Appeal to the Spies

We all know this site is reviewed by the anti-People Team, so, genuine question - When is someone going to tell numbnuts RV that, outside his gilded bubble, gas prices are going through the roof (even worse outside US). If only there was a tried and tested way to have staff not have to travel in to the office?? Surely someone as insightful as Robbing (sic) Vince can think of something???


Houston Trade Floor

Any insight or comments on the culture of Exxon's trade floor in Houston? I'm considering a job there, but don't have a lot of insight into it and understand it is 'transitioning' with their 3rd attempt to create a trading organization. What is comp like for system traders and crude/product traders? How is culture?


Company Car question

Does anyone know the process for a company car that’s been impounded as part of an investigation? I am assuming it will be kept as evidence in a trial yet to be scheduled. I don’t believe the state crime lab will be through their investigation anytime soon, so I’m going to have to come up with some sort of reasoning for keeping the vehicle so long.


Are the teams that were retained this week considered stable, or is it only a matter of time before they too are phased out?

Should we expect that literally ALL teams within CIO, Tech Development, and Professional Services will eventually transition to contractors or be phased out, or are there certain products or teams that are intended to remain in place much longer term/business as usual? Do we think this will eventually also impact other teams like sales, client support, client success, etc?


What happens when over 50% of the jobs are gone?

Looks like the US is heading into a collapse over the next decade with the relentless jobs being lost due to H1B visas Ofdshoeing and AI.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we see over 50% of white collar jobs completely gone over the next 5 years.

This is a real SHTF scenario and most people still have their heads up their as--s when it comes to this

Last day Friday- Question/Brain dump about leaving

I know we have an exit survey but is there something called compliance questions?

Been at the company for 9 years and after the past few months, it opened my eyes and realized I need to get out. Over the past 3 years, my team has underwent so many reductions, this month 7 are leaving to a new department and I somehow managed to dodge all of it. Essentially the team will be cut in half next month and I’d be doing the work of two people- two different roles.

Last week I put in my resignation, I found another job with a different company. I’m nervous and excited. I’ve been so paranoid about losing my job that I’m on edge that it’ll happen with this new company. This is not healthy. Hopefully I’ll be able to get over it.


Can Optimus badge in for us?

This RTO policy is extremely outdated. What happens when Optimus comes out later this year and everyone can have an Optimus robot drive to the office in a Tesla and badge in for us. The leadership clearly did not think out just 1 year in the future.
