When someone makes a reference to an exec from 3 years ago, and is no longer here. Ignore them.
When someone makes an outrageous claim like “30% of us will be laid off” - do the math. That would be the largest layoff in USAA history times 3. That’d be nearly 11,000 employees to be laid off this year. They have no details. No sources. Just vague fear and round numbers. Ignore them.
When someone is posting about a single person every week. Ignore them. That’s an unhinged person.
We need to collectively stfu about RTO. There’s quite literally nothing we can do about it. The company has moved on. Society has moved on. Every other company has moved on.
Turns out when HR shills report your post, you are also banned for two days-- this does explain why so many OPs go quiet when their posts are removed. Anyway, that's why I've gone quiet.

This site should be one that provides information for those who have been affected by a layoff. It has devolved into name calling, bashing the company, and just saying mean things about current employees. Seriously, if you just want to say mean stuff, go post on Twitter.

You’re not imagining it — TheLayoff.com quietly removed the site‑wide search bar, and the individual company pages (like AT&T’s) no longer include their own search box either. But you still have reliable ways to search within the AT&T section.

WARN notice said 54 laid off in Baltimore alone. However, posts on this forum comment on ~59 laid off altogether from the Global Marketing and Distribution Enablement layoffs globally. Does that mean over 90% of cuts were in Baltimore alone?
Why don’t they layoff staff in EMEA and APAC? It seems unfair.

Why are all the Reddit posts on the r/Waterloo page? We need our own page. Would have been eye opening to read through prior to signing my contract. What I find comical is when someone tries to give people the heads up on this board and its often met with heckling and jeering. When the day comes shortly thereafter…..it gets all serious. The hecklers disappear and can’t be found, most undoubtedly combing the emails, group chats and personal texts to see if “it” is coming their way.

If you don't have any experience with pseudo anonymous forums online, just know that it's incredibly easy for literally one person to pose as multiple people to steer the narrative in any direction.
There are no IDs tied to individual posters or IP addresses here, so you don't even need to use different devices or a vpn to completely spam this forum.
People can and do pretend to be other people all the time, not just to troll but to try and warp reality to their perspective. Just something to keep in mind when you read posts here.
This site is supposed to be updates, gossip, word on the street etc etc and the latest post was weeks ago. Either no railroader is posting or their being deleted. Anyone being laid off? Hard to believe that’s not the case. How about critical rules? People quit getting wrote up or what? Come on we need some creditable gossip on here!!!!!!
1st post - I’ve checked in here for a while on and off occasionally and my sentiment is largely the same. Full disclosure - I left a while ago.
What if this forum could coordinate our frustrations and impact (even small positive) change? Yeah, I know - doubters, I hear you already and don’t disagree. If the board has not fired him already, chances are slim if not zero.
You know, there are several thousand views to each post on this forum. This means people take time to read what is here and, I want to believe that frustrated or not, it’s because people care. I am sure some are bots and some are random, but I do believe most are not. (Maybe that’s too optimistic?)
RTO silliness - really sad - just the latest example of clueless leadership - I’m sorry (sincerely).
But, what if?
Give your feedback and hit the arrows to the post up or down (like or not). If there are more downs then ups, this is my only post. Maybe this is just a healthy outlet for frustration - if so, OK! (I know it’s needed)
But if this larger group wants to rally, and feels the promise of Truist pre-merger and the actual failure of achievement of potential due to poor leadership cannot be fulfilled, maybe there are a few constructive (non-violent of course) actions that can be pursued. Whether you were hBBT or hST or even new since then, How do you feel? Don’t worry about comments, just hit the arrow up or down. Let’s see how this forum feels about this post.
If you have work friends that you can trust, invite them to check in here from time to time. Whether a real movement and strategies emerge or not who knows but growing the audience matters.
