Thread regarding F5 Networks Inc. layoffs

Severance is insulting

If you were part of the layoff, you received 8 weeks of severance, unless you worked at F5 for 13 years or more. Eight weeks. For up to twelve years service. For a company that has had multiple back-to-back record setting quarters.

You're welcome, I guess, for creating product, over the years, that generated those revenues. For a company that claims to care for its employees (and in the past, actually did), this is more aligned with the Jelly of the Month Club.

Is this really the best they could do?

@kw You must really be upset about losing your F5 job, to spend this much time here. When someone drops you, a company, a boyfriend or girlfriend - do you obsess over it or move on? Clearly, you obsess over it. You definitely have a lot of growing to do as a well adjusted adult.

Maybe start with AA.

Just wait - someone will have the ba--s to attack f5 publicly on LinkedIn the there’s jack cr-p you could do about it lol

Awh there are def f5 staff working round the co-k to try to quell the massive amount of damage and sh-t talking this company naturally brings about. It’s hecka cute to watch them panic. Professionally. Calmly. Panic

@j1 Promotions and raises are thin, I’ll give you that. But benefits are good. And…. Just to let you know what you already know, the opportunities out there right now aren’t numerous. So many of us are sticking with F5. When we get laid off, so be it. It happens. When the entire industry is 20% the labor force of what it once was (AI), so be it. Bi--hing and crying about it won’t change anything. And it only makes you feel good momentarily. Work on yourself, we’ll be fine.

People talking about what works what does not work: look, f5 is a poisoned well. Get out

@OP F5 ( or any corporation) has no obligation to do the best for those who are no longer going to work on their products. If you own a company, will you send the terminated staffs on a trip to Hawaii?
Don't let anger, bitterness and pain get into your good judgement. Do not post anything negative, either. After October 2025, F5 will need to hire some to fill the holes. It can be you. I know some enjoyed the April RIP and got hired back in the next Fiscal year.
Do not commit a career su----e.

@d4 it was 1 week

The 8 weeks starts after getting full pay and benefits into October, so everyone is taken care of into December. While I strongly dislike this decision, getting four months of severance doesn't sound particularly insulting.

I think it was like 1month per year during the round of 2022/2023

Instead of committing crimes on camera, maybe the @OP should do the opposite. Get busy applying for their next job, build new skills, start a side gig where you are your own boss, and this time save money for your next RIF at the next company. This industry isn’t going to get more generous over time.

@a1, I'm afraid it is too late for you. You’ve gone down a dark hole you can’t seem to climb out of. The hate is too strong for your better half to overcome. Some day, maybe your last day, you will look back and realize what a waste of time and energy this hate was.
