Some great people are here, and I am looking for your advice on how to negotiate salary and benefits. from North america in prov offer process.
What GC band do specialists get hired on?
What salary base for that GC band?
Trade severance for little extended employment
What are the chances that we can trade severance for extended employment. I need it for my H1 process.
Negotiate CL Promotion
Is it possible to successfully negotiate a CL promotion when considering to accept an assignment with more responsibility?
Did anyone get better severance package after negotiating through employment lawyer or on their own?
Can we get severance as lump sum so it doesn't affect unemployment?
This varies by state, but in my state (Ohio) severance pay is deductible income that will reduce unemployment benefits 1:1. Does anyone know if it's possible to negotiate having the severance assigned entirely to the week of separation so that we can begin collecting unemployment right away?
Asking for additional pay increases or bonuses
Has anyone had success asking for a larger salary or extra bonus outside of the annual performance review? Since it's this company I'm guessing no but I figured I would ask.
The Future
The future of renewals relies on the stickiness of enterprise software. The gamble is that customers will tolerate bot-only support and sting renewal price hikes because the cost of migrating away is too high.
The company is moving to a No Human Interaction model where AI agents (utilizing the Aviator framework) serve as the primary interface. These bots handle everything from initial outreach to basic tier negotiation. The goal is to transition customers to an automated, self-service portal where renewals are processed as take it or leave it transactions.
This removes human negotiation but also eliminates the firewall that previously prevented customer churn. This automation is the technical justification for the reported 15–20% RIF planned for early F27. The company is stripping out its overhead cost to inflate short-term profitability.
Return to office
I am one that was lucky enough to be in the “remote pilot”. I saw the layoff targeted remote roles away from PHK to some degree. I was told that an RTO is coming up but the date isn’t set. I assume this is to get people to leave prior to possible severance discussions when it’s official.
Who else is hearing this or is your remote role still to be intact? I am wondering if we can negotiate this or if remote is done for.
I’m in GaME.
Raise outside of promotion?
Corporate IT Comrades:
I have been in my role for less than a year so I’m not eligible for a true “promotion.” Plus, we all know getting a promotion right when you’re eligible is never going to happen. However, I have been doing well above my job description for that entire time and that has even been acknowledged by many people leaders in and adjacent my team.
Due to the fake “we are broke” story when bonuses came out, I barely got anything from it despite meeting the max threshold.
All of this to say, I know I’m being paid $10k-$20k less than my peers that have the same job title plus I’m doing above and beyond that.
Is there any way to negotiate/demand a higher salary right now? Due to my personal situation, applying to new jobs to play hardball isn’t really an option right now.
I want to stay at centene but I want to be paid fairly.
Might be a stupid question
but is it possible to negotiate your severance? Do we have any leverage in the whole process?
German Layoffs +20%
The next round of layoffs in Germany was announced today. The plan is to cut 300 of the current 1,400 positions. Since Europe, and Germany in particular, has strong employment protection laws, Oracle will now negotiate the measures with the works council. During the last round, this process took 6–8 weeks.
Pay cut for WFM
Last week I formally sent an offer to HR and copied it to my L3. My offer is this, I will accept a 50% reduction in pay in exchange for permanent WFM. This is due to multiple family and personal issues. Should have an answer by Tuesday.

ProPublica Union Stages 24-Hour Strike
Unionized ProPublica staff began a 24-hour strike. They are protesting issues including AI use, layoff protections, and wages. The ProPublica Guild unionized in 2023 and is negotiating its first contract. Management's unilateral AI policy prompted an unfair labor practice charge. This marks the first work stoppage for the nonprofit newsroom's employees.

(Whistleblowing) Check Your Separation Agreements & Negotiate
If you've been laid off and if you've signed an agreement or if you're just about to get one soon, read your agreement. The non-disparagement part is especially important to look at. There are laws about how it's supposed to be written.

Are office locations for internal job postings negotiable?
I see some jobs that only list the NYC or Frisco as office locations on Workday, are those negotiable at all? Wondering if I currently report to the Charlotte office and want to apply if I could stay here or would need to move.
Severance negotiation?
Anyone aware of someone successful in negotiating severance pay. 3 weeks pay for 3 years is ridiculous.
Is there room to negotiate on the termination date
My termination date is 5 days before my vesting date. I want to request that my termination date be extended to cover the vesting date. Any suggestions on how to go about this?
Lack of info
There is nothing that can be done now. The one thing that bothers me to no end at all these extensions recently. We, as the people who will be represented by the contract, never see what the union(s) even asked for to start negotiations. Was there any give and take? Or, did they just be-doverand take what the company gave? This should be information supplied to all members, all locals.
Lawsuits are fair game!
If you are laid off, negotiate your severance. Ask for 10 times your severance and settle for 5 times if you can get. Tell the reason to them while negotiating - discrimination based on national origin. H1-B workers are still employed, I am being laid off because I am American.
I voted no and here is what happens next.
It took 8 years for the union to get ba--s after the terrible 2008 contract. 2016 we went on strike and made modest gains.
We lost those ba--s.
8 years from now, Dan or whoever, will invoke the spirit of Lowell and come after us again. We should have stood our ground now so we won’t need to do it in 8 years. We could have made REAL gains today but now we will make only modest gains going forward.
150,000 buyout for Central States drivers was canceled 3/24/26 will all buyouts be canceled?
3/24/26 Teamsters announced buyouts were withdrawn by company for 13 Central States. No surprise. All negotiations should go thru the Union first. But the big question is will investors feel they were duped by stepping on a known banana peel and ask for their money back?
Many past companies have given the appearance of buyouts during low revenue quarters to garner more income or investments. But it is not possible a Corp. just did not fully read the Union contract they signed so they had to withdraw buyout offers. Fishy....
BNSF attempting to give up all yards in Texas
BNSF completing RJ Corman take over of Galveston yard, with RJ Corman having bids in for Casey, Silsbee, and the potential for Houston and Sweetwater in the next year. Misconception being applied that RJ Corman can not operate on main line or take over yard protected by Beltway agreement, but BNSF is negotiating for yards with a mainline going through yard to receive FRA waiver to operate short line within switching limits and not terminal limits, which extend into mainline while still qualifying as switching limits, TY&E employees be aware, your union officers are in fact present and taking part in these negotiations above the local level, with no intention to stop or protect agreement rights as many are on the cusp of retirement, and looking to ease out the door with no effect to them.
UMR
So RJ has known that United Healthcare was in negotiation with Corewell hospitals (Michigan). Corewell wants 30% increase in payments over the next 3 years.
RJ didn't bother to tell Southfield participants this till NOW. Not even during open enrollment!!!
All Corewell Hospitals are/will no longer be in network. Maybe negotiations will come to an agreement, maybe not.
RJ HR dropped the ball because Southfield so much smaller?
Errrrr

The contract will pass doesn’t mean it’s a good one but the unions know the deal
Let’s face it we all know that one the unions didn’t do much of anything to get what was gonna end up being the offer in the end.Last year they were all about fighting to win things like caps on retirement medical ,but in the end the unions knew the environment they are in political wise along with on the company level work wise technology wise .Lets also face the fact they are concerned about the younger members who never been thru a strike along with making them go on strike for benefits they don’t have .So let’s all stop patting backs and just admit it’s was needs based decision .Call it like it is tired of Ibew and cwa pounding their chest about how great it is along with the problem isn’t Verizon it’s the country health care system.Lets be real the company said no way never gonna happen with retirees healthcare or pensions for younger guys take it or leave it .So the unions took it .Im okay with that but please wish the unions specially the CWA locals would just stop pounding their chests they rolled over a decade or more ago .Thats how we got to this point. So any of us thinking of retirement in next few years might as well forget that now .Also I’m okay with that but to the the unions just stop with posts please it’s making me sick every email and Facebook post
When are Mgmt Emergency Work Assignments (EWA) being announced?
Management here. I've been here for the last two strikes. For the last one, I recall getting my assignment fairly early in the year, and having to attend 8 days of on-site training at the Virginia center in the spring. They also told us not to make vacation plans around the potential strike time.
With a potential strike coming in August, why haven't assignments been released? Is anyone even working on that? Or is everyone assuming there will be will be a contract signed or negotiation extension?
