Are you ready for more layoffs?
This is the way.
To those who believe their layoff is Unjustified..
Whether it is a fake PIP program based layoff or direct layoff, if you had a good track record yet you were laid off because you are a US Citizen while the manager wants to fill your position with a H1B visa holder..
As per USCIS's Employment visa rules, employers 'vouch' that there is no equivalent American citizen available, hence they are sponsoring a foreign national for H1B visa.
But the reality is quite different. Just produce the facts related to Fiserv i.e. how many US citizens were laid off while Fiserv continuously sponsoring H1B visas and majorly Green Cards where they prove to US DOL with complete documentation that absolutely there is no citizen available for that position and ONLY that particular foreign national is the PERFECT fit that position to get the PERM clearance. How fake it can be these days..
Just provide the facts to USCIS and copy to Stephen Miller White House Deputy Chief of Staff for policy and Homeland Security, Copy to local DOL's authorities.
HR Schills will delete this message before it is read by others..
Does anyone have any information on the next layoff. Who will be affected, possible dates?
I heard those who got laid off are the lucky ones, while PSP situation will be so dire the rest of us will actually have to pay to be here. Anyone hearing this too?

Another slump in the stock price and another downgrade. I’d ask when will the BoD see the light that this dude is clueless and asleep at the wheel. However, we all know they are complacent!
Nonetheless, given we are now market based, the market clearly has no faith in the company and thus the !diot at the top REALLY needs to be the very next person laid off!
create an intolerable culture so people quit—same layoffs, just without the severance bill.
If my separation date is April 10th, can I start applying for it now? Or do I need to wait till get the lump sum payment? (in the doc, it says it'll be coming within 3 weeks after separation date).
Looks like Tara is out unceremoniously. No ‘pursuing other opportunities’ or other corporate speak just ‘bye Felicia’.
Who’s got the inside scoop?
Good luck over the next two days everyone. See you on the other side whatever that turns out to be.
Have all the NYC office employees scheduled to be laid off this week been notified?
Just got off the phone with my AD and I was told April 23rd there will be a 10% RIF across all departments within Verizon. They are going after highest paid workers now NOT based on your PAD or time served in the company. My AD wanted me to help develop a plan to put into play with the reduced staff starting May 24th.
It felt like I was signing divorce papers from a bad marriage. I'm very glad to be out of that company. The max severance package and unemployment are like having a hot girl say she just wants to hang out with you after your divorce but nothing serious, just casual fun. After that, retirement and traveling around with the actual love of my life. I ran the numbers, it's like getting a ~$100K payout into retirement. I'll happily take this over a retirement card and going away gift at a pizza party.
Assuming more layoffs are to come, and if and you're in a similar time in your life, I highly recommend trying to manage the last days of your career aiming for a layoff rather than announcing a retirement date. If I would have told them I was retiring in May, I don't think I would have been laid off, so keep that info to yourself. Don't tell a soul because it WILL get out if you do, and that could be a very costly mistake.
Are the people who have been hired before, to analyze the company for layoff advice, holding clipboards? If so, saw them at a HQ today.

Historically, it’s always been a professional courtesy to give two weeks notice before leaving. However, as recent layoffs have shown, companies are giving no notice (Oracle). This has and will become the norm. And before someone says, well it’s courtesy to your colleagues, just remember that it comes at a cost to you and your family for being nice.
So with that said, why continue this legacy practice of giving two weeks notice? Again, if it helps the employee pack up and wrap up, sure. But otherwise, I think it’s time to reevaluate the practice. Just because society followed the same rule for so long doesn’t mean it’s correct in today’s AI world.
Love to hear your thoughts, including how you would advise your own kids if they were in the situation.
Half of the team size? This is endless.
9,62 EUR −0,86 (8,17 %)
All Time low!!!!
What you see in news is vastly exaggerated. Cost reduction target is 20% - achieved through head count reduction in high cost countries -us employees took the brunt.
That's it, that's the whole post
Suncor is Laying off people and keep outsourcing jobs to India. recently they hired over 100 people of HCl.
Is it happening before this time?
At the Pleasanton office. Every day I am surrounded by self-entitled D-Bags. These people really think they are better than everyone and look down at you. There are also many D-Bags at the Santa Clara office too. Hopefully with continued lay-offs at Pleasanton and Santa Clara Oracle gets rid of more of the D-Bags.
Wondering how many are planning to cut ties this time around or just waiting for the inevitable ax to fall with layoffs
It's a torture device that ends one way - you getting shown the door. PIPs have been used as an excuse to purge people for years, now they're just cranking it up. My advice is to play along, put zero effort into "improving," and spend every ounce of energy job hunting. XOM isn't the greatest company on earth. There are plenty of better places, smaller ones, often, that actually value their people.
I'm dreading the coming week. Losing the literal backbone of our team has made it impossible to keep up, and everyone around me is struggling too. Work was stressful before, now it's three times worse. And you know what happens if we don't perform? That becomes the excuse to cut us next. If results actually mattered, maybe they'd have thought harder about who they let walk.
I was undergoing cancer treatment and radiation therapy when my manager asked me if I could work three days a week and take a part-time FMLA instead of the full disability leave. This would allow me to regain my rhythm and continue earning commissions.
I decided that this arrangement would be beneficial for my morale and overall well-being, so I agreed. However, two weeks later, I was laid off! I had been pre-approved for the entire year to receive 90% of my pay and full medical coverage. Now, I will lose my coverage and have no job or income while I am recovering. I spoke to a few lawyers, but they all told me that I was in trouble.
If you get laid off and get say 6 months severance and you currently put 1k per month into 401 k does Nike give you the 6k or do they deposit the 6k into 401k? Trying to figure severance numbers just in case. Thanks
Any idea if the VPs were laid off if they will cut into their staff?
Ideas??? Who is on the chopping block??
This week’s announcement has serious implications and indicates the company is moving towards elimination of the pension. You could have worked for decades and be days away from receiving your pension at 55 and lose it all under the new system. If you are staying for the pension and it is what is keeping you here I recommend you think hard and critically on what the chances are that you actually receive a pension. Clearly Darren wants it gone. Executives have their huge pile of RSUs and the pension means very little to them. They would like to eliminate the pension so the stock pops higher.
OLD SYSTEM
If are NRE and placed in NSI:
If you were not NRE and placed in NSI:
NEW SYSTEM after 2026
NRE and DPC eliminated from policy. You can be fired for “low performance” even if you have worked successfully at the company for decades and are just a few months or days from reaching 55 when you would be eligible for retirement. You can lose it all.
If you are placed in NSI:
NEW SYSTEM IN 2026 ONLY
NRE and DPC eliminated from policy but if you are NRE and NSI then PIP will be offered and if you don’t pass you will be fired. You can also just take the PIL.
If you are placed in NSI:
Group, I should have been more aware of my demise by reading this forum for the past couple of years. I should have put on my clown shoes a few years ago and sat on the plank of the dunk tank as you all would have saved the company at 10 quid a toss. Anyone out there have a good number to call HR so I can get my golden parachute? It's so tough to get an audience with someone who can help. Best regards, Bandy
Severance papers signed and looking forward to my 6 months of free money. Over 25 years spent at O and now it feels like a divorce, in a good way. It is time to move on and enjoy my early retirement. So glad this chapter is over!
Does anyone have this information for last year and this year?
Anyone have any idea? I'm in such a bad spot that I'm clinging to this job for dear life. I wouldn't even be able to begin searching for another job. I just need a couple of months until the dust settles.
Does anyone know of Citi giving people 4’s, then putting them on a pip, then failing them, and (not) laying them off - but firing them to not pay severance?
It's actually mind boggling. Those who can find another job more easily always leave first. Most attrition drives end up disproportionately shedding talent and skill.
This company is going down, the job market isn’t nearly as bad as what people are saying. You are so smart! There are companies that value your time and won’t fight you to make progress. It’s time to send out applications. It’s not worth staying here and fighting, they sold us all out, but the future for you is bright.
For those let go with 20+ years, how long did it take to get that years of service bonus? Paperwork said up to 30 days but was curious if it would be sooner.
May layoffs? Round two?
Does anyone smell may layoffs prior to desk movement in June?
Are there new onshore/offshore people joining your team?
