Lotta hot air and a whole lot of inaction. “Thinking about” volunteering (some people are trying to stay, while you have to ASK to be let go?) does nothing and earns you no points among the rest of us. You say the same sh-t every RIFmas and continue to hog 1 more headcount for a job you don’t even fu--ing need.

I don't have any worry about a RIF, but I won't stay around if it happens near me. Its been 20 years, and I have lost too many friends. I don't have many left. Any of them go, I go. Work is easy to find.

dont listen to those things. maybe they are trying to encourage you to volunteer. to each their own. I learned in working in corporate that coworkers are not your friends. you have to keep your plans and what you are thinking to yourself and put a fake face. just do your work and go home. take a vacation, etc.

I'm thinking too @OP. Its' soo stressful! I'm 66 with 2.5 in the bank but I'd like to keep working because I feel I have more to offer so lay off!
