Class Action forming- Retaliatory PIPs

As many know bp rolled pips out again last year as a more underhanded way to get rid of employees vs doing restructuring every year. 😂

Unfortunately as many employees feared, there is now mounting multi-employee evidence building that PIPS are being used purely to retaliate for protected whistleblower and medical leave activity.

We have become aware of multiple employees facing the exact same treatment after reporting compliance concerns or taking protected leave.

This is not only highly unethical this is illegal.

A class action lawsuit is forming and we are looking for additional current or prior employees who may want their case to be included.

Citi PIP, Severance?

Hello, so I was Pipped beginning of march from a bad performance review, (4/4/4/3)
And it took them till march to do so. Then I was told they don’t have a notice period for how long

Right now I’m on medical leave, I’m thinking of asking for a separation package? Is this a good move? I plan on framing it very professionally and want to know if since I got such a poor review and a PIP if severance is off the table?

I’m based in Tampa and a AVP

Health crisis

In my department, so many people are on medical leave or coming from/going on medical leave.

It blows my mind that Fidelity would rather pay stress leave claims than do anything about weak management (sorry “leaders”). Someone is responsible for the medical problems and it’s the stress and culture of the managers hired during the pandemic.

Not sure about the whole company, or just my department.

Was on Medical Disability for Cancer treatment, was laid off

I was undergoing cancer treatment and radiation therapy when my manager asked me if I could work three days a week and take a part-time FMLA instead of the full disability leave. This would allow me to regain my rhythm and continue earning commissions.

I decided that this arrangement would be beneficial for my morale and overall well-being, so I agreed. However, two weeks later, I was laid off! I had been pre-approved for the entire year to receive 90% of my pay and full medical coverage. Now, I will lose my coverage and have no job or income while I am recovering. I spoke to a few lawyers, but they all told me that I was in trouble.

Layoff and $2000.00 stock

I'm not seeing this in a post. If you already have the $2000.00 in stock and are laid off will you still have it or do you need to bank actively employed for tge 2 year waiting period. I'm on medical leave and don't have access to Worday. They cut my access as usual. I feel once I'm actively employed I'm going to be laid off. TIA

RTO medical exception

Hi All,

Does anyone have experience with a medical exception that can change their working arrangement? Are they lenient on the conditions that may qualify for this? What is the process? What was the end result? Was documentation needed? Did you experience discrimination from management after?

I personally have a condition, that although is not life shattering or major, would greatly benefit from a relaxed work arrangement.

IBM Low performance rating

Hello- Anybody faced a IBM low performance indicator from being on medical/parental leave now or in the past and all previous ratings were positive and no written or or-l performance issue was highlighted. just received surprise notification this week out of nowhere and i am still on medical leave how to defend against this type of stuff if hit with PIP when you eventually go back to work after leave ? will they fire me while im on leave ? is getting a lawyer the only option . Im not sure about complaint with HR/upline as they will usually defer back to manager.

The Cat's Out of the Bag

During a town hall El Jefe let the cat out of the bag – NCRV is making less money than it is spending so the reduction last week was necessary. He did say he was looking forward with excitement – most likely because he knows there are thousands more that can be cut if necessary!!

Something else that he said was important, he encouraged everyone to go to your doctor appointments and take care of your sick children.

It is what he did not say that is really important here – the fact that they are tracking the number of days in the office and amount of time that you are in the office – so he should have also added that since they are tracking everyone’s time - make sure you are in the office the required number of hours or you will be placed on the next CUT list…

Some friendly advice - to be careful you might want to take a sick day or vacation day when you have to take care of yourself and your family!!

Something else they don’t advertise – you can also take time off without pay. This is useful if you have run out of vacation or sick days and it is obviously not the most desired path but it may just help you keep your job….especially next year when the 5 days / week…8 hours per day requirement kicks in.

My advice is to take your vacation without pay and then save your vacation days for when life happens…I am being sarcastic of course..

To paraphrase El Jefe – if you don’t want to be here 5 days a week 8 hours per day then they don’t want you!! In my opinion that includes just about everyone..
