Shared workspace.

I was diagnosed with shingles a week ago. I've been going to the office all along and plan to keep going in and using shared space. I'm not going to waste a sick day being actually sick. I'm trying to use a different spot every day. Enjoy.

Retirement Plan Vesting

I’ve seen a few vesting-related posts, and I think mine is the most interesting one. My last day is set as May 31st, and if I work one more day, my 401(k) will be fully vested, based on the 190 hours per month rule, no kidding. it’s really frustrating to lose almost 40% of the contributions just because of one day. I’ve reached out to HR, but it seems like nobody is familiar with this situation. Do you have any suggestions on how I might be able to become fully vested?

Spinoff or merger?

I’ve been thinking ELT is setting everything up for a merger, for awhile now. But lately I’ve started to wonder about a spinoff instead. All this talk about segments… core, new to wealth and high net worth. Think there might be a plan to create the segments in order to spinoff or sell one or two of them?

Is anyone suing the company ?

If you’re currently involved in a dispute over unfair dismissal or the company’s illegal practices, it might be difficult to answer here.
I think what the company fears most is having multiple dismissed employees file lawsuits alleging illegal conduct, which would prevent the downsizing plan from going through.

Time for a gut check.

Ladies and Gentlemen, always go with your gut feeling. Don’t rely on or listen to the rhetoric that you read on these posts, you will never know if they are friend or foe from within Xerox or even the industry. Do your research and have a “gut check” to understand where you are in all of this chaos, and make a decision. Either stick it out and give it you’re all while supporting team mates or choose to refresh your resume, and seek a different path moving forward.

Those of us that are/were actually in this industry, know it’s not the easiest way to make a living, but it is lucrative if you take care of customers and gain their trust.

Consider your future either way: Personally, I was part of an iRIF. Fortunately, I noticed some red flags that caused me to take a defensive move several months prior to being let go. # 1 flag was the COO stepping down after building up the re-invention plan.

Whatever your decision, plan for your future, whether you stay or decide to move on.

Is Dan waiting till the president calms down to finish his plan?

It seems there has been a lull in layoffs likely due to the latest tantrum. It seems that until he finds something new stateside to fixate on things will be in flux businesswise around the world. Will Dan continue his path or will it be a whole new plan afterwards?

Retirement Planning and Advice

Just got mail from MetLife announcing "important updates to your MetLife 401(k) plan".

#1 New Target-Date funds. Balance fund going away. Ok fine.

#2 Access to Retirement Planning and Advice. Anybody have details on this? I couldn't find in the "literature" whether this was free (how much is free advice worth), or how much it costs. Sometimes the "advice" is really just a sales pitch, so sus. Seems unlikely that they could truly afford to offer "guidance tailored to your unique financial situation that evolves with you as your needs and goals change" unless it was 100% A.I.

Would like to hear from someone that knows.

old pension plan

After reviewing the information online and calling two different reps in the hr/retirement area, I cannot get an answer to my question. Does anyone know if the old pension plan - like from 2002 - has a lump sum withdrawal option? It seems like that might be a better bet if you are over 60.

If you do get laid off, what are your plans? Besides searching for a new job

I’m going to …

  1. Exercise and eat better and take better care of my health.
  2. Study up on personal finance to figure out how I can retire early, so I never have to deal with this type of bullsh-t from an employer ever again.
  3. Organize and clean my house.
  4. Spend more time with people I love.
  5. Cook new recipes.
  6. Learn martial arts and challenge the Hatchet Man to a duel

I think I will enjoy having more free time on my hands!

Any updates to P&T disbanding plan?

Has anyone heard anything new since RM’s most recent email announcement? Someone posted the decision timeline (the staff council summary) in the comments section for that announcement. I thought it said something like EVP communications were supposed to come out end of September/beginning October. Haven’t seen one from our EVP but maybe others? I realize I’m being anxious, tough not to be…

Anyone heard rumors about Medicare Advantage Plans ending in 2026?

Health insurance is a rumor mill anyway-- it thrives on it.

Has anyone heard anything similar? Remember a few years back they were all gung ho about the 'single payer' plan?

Just checking & testing waters. I wonder if that is the unspoken reason behind all the chaos?
