With UPMC announcing layoffs today, will Highmark follow? I pray the answer is no.

1 supervisor in WNY blue card claims, 1 in b&e and 2 OCs who supportedh Buffalo claims. We were told at 3pm and were blindsided. Not sure if anyone else was let go. They are ruthless

Heard Highmark did some layoffs on Friday. Do not know the full extent of it but a few people from a team i work with were let go and I heard it was much more than that. Anyone have more information? Are further layoffs coming?

Looks like the layoffs are put on hold for the time being with the acquisition of KC. Hope you all still hanging in there aren't getting abused between doing more with less, major changes to ACA, plus onboarding another Blue on top of it.

Seeing many comments that Highmark not doing so well financially, was there even an AEIP (Incentive) bonus distributed this year (normally in March), or was that scrapped???

Since the WARN Act applies to layoffs affecting more than 500 employees within a 90-day period, and the last major RIF occurred on January 30, May 8 seems like the most likely next date. Best of luck to everyone.

You can only go so far with cuts alone. Unless they actually take action on the business side—and I mean really take action—we’ll reach a point where cuts will outweigh any efforts to turn the ship around.
