Hearing rumors that another opportunity to AEOI with an actual severance package (2 weeks for every year of service) might be available in 1Q 2027. Anyone hearing the same? Can anyone confirm?

I submitted my F36 in January & still don't have my previous years of Chevron service credited.
Have any of the Legacy Hess employees with prior service at Chevron had their service record updated properly after submitting the required F36 form in the first 60 days of rehire? I am still fighting with the offshore Benefits Connection team. They are truly incompetent; what a great way to save the company money.
Employees leaving service
Service appears to have taken a backseat with gehc. Management plays the "metrics" game to justify low employment numbers. Even going as far as wanting a .9 FTE which is absurd for field service.
Any prior fe's experience this in their region?
Experianced Field guys are leaving for better pay and less expected OT.
AHT member services
I’d like to ask for clarification around AHT expectations within Member Services. We’ve been told that AHT is not a primary performance metric when all other quality measures are being met, yet many of us are now being told our AHT is being closely monitored and even audited.
Can leadership provide transparency on how many employees have been written up or let go specifically due to AHT, particularly in cases where other key metrics—such as quality, compliance, and member experience—are consistently meeting expectations?
Additionally, what does it mean in practice when AHT is ‘not a metric’ but is still being tracked and acted upon? Understanding how this is being applied would help reduce confusion and allow us to better align with expectations while continuing to provide quality service to our members.
Anyone from servicedesk?
I know we are the lowest in the IT hierarchy but maybe there are people working as L1/L2 and would like to share experience? Because honestly it is my first user-facing job where users are the LEAST of the problems lol!
Butler County DD Board Announces Layoffs
Butler County's Board of Developmental Disabilities announced significant cuts. The agency plans to reduce staff by 24%, eliminating 31 positions. These measures, including a building transfer, will cut its budget by $8.4 million. Service demand has increased 400% since 2004, but the budget has remained unchanged. The board seeks a new levy in May to fund critical programs for 4,300 residents.

When the Best Network Is Not Enough
For years, Verizon Communications built its brand on one idea. The best network.
That worked when the gap was real. It is not anymore.
Today, every major carrier is good enough. Most customers do not see a meaningful difference in daily use. But they do see the bill. And they do feel the experience.
That is where the problem is.
You cannot charge a premium if people do not feel it. Not in speed. Not in service. Not in how easy it is to deal with you.
This is not really about the network. It is about everything around it.
Simple plans
Clear pricing
Fixing issues the first time
Respecting the customer’s time
These are not big ideas. These are basics. And when the basics are off, no network claim can save you.
The real shift is this. Telecom is no longer about who has the best signal. It is about who delivers the best overall experience for the price.
Verizon is now being forced to face that reality.
The next move will matter. If it is just more promotions, nothing changes. If it is a real reset in how the company serves customers, then there is a path forward.
Right now, the message is simple.
Having the best network is expected.
Making it worth paying for is what matters.
My Verizon wireless service is terrible
Can someone give me some idea or insight to how few years ago my service was pretty good in most areas .Now my service it terrible and spotty all over the place .Some areas I used to have no issue now have no or slow service.I mean it’s all over the place all over the country. Is this have anything to do with which unlimited plan I have or is it just our network has taken a total dump. This is no joke a serious question please
401k balance after years of service
Can we compare how much 401k balance folks have after years of service?
After 16 years I have managed to save just above a million
cleaning services cut from 6 days a week to 3.
Not only are the expectations insanely high now, but they also want us to play full-time janitor or custodian on top of everything. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not above cleaning, but seriously—can you imagine a commission or performance-based job where you’re expected to scrub toilets and haul other people’s trash every other day? This is ridiculous. Big Red is straight-up down bad right now
Is BNSF Scared???
This is on the BNSF Webpage:
“Merger Response Resources”
“If you have concerns and reservations about the proposed merger between Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern, or you believe conditions are needed to ensure the merger doesn't reduce your competitive options, it is important that the Surface Transportation Board hear from you now and at every opportunity during the regulatory review process. Your voice matters.”
It’s like it’s another way of saying that they don’t want to compete with UP even more. It’s funny how they act like they care about the customer when they’ve ripped them off for years as well. If you want the customer’s business, lower your prices and offer better service. Simple. You know it as well as everyone else.
IHO and Shared Services
Hi gang
I've become almost beholden on my IHO and Shared Services employees, at a division level. They're my go to's.
Which areas of IHO and SS were cut hard? Communication being struck from our name, I suspect we all get nothing, so anyone that can chime in?
Duet Defends Layoffs Amid Financial Challenges
Parents, guardians, and staff attended an Eastern Nebraska Human Services Agency board meeting. They sought answers regarding recent layoffs at Duet. Duet stated financial difficulties necessitated the staff reductions. Attendees expressed concern that service quality for people with disabilities would suffer. The board cited ongoing legal proceedings for not providing specific financial details.

More layoffs
Well here come more layoffs! Anyone have details about Service?
service-now
What is it?
Thinking about selling a few things...
That dell "issued" me. Obviously not the computers as I need those, and those are tracked lol... but I'm talking about a few things that were given to me via Dell and via the perhiprial request form..
A headset worth $250 that I don't REALLY need, a dock that is MSRP $569 as two examples...
I started 8 years ago and have had the same dock since then. It still works fine but its been doing goofy things when I plug it into my personal laptop so, I requested a new dock. Finally got it and this dock is retailing for fkn $600! I have no reason to have two docks but, I'm 99% positive that anything you request (minus computers) from dell is not tracked nor are you "issued" it in terms of tracking purposes, nor are you obligated to return if laid off/quit.
This dock has no service tag sticker on it like our computers do and sure, I have no doubt they have the SN of it tied to my name but, I've ordered 3 headsets in my years - 1 broke, the other had the mic chewed up by my puppy. Those headsets are like $250...
The other device I have I'm confident I could sell because it came from my contracting company - but was technically purchased via Dell - and I could get about $200-500 for it. The licenses have run out on it at this point which devalued it by about 3k but it's just collecting dust in my closet at this point.
I'm very much considering selling this new dock though... Hasn't even been plugged in yet. Worst that can happen is I get laid off and they ask for it back, which I can say it was lost during a move or stolen...
Service Now
What happened with the big push to move everything to this “new wonderful tool”? I’ve seen a couple apps move, but it seems that forward motion stopped a couple years ago? Any insight other than funding? Seems we’re paying for both now, Service Now & legacy apps?
Another day Microsoft's stock gets hammered. Investors not impressed with Microsoft's Ai or Cloud services
Going to be a large number of Microsoft layoffs announced soon.
Dealer Service
They shifted field service in several upper Midwest states to dealers last year. I'm hearing that they are about to do this same thing in a number of additional states. Does anybody know anything for sure?
One year service bridge
Is it possible company can give me one year service bridge as part of the separation package so I can make it 10 years to have lifelong dental medical benefits?
BAU
Please continue working hard every day business as usual bringing in revenue to help support upper level retired management and perhaps one day you too shall travel first class, enjoy fine dinning, five star accommodations, fun toys and cosmetics. Thank you for your service.
Fiber rehab?
Neighborhood has been taken down twice in the past 4-5 weeks. Actual Verizon techs working overnight at the Xboxes. What are they doing? Know they have used a lot of contractors for installation in the past but that has basically wound down and seems like there is no repair work based on the number of trucks you see after almost any type of inclement weather.
Verizon just lost 13k subscribers
It so annoying that they even try to sell Verizon services to people that they laid off . "you are terminated, but you are eligible for 50% discount" seriously! get out of here. Verizon will lose even more subscribers with all these lay offs. They dont have the best service and they are the most expensive. stupid a--holes
Companies Likely Hiring Verizon-Aligned Talent
Roles span network engineering, customer service, retail operations, IT, and enterprise sales—skills highly transferable to other telecom, tech, and infrastructure firms.
The broader telecom job market in 2025 remains robust, fueled by 5G/6G expansions, fiber optic buildouts, and remote work demands, creating 3.8–4.6 million new jobs globally. U.S. telecom operators and vendors are hiring tens of thousands for network operations, field services, and support roles.
Companies Likely Hiring Verizon-Aligned Talent
Based on current 2025 job market trends, here are key companies actively recruiting for telecom-related positions. These firms value Verizon experience in areas like wireless infrastructure, customer support, and network management.
I’ve prioritized major players with open roles in engineering, sales, and operations, drawing from industry hiring data and job boards. Focus on updating your LinkedIn and resume to highlight transferable skills (e.g., 5G deployment, VoIP systems, or CRM tools) for faster applications.
AT&T
Largest U.S. telecom rival; aggressively expanding fiber and 5G networks, adding ~400,000 postpaid lines in Q3 2025. No major layoffs reported this year; hiring to offset retirements.
T-Mobile
Fast-growing carrier with 1M+ new lines in Q3 2025; focuses on affordable plans and 5G private networks. Actively recruits from competitors for enterprise and retail talent.
Comcast
Entering wireless aggressively via MVNOs; needs Verizon retail and broadband experts for store expansions and customer migration.
Charter/Spectrum
Recent $34.5B merger with Cox boosts hiring in cable-to-wireless transitions; targeting infrastructure roles amid store growth.
Crown Castle
Tower infrastructure giant; Verizon’s 5G partners often transition here for site acquisition and maintenance roles. High demand due to neutral-host 5G builds.
Ericsson
Global telecom equipment leader; hires for 5G/6G R&D and deployment. Verizon enterprise team cuts create direct pipeline.
Nokia
Similar to Ericsson; expanding U.S. private networks for ports/industry. Seeks ex-Verizon engineers for hardware/firmware roles.
Granite Telecom
Mid-sized provider of enterprise telecom solutions; partners with Verizon for resale. Hiring for growth in VoIP and cloud services.
TDS Telecom
Regional carrier focused on rural broadband; entry-to-mid-level hiring for field and sales, with strong benefits for ex-corporate roles.
Additional Tips for Landing a Role
• Timing: November–December hiring slows, but January 2026 ramps up. Apply now via LinkedIn (use “Open to Work” banner) and job sites like Indeed, ZipRecruiter, or Telecom-specific boards (e.g., FieldEngineer.com).
• Severance Leverage: Verizon’s packages include 60-day WARN notice, extended benefits, and outplacement services—use them for resume coaching and networking.
• Upskilling: Free resources like Coursera’s Google IT Support cert or CompTIA Network+ can bridge to high-demand areas like cybersecurity or AI in telecom.
• Networking: Join groups like “Telecom Professionals” on LinkedIn or Reddit’s r/telecom for insider leads. Former Verizon colleagues are already sharing opportunities in these spaces.
Switching carrier after RIFs
How long does Verizon let you keep the 50% employee discount after leaving? I upgraded my phone earlier this year, so I’d still owe on that, but I’m trying to figure out how long the discount stays before I lose it. Any former employees know how it works?
We don't have unlimited hours in the day
Our manager just raised our quota again, like we’ve got unlimited hours in the day. I’m pretty sure he thinks he’s boosting performance, but all he’s really doing is making it impossible to provide decent service. Can he even do that? I know for a fact this isn’t a company-wide change, and it’s not the first time he’s pulled this stunt.
FIG
We are a current FIG client, and while the volume of recent comments and the decline in stock price are concerning, they are unfortunately not surprising. Our experience with Fiserv’s service and support has been extremely disappointing—among the worst we’ve encountered. The products offered are outdated and lack the functionality and efficiency that competitors in the market provide. Based on our conversations with Fiserv clients, there appears to be a widespread eagerness to transition away from Fiserv, which is truly unfortunate but probably the best option.
Service @ Allstate
Who leads the Service and claims organization at Allstate?
Verizon totally su-ks
Working for this company is absolute he-l. When working in tech you are still expected to sell sell sell. 99% of our continued training is nothing but sales soft skills. The only thing this company cares about is "adding phone lines" if someone has already been escalated up to multiple levels of tech support they don't want to hear about plans or perks or upgrades. The amount of work they expect agents to be able to do is completely outside of reality. There are so many service related issues that can not be resolved by anyone.
“Redeployment Services”
Any of y’all that got canned because of location strategy, like me, get an email from a recruiter in the Redeployment Services group? Never heard of them and have no idea what they are wanting from me. Anyone have any experience with that group? Thanks

LHH Outplacement Service
For those in US impacted by layoff and utilizing LHH Outplacement services, how is the service? Any good?
