4th year, 4th restructuring/layoff, it’s over

I’m just frustrated that they keep cutting and cutting roles, to stack responsibility on top of someone else is work load…then decide make you fight for a open role in a “hunger games” like ritual where you go against your colleagues. This whole thing takes a month long mind you. Then if you’re lucky to be the one they picked, poof, restructuring 6 months down the road. Su-ks

Listen finally

Maybe all the downvoting and “you’re crazy” commenting people trolling us will listen. This is easily the 8th time this site has accurately reported when layoffs would occur. It’s not to panic people. It’s to help us prepare. Prepare for transitioning, finances, prepare resumes, start looking at job market. While some may already be doing that, many have a wild fear of change and don’t.

Please let this be your wake up call. You need to be plugged in to your network, expanding it, strengthening it. You need to be touching your resume every couple weeks.

More layoffs today

XOC, Construction and Headend are on the cutting block this time being told immediately to go home and they will be paid till March and start applying. I know CMO and supervisors and below are affected. This one so far seems to be a lot more quiet than the removal of divisions.

100+

lululemon let go of 100 part-time workers who helped answer customer questions by phone, email, and chat.

These workers helped people every day, but the company decided it wants to use only full-time workers for this job instead.

Lululemon says this change will help them do a better job helping customers and make the business run more smoothly.

This is happening while the company is also looking for a new boss and dealing with some disagreements with its founder.

no store closures, just changes to how customer help is done.

Prepare for the big one

TD Cowen had a data center themed analyst letter today that said that Oracle may lay off 20-30,000 people or sell Cerner to keep up with the debt on the data centers it’s building for OpenAI. It also says multiple US banks have pulled back from Oracle data center deals.

How's that pink Kool-Aid tasting

Ya'll lapped up the pink Kool-Aid like it was champagne. Ya'll believed Legere when he said TMO would "be job-positive from Day 1" after they gobbled up Sprint. Truth is they started laying off on Day 1.

Mmmm, that pink Kool-Aid seems to be going sour. But, go on to the next all hands meeting and rah rah.

Massive layoff last Friday affected hundreds of UHC employees

For those who may not be aware, there was a massive layoff at UHC last Friday in which hundreds of leaders were let go. The layoffs affected employees in Customer Service, Service Account Management, Directors, Business Analysts, Quality, and many other departments.

This was a quiet layoff, but it impacted many people who had been with the company for years. It appears to be part of the new CEO’s focus on restoring profitability after the significant losses following BT’s death.

This week, several sessions were held for those who were laid off, and it was heartbreaking to see so many people who were proud of their work starting the year now forced to search for new jobs. Many of them are young professionals and breadwinners for their families. While some are hoping to secure another internal position to remain with the company, the reality is that very few will be able to do so.

We are in an extremely unstable job market, and this decision has been devastating for hundreds of now-former employees. Be prepared for additional layoffs, as many roles are being sent offshore, and the introduction of AI is expected to eliminate even more positions in 2026.

Anyone here who tried to leave the company accept a counter offer to stay?

Have another job opportunity elsewhere, just like several of you folks our team is pretty understaffed, and it would be almost impossible to do a knowledge transfer session during my last two weeks. I assume I may get a counter offer, and if the salary is high enough, I’d be okay with staying. Although I’d be concerned that I’d be targeted for the next layoff…. Anyone been in a similar position or any advice?

At least…

At least there was severance provided. So many employees this year got fired for cause (so no benefits no severance not eligible for unemployment). Does the company su-k for this? Certainly. Will they repost our same jobs for 80% less in 6 months. 💯. Take your severance and run. This bank is a sinking ship.

PTO Payout for Displaced is Early and Short?

My non-working notice ends 2/6 but I noticed on upcoming pay slip dated for 1/30 they paid some of my PTO (60 hours). I had 100 hours left when I was displaced in December, and thought I'd accumulate January/February as well. Should I expect another PTO pay out or did something get miscalculated? Everything thread I've seen on this topic mentioned getting PTO payout after your non-working notice ends but I'm seeing it before my notice ends and it's short. Thanks in advance!

The USAA "Loyalty" Lobby: A Post-Mortem

So, the mothership over at USAA finally decided to "loyal" me right out the door. It’s funny, I spent 26 years hearing about "service and sacrifice," I just didn't realize my entire livelihood was the burnt offering for the CEO’s year-end bonus. 🫡💸

Since I'm now a free agent (and by that, I mean I’m officially over-qualified and under-severanced), here’s my guide to the USAA wreckage:

  • The "Remote" Bait-and-Switch: I was hired as a remote employee—a role defined by pajamas and productivity. Then, in a fit of "culture-building" (read: real estate tax breaks), they decided I needed to waste 15 hours a week in San Antonio traffic to sit in a beige box four days a week. Nothing says "innovation" like forcing people into a 1990s office layout to do Zoom calls with people in the next building. 🚗⛽️
  • The Automated Betrayal: I’m honestly surprised my layoff notice didn't come with a pre-approved, high-interest personal loan to cover my final month of rent. "We're nuking your career, but have you considered our award-winning insurance for the house you're about to lose?" It’s not just a layoff; it’s a cross-selling opportunity. 📉
  • Core Values (For Direct Reports Only): I’ve been meditating on "Integrity" while looking at my final pay stub. Turns out, "Service" is a one-way street that ends abruptly at the executive suite. They talk about "The Mission" like it's a calling, then treat the workforce like a line item on a spreadsheet that needed to be deleted to make the "Military City USA" branding look a bit shinier. 🧐
  • The LinkedIn "Synergy" Trap: My new job title is "Recovering Corporate Martyr." I am officially allergic to any company that uses the word "family" as a smokescreen for "we will fire you via a template email if the wind blows sideways." 🏢
  • The Commute-to-Couch Pipeline: I’ve traded the "Business Casual for the Cubicle Farm" look for "Professional Resentment." The commute from my bed to the kitchen is much shorter, and unlike the office, my kitchen doesn't require a badge-in to prove I'm "collaborating" with my toaster.
To my fellow survivors: May your severance be fat, your non-competes be laughed out of court, and your next boss be someone who doesn't think "culture" is synonymous with "parking lot congestion." See you at the virtual happy hour—where the only thing "bundled" is our collective trauma! 🍻✨

Layoffs will commence the December 19,2025 - January 30,2026???

Any truth behind a previous post that claim that layoffs will commence the December 19,2025 - January 30,2026? We are entering the final 3 days of this supposed truth about when layoffs are happening and nothing major has happened. With the stock getting ready to dip below $40 is it possible layoffs could happen sometime soon?

About 130 jobs to be cut at UPS site in Alabama

United Parcel Service is closing a distribution facility in Montgomery, Alabama, resulting in the layoff of 128 employees, according to a filing with Workforce Alabama.
The job cuts are scheduled to begin Feb. 2. The Montgomery closure is part of broader network changes as UPS restructures operations and reduces its U.S. physical footprint.
