It’s happened so many times already that I’m not even sure there are enough people left on some teams to carry the load. Every time they cut, the rest of us get buried.

Any rumors about next week?
I’m getting used to the idea that layoffs could happen any day at this point. Still, it’s always better to have a little heads-up if anyone’s heard anything.
Vague business talk—no plan, no solutions, just frustration. Toxic !!
The toxicity from upper leadership is insane. Being a top performer means nothing—“OneTru” is their magic fix that will apparently run itself, so they’d rather replace real talent with cheap contractors from Softility. They’ve openly said we’re only useful until the migration is done, and after that we’re disposable.
Post-layoffs, the people running the meetings were arrogant, condescending, and dismissive. They spoke in circles, offered zero real plans, and clearly have no clue how to handle the mess these mindless cuts created. We’re left overworked, unsupported, and exhausted.
Don’t relax if you were skipped on Thursday
If you made it through this round, don’t just sit back. Do everything you can to line up other options. The job market is brutal right now, and the earlier you start, the better your chances. I’ve been searching for a while and actually got two offers. I turned them down because they weren’t great, but the point is, opportunities do show up. Taking things into your own hands can at least give you a little peace of mind.
UCF lays off 65 employees
The University of Central Florida laid off 57 employees at a renewable energy research center in Brevard County last week after the Trump administration cut federal grants that helped support it.
The state’s largest public university also recently laid off six people in its technology department and two at the UCF Arboretum, though those were not tied to the loss of federal funding.

SOUTH OC LAYOFF
After 13 years with the company i was unfortunately amongst the many who were layed off. I was completely blindsided . I am currently on FMLA and was given the news on Friday. I was told I am entitled to severance pay , or that I have the option of resigning and reapplying within the company . With the current hiring freeze and not to mention I would lose all my years … this just seems to me like they want to save them selves from having to pay me severance.

HASTA LA VISTA.....
turn out the lights......the party is over!
Getting laid off from WF is bad for your local businesses......
Getting laid off from WF is BAD for local businesses. Neighborhood liq-or store doesn't sell as much booze .... folks leaving WF=less drinking.
Then there is the late-night munchies sessions that are cancelled. Less groceries being bought by the now-not-drinking WF employees.
Local GYM is empty and losing $$. Since no drinking, no late night snacking, no exercise is now needed.
Don't even get me started on the local pharmacy sales being down.....ex WF employees have no more depression, no more high blood pressure, frankly.....no more problems.
So, in a nutshell - getting laid off by WF is just plain bad for business....period.
G12 RSU and raises
Came in as a G12 employee through a Cisco acquisition. The first year was simply aligning the base pay and bonus to match Cisco. The second year, got full 18% bonus, $45K RSU but no base pay increase.
How is Cisco with G12 comp? Are there annual RSU refreshers and/or base pay increases?
I've also seen posts about how G12 are generally at a higher risk for layoffs. With the company pushing for margins it's making me anxious.
+1800 headcount to axed from Europian Union region
As part of the cost savings, the layoffs are currently happening and some will commence next year.
SOMETHING TO LOOK INTO
Team of 10....
3 black women, 3 white men, 2 white women, 2 black men....
The 2 white women and the 2 black men were affected in the layoff.....Was this really random??
Also, of the 4 that were layed off, 3 of them are on workforce accommodations due to existing disabilities....Coincidence or not??
8 months pregnant and laid off
Now that the storm has calmed I found out verizon has no heart! They laid off a girl in my territory who is 8 months pregnant! She was the only person affected in her location!! She is a couple weeks away from going on fmla and was just told she no longer will have a position after she gives birth! I am sad, angry, and disgusted by this decision.
Did anyone buy or lease the Orin?
Rumors from earlier this year… Is bnsf doing directional traffic on the coal loop? Did they run through Edgemont yet? Did they do anything with the Orin???
Every bit of industry has been changing this year. People are getting laid off or displaced to other locations. (Example… Union Pacific is wanting to make North Platte an away terminal).
US tech jobs going to India (?)
US has the weakest employment protections hence global companies appear to be shedding US roles to India. The weak severances add risk for those affected and financially solvent to consider class-action lawsuits if they do not to sign separation agreements that prevent such an opportunity.
Any layoff news of International
Has anyone in the UK, EU, or India regions noted any confirmed internal news or formal communications regarding significant headcount reductions or layoff plans in their respective D&B offices?
Anyone else here that planned on buying a house/car/big purchase but put it on hold due to the insecurity of working here?
🙋♂️. Saved for 4 years on a down payment trying to buy a house so I can start a family. Due to all the layoffs, that has been put on hold indefinitely for as long as I work here.
Can't wait to get out of here but the job market is absolutely trash.
AI Technology
It was a privilege to host Bridget Engle, in Charlotte for a deep dive into our technology strategy and execution.
I was incredibly proud to see our teams demonstrate how they are turning that strategy into reality. From Al-driven (All Indian Driven) automation to engineering next-generation payment platforms, the focus was squarely on impact - delivering powerful, secure solutions that create real-world value for our customers.
These sessions are vital. They connect our enterprise vision directly to the teams on the ground and reinforce our shared commitment to solving complex problems that will advance the future of finance.
At Wells Fargo, we are dedicated to leading that charge. It's our people who are making it happen.

Whatever you want to call it is not over.
For certain, all Retail Senior Managers are actively being stack-ranked and your fate will be determined in the near future. So for you lazy store managers, you've already made your bed, and they know.
Dear Verizon
Dear verizon,
I'm not taking my severance. I'm going to take a different job. I'm about to coast. I'm going to use you, I'm going to get my degree in engineering using your tuition assistance. I'm going to no longer be a top performer. I'm going to do just enough to keep using you. I don't trust you anymore. I'm going to tell people not to get verizon, I'm going to go out of my way to not have people switch. You sc--wed over so many people and you are taking advantage of people's emotions during the holidays. You're about to pay for me to leave and I'm no longer going to be your top performer. Fu-k you.
Race of laid off
Curious as to what races were laid off?
Where any corporate Indian people laid off?
Layoffs next Tuesday
Technology 15% cut
How much time I got left?
I started at Verizon when I was 21. I’m 36 now 15 years in and I’ve never felt more afraid of losing my job than I do right now. I’m a top performer, but none of it seems to matter anymore. This new CEO is coming for everyone, and morale is trash. At this point I don’t even know if I should keep grinding or just stop trying, because this company clearly has zero loyalty. If my hard work means nothing, why should I put in any effort at all? Anyone else feeling the same?
Not performance based
This was not based on performance. It was done to save costs and involved random selections to foster a new culture within and, disrupt existing friendships/cliqs
It’s far from over
For those of you who did not get laid off on Thursday, do not feel like you are safe. There is more yet to come. February/March I heard is the next wave. This layoff affected thousands at ALL levels, all the way down to the frontline. Verizon has over 6000 stores and what’s left of our corporate locations? 1200 or so after Thursday? If you’re thinking “Phew, at least I’m safe,” THINK AGAIN. Don’t get comfortable or naive to the fact that you very well could be next, no matter your performance.
Are you still actually signing on every day and fully working until your layoff date?
I’ve been getting mixed advice with many folks leaning towards not working at all from now until their last day worked. Curious what it looks like for you? I have the option to do either, I believe, and ethically, I feel that I should help with the transition since I’m still technically employed until Dec 19. I’ve never been laid off before so I’m not sure. What are you going to do?
Layoff Memo
Dear Team,
After years of paying you to do your jobs, we've discovered that the real problem holding Verizon back from "delighting customers" is.... you! Specifically, 13,000+ of you. Your salaries are apparently the only thing standing between us and becoming "faster, simpler, leaner, and scrappier". We are firing a fifth of our managers so the rest of you can live up to your potential. This isn't a layoff, it's an exciting "reset" and "reorientation" around our sacred mission of delighting customers. Think of it as a HOLIDAY GIFT. 'Tis the season to be overworked as we enter this new era of additional blackout days and longer store hours. If it doesn't ki-l you it will make you stronger which should help you during our next rounds of "promotions to customer". But don't worry, we're putting 20 million in a "reskilling and career transition fund" - that's roughly $1,500 per person which is totally enough to learn to code or become an influencer in this economy. We didn't even notice this was taking place during the holiday season and trust us, it was totally unintentional. Survivors, act grateful, work harder, and remember: the next "reset" is always one bad quarter away. Cheers!
Thanks for the gas money
Got laid off two weeks ago and my gas sponsored credit card still works! Thanks. Feel zero regret about it. If COP read this do something and stop all these cards from working on laid off people. Anyhow this is another example of how badly things are planned in conoco.
Good times
I’m just sitting here reminiscing about the past 37 years working for Nynex/NYTel, Bell Atlantic/Verizon. The union, while certainly far from perfect, got me enough to get married, buy a house and raise 4 kids into adults while allowing my wife to stay home and raise them. Did they blow it with the tiered compensation/benefits for new hires? Yup. Did they bone over retirees with crushing health insurance costs starting in January? Yup. Could they have done better with pensions and lump sums? Yup. Did they spend way too much time and effort defending slug members who should have been fired? Yup. But overall It’s been a good ride with a good group of coworkers. Not sure if I’m gonna bail before August or hang for a bit longer, but either way it’s gonna be on my terms. As for the recently layed off folks, I feel for y’all - this company is as ruthless as it’s ever been and this guy Dan ain’t gonna be a bag of laughs for any of us. Cheers and good luck. AGB
The South Africa operations shutdown comes to Europe?
After SA operations shutdown more EU subsidiaries (Cyprus, Greece, Ireland) will shutdown their operations as company management cares about their bonuses and their own interests.
Any thoughts on this?

ADP was great to work for when I first started 14 years ago.
It slowly became more and more of a drag on morale as we cycled through one after another managers, directors and VPs.
The last of which were only focused on themselves and the choir of supplicants that sang the same tune. Alas I got tired of hearing it all. I was rather surprised when my director and an HR person scheduled a meeting to let me know my services were no longer needed.
No warning whatsoever just a thank you and a well wishes to not let the door hit me on the way out.
I guess that’s why they don’t have as people with more than 3 years tenure.
Any more layoffs happened today?
Any laid offs happened on Friday?
TriMet
TriMet's eliminating about 68 positions, including at least 26 layoffs, to close a 300 million dollar shortfall. Job cuts come alongside transit service reductions.
Providence Swedish Layoffs 2025
Providence Swedish is cutting 150 to nearly 300 positions across Seattle and Puget Sound. The co is restructuring clinics, insurance operations, and administrative units.
85 workers in Gallatin face temporary layoffs just before Thanksgiving.
Not good timing at all
Why are we even discussing layoffs?
They’ve been a never-ending affair for a long time.
I wish for an alternate reality where none of us had to live in permanent existential dread.
