Information

I feel sad, guilty and burdened. I didn’t choose HR as a career to ruin lives or to help a greedy, mismanaged company do bad deeds. This is not meant to scare and I am fearful to post as I am under NDA but I need to help if I can. In a few weeks there will be another layoff. If you are over 50, overpaid, under performing, or your function can be AI replaced you are at risk. Please be prepared. I will not log into this site again, and I will not be able to provide any more information. I am praying for all of you who may be impacted.

Retirement

I’m considering giving notice of retirement but not sure what would happen after I do. In other words, if I were to give notice that I wanted to retire on October 1, would they fire me right away because I’ve had some poor performance evaluations but today we’re not talking about me leaving the bank. Just didn’t know if by giving retirement notice it might force somebody’s hand. Does anybody have any experience with this issue?

What are the chances I will be let go soon after giving 30 days notice?

As a VP, I am required to give 30 days notice to keep RSU and be eligible for rehire. I currently work in controls (second line of defense) but will be joining another competitor bank as an WIM client Advisor.
The last thing I need is ~30 days of no pay due to being let go by WF soon after giving my 30 days notice. What are the chances I will be let go soon after giving 30 days notice?

Now they are threatening managers will be terminated if employees MOOSE is wrong

They just can't get enough people off of payroll. They are now threatening managers if the employee's MOOSE is marked incorrectly. A manager with CLO and MS employees sent out a notification to their employees that while MS might be 2 days, the expectation is 5 days, and that the CLO employees are expected 5 days at the customer site.

There was a big emphasis on MOOSE being correctly coded, and that any telecommuting be preapproved by their manager. The quote was "They aren't losing their job because I don't know where you are"!

So as managers you're not being treated as customer serving managers? Also, how can you tell where your CLO employees are if they are always on VPN?

The sole purpose of L2 is to find reasons to fire you

Management seems to be he-l bent on finding reasons to fire you, they never give positive feedback. Only time you hear from them is when they accuse you in the wrong or they find stuff to write you up. They dont coach for success, its coaching to destroy you. Wayfair used to be a decent place to work and management used to be supportive but the new culture is very destructive.

Scared and Stupid

My wife and I both work(ed) at the NY, NY hub and our request to relocate to CIC (Charlotte, NC) hub was granted. I went first a few weeks ago to Charlotte and emailed my wife but apparently the wrong email auto populated (I didn't notice). Instead of emailing my wife, I emailed an employee who's husband just passed away. I said "hello honey! There's plenty to do here and it's really hot. Can't wait to see you tomorrow!" Today, I was contacted by HR about harrassment. Even though it was a honest mistake, do you think I will be fired or be put of the next layoff list?

Sc--w it I am so done let’s see what happens

Heads up: My manager said upper management is actively pushing to fire people to save costs and told us to “get ready for the worst.” I’ve been here 5 years, and while last year I didn’t meet some performance metrics, I have documentation showing the assessment isn’t fully accurate. My manager even admitted the pressure is coming from above.

Is anyone else seeing the same thing? Thought we should share experiences and be prepared.

BTW James Faris at Business Insider

If anyone here is providing information or screenshots to James Faris at Business Insider, be cautious!

I’ve heard from my VP who knows the identity of one of the informants that they’re watching them and waiting for them to slip up again. I'm told their IP address, document download timings, and personal email logins have all been tracked. They’re waiting to take action and may fire them for gross misconduct.

To James Faris, I know you're probably reading this forum and LinkedIn, cause you reached out there - It’s probably becoming clear why the comms team isn’t supplying you with any quotes for your stories, but some of your informants might lose their jobs.

Is being a newer hire a layoff risk at Fido?

I’ve been with the company for about nine months and I'm starting to hear a lot of chatter about more upcoming changes. From what I see on here, it seems like the cuts can really depend on your specific business unit or project. I’m trying to figure out if newer team members like me should be more concerned, or if the focus is usually on other roles.

I think I'm on my way out

Lately, all my main projects have been canceled or pushed aside. My boss has stopped checking in, and other people are being handed responsibilities that used to be mine. If you've been in the workforce for a while, you learn to recognize these signals. My gut is telling me that my job is at risk.

Cyber security cleaning house

Cyber security executives have recently been firing people because they have been putting their own spin on executive orders and thus individuals have been terminated for not meeting company expected standards. Starting in quarter one management is further informed to start cutting manpower based on personal perception and end of year reviews. It's not about your job it's about popularity contest and thus as long as you make your manager and managers above them happy then you're in a good place but if you try to protect the bank or do something that is against the CISO new secure design plan they are going to terminate you without a chance to redeem yourself. Management is further encouraged to get rid of people who do not get above meets.

In short the new management chain wants nothing more than mindless monkeys to push buttons and follow scripts where pictures match the words this is why cybersecurity management is incapable of protecting its employees and throwing them underneath the bus.

Majority of the roles that cybersecurity fulfills will be replaced by AI and managers will be displaced or move to another team to fulfill another role depending on if that executive likes them or not. For managers who are not near a hub location and were promised a year and a half to two year extension to keep their job that's expected to end in quarter one and those managers are expected to be laid off or terminated.

To those individuals in the cyber security line of business good luck now that you are forced to compete like a model competes in a beauty pageant there is no reason for you to even willingly stay here now that you are degraded even more.

And for those who are not aware of cyber security is making this adjustment in quarter one because they're taking advantage of the PTO burn for the holiday season.

If you are not liked by your manager or your manager has given you biased end of year reviews in the last 2 years then your ticket is punched you are going to be gone quarter one

Severance

After years of top performance and multiple company awards, being labeled a ‘low performer’ during a severance call was surprising and discouraging. The lack of appreciation, combined with sudden goal increases and new write-up policies tied to severance eligibility, made the process feel more like pressure than professionalism.

Do Sr Directors know they are being let go?

I am trying to figure out if my boss in ( NJ office ) is safe. In meetings today they talking about the future for various initiatives, reviews we have next week etc. They are not great to work for so my life would be a lot more pleasant without having to report to them. I am thinking maybe they know they are safe...

Likelihood that you will be layed off.

Asked perplexity likelihood of my position at verizon being gone. I'm in sales, and it is around 8%. If you are on the business side, you have a much higher chance of being laid off.

Also, if you work in accounting or finance, you have one of the highest chances of being let go in November.

Survived another week, somehow. Please read

Section Manager here. I hate this place, cried twice today and I never cry, ever. I know a lot of people make different posts on here and much of it is pure cr-p. Please take this post to heart and make your own decisions. They are realigning leadership at all levels and looking for any excuse to fire people. This includes SMs, TMs, CSs, Underwriters, CA, USAs. They just changed the accountability cycle to the performance cycle. I'm being asked my CM/VP and Executive leadership weekly, that I basically need to find people to fire. They are basically saying make it up or dig until you can find something. They are hiding behind people not providing "World Class" leadership or service. It borderlines on illegal behavior. I can't stomach it anymore and trying my best to protect who I can, when I can, but any attempts put a huge target on my back. Everyone please and I mean please please watch yourself. These people are self-deluded sociopaths running this company and it is only going to get worse. I'm going to find a way out of here. I cannot live in this kind of environment, work for these type of people or be a part of it any longer. Get out. I know how hard it is especially when you have a family and obligations but go out on your turns. This purely evil place is not worth it. God bless everyone, just want you to know the deck you are playing with. This truly is an evil place, it does not stand for the right things anymore and your soul is not worth it.
