@mb , that's right, blame it on DEI, instead of the actual incompetence of senior leadership, which has always been the case. The patterns been the same since the company's inception, long before DEI was ever a thing. Further, in the history of Staples, there has never been anyone fitting the DEI description call the shots on Staples' direction - directions that constantly lands it in an economic ditch.

@104 , you're delusional. The truth is Staples is ruthlessly indifferent, once they make the decision to cut ties. Heck, they can't even decide what slogan defines them year-to-year.

There will be no layoffs. Just admit the company is doing better since you got cut/fired.

Maybe I’m drinking the kool aid but this company is far better than most out there.

Staples sheep-le are doing pathetic posts on LinkedIn to hype this garbage meeting. Losers one and all. Especially look for the ones from VPs that do nothing else of value but are trying to be noticed.

Folks update your resumes. This company will start laying off after the conference, they have a pattern of doing this. This company will be sold off piece by piece then bankrupt. There are so many other companies that treat their employees like family not just a number.

So… vendors like Newell and HP are paying for the entire boondoggle. Sycamore sc--wing them again after bleeding them to access sales teams with minimal return but threatened they can be removed or deprioritized in search from web sites.
Maybe SK will show up again like in 19 and reassure everyone all is well before taking a $1 billion dividend and saddling Staples with the debt. Then selling all real estate and doing leasebacks. Don’t forget this $ helped fund Essendent and Walgreens acquisitions. They don’t give a damn about you.
Most high paid employees have all been laid off and replaced by younger, less competent ones. Class action opportunity for any employment attorneys out there.
Looking forward to town hall. S Goggles can do another soft ball interview with R Chuckles. We can learn more about her Radical Candor. What a joke. Maybe we can hear about Leaning In too. DEI continues to ki-l this company.
Hopefully we can have J H come back and do another victory lap after refinancing billions in debt at over 11%. This is just above junk. Reality is company would default if it wasn’t done and kicked down the road but it just bought time. Sales are declining. Market place at reduced margins is the only thing growing at depressed margins and cannibalizing organic growth.
Sales management is unqualified and ineffective. Any good managers and sales people are gone. DEI hires and unqualified people are all that is left. KPIs are set to get rid of anyone who is left.
JOKE of a once great company. Get out now if you can.
PS , have fun in Orlando… it will be your last memory of Staples.

Oh yay! When they first flew everyone to Orlando in 19 and simply turned the paper clip to a table. That was actually a good time. Well until they cucked us with the guy that will smith played from the pursuit of happiness vs actually will smith. So many people got fired from that trip too for being to hammered. Hey, looking forward to this one though! Should be a “hornet, STING the competition, of a good time!

The new logo is terrible yet wonder if they will change it back they like to repeat stuff they did before. The reboot of That was easy fell so flat whoever was doing the social posts don’t quit your day job you could never be an actual influencer. And don’t get me started at the people that are being hired to work in the stores and the lack of professionalism in cleanliness, communication skills, and quality. I am embarrassed to work for this company and am only here to get an easy paycheck. My boss doesn’t do anything and is clueless I am collecting a check and maybe work three hours a day which is probably an hour more than my boss.

Last time was the logo change that was a big waste of money and look how many good people are gone now since then. That conference was the worst. And not one thing they said was true or executed effectively.

Yep, they will start layoffs again after the trip. Best thing to do is update resumes now before it happens. Staples used to be a great company but not so much anymore. Everyone is just a number, they don't care about your performance.
