Not in this economy, and not with the job market the way it is. So please, share credible information or at least somewhat reliable rumors. We’re all in this together. Most of us would rather have a heads-up, but nobody wants to get worked up week after week over layoffs that aren’t actually happening.

Sooo… not really “one and done”?
If we go by the media reports, that doesn’t seem to be the case. But then, who still trusts leadership at their word? We’ve been stressing for weeks over the coming big round, and now it sounds like it might turn into a drawn-out affair. No company, and no fu--ing job, is worth this much personal anxiety and collective pressure.
Amazon cut 30K jobs
Amazon to cut about 30,000 corporate jobs beginning this week
I got so worked up that I can’t even care anymore
I’m numb at this point. Whatever happens, happens. I just want it to be over fast. The toll this whole thing is taking on our health is off the charts. Sc--w this company.
Booz Allen Hamilton announces new round of layoffs
McLean-based Fortune 500 government contractor Booz Allen Hamilton is launching another round of layoffs after a weak quarter, citing earlier federal contract reductions and an ongoing slowdown in federal funding.

Later, guys!
I’ve refreshed this site so many times since Thursday. This is depressing af. See you all tomorrow. Good luck, I guess? I don’t know
Amazon layoffs online with TGT
Was this planned and coordinating by each others CEO’s to layoff this many retail employees at same time or just forward looking forecast of the industry ? Hence similar timing
Also is their cut less bad as ours? Or about same. Ratio. Still not good either way you slice and dice this
Is Intel planning to reduce head counts to 50K soon?
It seems to work like a magic just a few months because we cut or ki-led 35K family heads.
AI Ponzi Flywheel about to crash 1leading to 15% layoffs
In the "AI Ponzi Flywheel" circulates money in a self-reinforcing loop which Cisco is a part of. This artificially inflates valuations without any broad external revenue
First, Nvidia and AMD inject low-cost financing directly into OpenAI (like Nvidia's $100 billion commitment and AMD's warrants for cheap stock)
this is for infrastructure purchases.
OpenAI then deploys these funds to acquire cloud compute from Oracle and CoreWeave (Nvidia-backed), along with networking equipment from Cisco via the Stargate UAE project.
Then, Oracle and CoreWeave reinvest OpenAI's payments to procure more Nvidia and AMD GPUs, expanding their capacity, while Microsoft amplifies the cycle through equity stakes and Azure integrations. Hype-fueled stock surges enable warrant exercises or stake sales, recycling profits back into further financing rounds. This internal churn sustains $20 trillion market caps and reported growth, like Nvidia's $300-500 billion projections and $64 billion cash flow, but hinges on perpetual inflows amid low data center utilization (60-90%) and ongoing losses ($10 billion annually for OpenAI)
This is a more fragile system than dot-com and the housing bubble combined. A single disruption could evaporate trillions in value.
the actual utility from AI is minimal. "agentic AI", "vibe coding" are losers and cause more problems than they solve.
AI is just a summarization machine that also makes it easy to pump out horrifcally tasteless videos for the masses
From one of many impacted in previous Target layoff / RIF
As many of you wait to hear your fate tomorrow this message actually goes to everyone. I was impacted by a previous layoff at Target.
If you do get bad news tomorrow, just know that you will survive this, and it will be but a blip on your life radar.
My ask to each of you, regardless of whether you’re still employed, is that you should never assume the company you work for is your friend or has any loyalty towards you. All companies are concerned about their bottom line and bottom line. Any of them would fire whomever they need to if they think it will make them a dollar more.
Employees are simply “headcounts”/numbers.
You are paid on payday for the period of time worked. At that point, each of you agree as to whether there will be another pay period. Either of you can decline and the agreement is over.
Live within your means and do not give your employer power over your well-being.
breakinnews: Amazon just announced a 30K Layoffs
Goodbye job market.
Maybe the cut is H1B focused?
It'd be an interesting development.
Can you be laid off while on Focus?
Any thoughts?
Reason for Layoffs
What are the reasons for recent layoffs in EH or any other companies recently?
- Recession
- Company performance
- AI
- Outsourcing
- Hiring other country nationals (Indians)
- Corporate greed
- Bad planning
- Politics
Which one is true or is it all?
It's coming next Monday
It was moved. Still on though.
FP&A
For FP&A, do teams experience layoffs if their business partners are experiencing layoffs, or is it across the board? Any one who was here during 2015 have some intel?
This truly su-ks
I'm over here updating layoff.com, my Outlook email, Slack, Blind non-stop. Why don't they just get it over with?
Target layoffs - implication for us?
Do we think tomorrow’s Target corp layoffs will create a ripple effect through the Twin Cities tech scene? (This is a moment when we may benefit from having so few leaders who live here, but we have enough.)
Amazon Laying off 30k - Is T-Mobile Next?
How soon will Srini follow the lead of his new buddy at Amazon?
https://www.geekwire.com/2025/amazon-reportedly-set-to-lay-off-30000-corporate-employees-in-massive-workforce-cut/
At this point, they may as well lay me off
It’s a better option than staying in this mess of never-ending anxiety.
They certainly achieved one thing
With the way this is being handled, I know I'll be looking to leave whether I'm affected or not and I know so many others who feel the same. I don't know if that was the goal, but if it was, I think they might be surprised at how good it worked when they're faced with a mass exodus after this is done.
Did we ever determine what's going to take the worst hit?
I hate the lack of info from management.
American Water Works Merger
Whats the impact on layoffs
Hiring from outside yet surplussing
My AVP team just hired from the outside a month ago and just surplused two others (without performance or attendance issues) -- both in Dallas.
Yes... both surplused employees over 50.
Make it make sense!
30,000 layoffs tomorrow

Which teams are being hit?
1000 layoffs in round 1 Wednesday
According to Bloomberg. Wonder when round 2 will come.
Tech or engineering affected?
Anyone hear anything about tech or engineers being affected by the layoffs? We’ve essentially received no communication from our managers, directors, or VPs since the news came out
Come back, Informant!
We need that person or people who had the very solid info before The Email came out to come back and feed us more.
How is tomorrow going to unfold? This one isn't like the last one (2015). There was no notice ahead of time.
Can someone who knows please tell us if there will continue to be small rounds with a team here and there or if there'll be another big bang in January or February?
Remote Workers Speculation
my manager told me he expects remote workers outside LA NY to be hit very hard this week as they plan to phase them out anyway .. if their job was needed - would rehire
this is me - he told me he doesn't have the list - who knows about that ..
anyone hear anything about this specifically -
they would have had to look specifically at where you lived and where your team was ..
Are you ready CTO - FHO
It's coming for you tomorrow. Those who have been waiting for it, hopefully you get it. Those that want to survive, I'll pour one out for you! Good Luck.
Admins
Do we think they are changing the reporting structure for admins to a higher amount of leaders per person? If your an admin, and you have a open role (vp, SVp or sr) are you getting let go too?
design is our north star
saying 'design is our north star' while utterly gutting OB sends the opposite signal to both our teams & guests... this can work a bit, but eventually this will cost us big time. i do not want to rant about this too much as today is a very difficult day for many but i am just saying that this will sink us even deeper and it will trigger even more layoffs.
VP slack deactivated
VPs in the business (property management, ...) got deactivated. Tomorrow L8 and below will happen
VSP First Class
I see HCL let the majority of people that came over from managed services go now. Post VSP I look back and am glad I took it. Really hope those whom were part of the HCL cuts make out okay in this economy.
Stock Price
It's interesting that the removal of the growth cap hasn't resulted in a significant gain in the stock price, nor has it resulted in Wells Fargo buying up anything. We still seem to be in the continual layoff loop we've been in ever since Charlie came on board. Why aren't we growing now? Surely, there must have been people planning for when the growth cap was lifted.
Layoffs in India
Do you know what the impact will be on India? How deep and wide will the cuts be and who is being laid off?
Where are y’all going
For everyone that has left and are happy elsewhere, where do you go to?
So… were there any layoffs today?
Lots of speculation lately. Haven’t heard sh-t
