Could this have been done better?
I have been praying for myself and everyone else. Even if I survive this layoff I know others will not and it saddens me. What a horrible way to do a layoff, we find out Thursday and have to go all the way to Tuesday to find out, it has been a miserable few days for all of us. I would say it is CRUEL in fact. I love Target and I wish they had handled this with more care.
One week until cuts
Starts in November. Best of luck everyone. It's tough out there.
Amazon just laid off 33k
Target Spouse
From a spouse of a Target employee. I've been following this site for the last 5 days and this whole process is an absolute sh-t show. I'm sorry to every employee that works there and has had to play this game.
More coming
There will be more layoffs before years end. Nothing says Happy Holidays like a good old fashioned RIF. Support for clients is terrible and getting worse by the day. Pretty unhappy place to work these days.

Companies blaming AI for layoffs
I've been seeing more companies laying off employees blaming AI. Amazon laying off 14K corporate jobs. So many roles within Fidelity seem very robotic to me as it may be easy to utilize AI to cut overhead the question is on timing? If you work in one of the call centers you will notice what ever role the employees are in they are following a script, oh excuse me a call model for that role. There's very little self thinking within Fidelity so it seems would not be too far off when AI could easily learn the call models and also how to sound human to a client on the other end. Just the thought for the day
Was RTO the first phase of these layoffs?
Assuming some would quit with RTO, saving severance and unemployment.
14000 Layoffs Confirmed
While this will include reducing in some areas and hiring in others, it will mean an overall reduction in our corporate workforce of approximately 14,000 roles. We’re working hard to support everyone whose role is impacted, including offering most employees 90 days to look for a new role internally (the timing will vary some based on local laws), and our recruiting teams will prioritize internal candidates to help as many people as possible find new roles within Amazon. For our teammates who are unable to find a new role at Amazon or who choose not to look for one, we’ll offer them transition support including severance pay, outplacement services, health insurance benefits, and more.
Some may ask why we’re reducing roles when the company is performing well. Across our businesses, we're delivering great customer experiences every day, innovating at a rapid rate, and producing strong business results. What we need to remember is that the world is changing quickly. This generation of AI is the most transformative technology we’ve seen since the Internet, and it's enabling companies to innovate much faster than ever before (in existing market segments and altogether new ones). We’re convicted that we need to be organized more leanly, with fewer layers and more ownership, to move as quickly as possible for our customers and business.

Are there layoffs happening right now at TII?
Please which teams are being impacted and any details you can share
This is not going to stop here
Let’s be honest. They don’t care about quality or people, only about cutting costs. If they can outsource us all, they will. The work will definitely suffer, but that won’t matter to them. As long as the numbers look good on paper, they’ll call it a success. That’s the sad truth of where we are now.
What % of employees are remote? Are they first in line for layoffs?
Does anyone know what percentage of employees are working remotely? Wondering if remote workers could be the first to get impacted.
Would you go back to Target (redo of 2015)
In 2015, I heard most team members laid off like 60-80% had to be hired back. Are the odds high that we will be asked to come back again like before 3-6 months from now in 2026?
Would you guys come back to target if part of layoffs this year or it wouldn’t be as chill as before since CULTURE su-ks now compared to back in day???
Say goodbye to HV field techs
HV just fired 60%+ of it's Customer Support Engineers. Left 1 CSE to cover 1-2 States. If Japan doesn't take over, HV will cease to exist in a few years.

Are we affected??
Great People Getting Walked Out
How is it that someone walked out of P66 is now doing the same to bring his minions in from the same company. Some really solid talent getting out or being walked out.
Hootsuite laying off hundreds of staff; 20% of workforce
Vancouver-based social media management-platform provider Hootsuite confirmed to BIV in an email Monday afternoon that it is laying off hundreds of workers.
The company said it would not "share" exactly how many people it was laying off, but it said the cuts would be for about 20 per cent of its global workforce.

T-Mobile fired Amdocs
Recently T-Life broke long standing relationship with Amdocs which impacted hundreds of employees. What are your thoughts?
Before the Tuesday layoff threads start, remember that
- You will not get meaningful information about how many were laid off
- You will not get meaningful information about what LOB/group was hit
- You will be disappointed with any information provided
- The same questions posted every week will continue to go unanswered
- Starting a new thread with the same question will not lead to better answers
Let's keep it concise so we can consolidate what little information is provided. That way the raging reich-wing boomer can go back to spam-voting their own threads about Indian employees.
30,000 corporate Amazon employees being laid off
Fun times, fun times indeed
Cargill finance layoffs
Did anyone get notified they were impacted today? Or will we be told tomorrow?
My wife and I are both facing layoffs this week
Her company’s in worse shape, and the chances of her getting let go are even higher. The odds aren’t looking good for us. If we both lose our jobs, we’re honestly sc--wed. I don’t know what we’ll do if at least one of us doesn’t find something new fast. We’ve both worked hard and done everything right. This just shouldn’t be happening. Ever.
1000 people layoff?
Is tomorrow is the day?
Layoffs at CBS
Do we think there are going to be any layoffs at CBS???
Optum site saying 10/30 Layoff?
Is there any truth to rumors of a 10/30 layoff? Optum site is reporting one.

no more large-scale layoffs in 2025
Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
Though sporadic layoff may still happen as HR is giving managers a chance to get rid of their eye sores.
More layoffs coming
They're being super quiet about it, but the fact of the matter is that there are more layoffs happening inside this company and it seems mainly due to the merger with Juniper. The surprising thing is that it isn't just traditional overlap functions like marketing or accounting, but actually in functions such as engineering. There is clearly a technology strategy but it is not being shared. Instead, they're just laying off staff to cut costs predominantly in the United States. For those of you that hoped the $1 billion dollars in savings would happen over time and might come out of other things like real estate consolidation, surprise, it's happening very fast and at payroll levels. The hypocrisy inside the company about the well-being and the pride that we have as well as being the best place to work and is ridiculously misplaced.
To make matters worse, HR is pushing forced distribution for end-of-year ratings. They may think they're telling you otherwise, but it's literally what they're doing. When questioned about this, they hide behind senior executives and their wish to do this.
Quality comes at a price
Which makes me think a lot of people who actually know their stuff have been picked for layoffs. Never mind that it would be yet another self-own for the company.
So it’s both the US and Europe today?
Which areas are being hit in the US? People say Finance. Any others? This really feels never-ending. Good luck to everyone, and if you’re affected, I hope you find a better job very soon.
According to media: logistics, payments, video games, and cloud-computing
Amazon.com Inc. plans to cut corporate jobs in several key departments, including logistics, payments, video games and the cloud-computing unit, according to people familiar with the matter.

I guess it’s not happening this week then?
We’d probably know more by now, or at least I hope so. I could use a little more time. I got an offer for another job. Nothing spectacular, but considering how things are going here, even a so-so alternative looks better right now. I hope you’re all looking at exit options too. The market’s rough, it takes time, effort, and a lot of luck. Don’t wait for these people to catch you with your pants down.
How long might this round of layoffs last?
I’d rather find out tomorrow than spend days or weeks being a nervous wreck.
