Blue KC

Looks like the layoffs are put on hold for the time being with the acquisition of KC. Hope you all still hanging in there aren't getting abused between doing more with less, major changes to ACA, plus onboarding another Blue on top of it.

H1B Visa to cost 100k

Wonder how this will effect EnGen and Highmark??? It applies to H‑1B visa applicants who are outside the U.S. seeking new entry or visa issuance. The rule requires that, for an H‑1B petition to be accepted (or, more precisely, for visa issuance /... — read more

Highmark WNY meeting in claims department next week to give info on departmental restructuring... Corporate email today informing the collaboration with other companies on prior auths and UM getting more streamlined. Merging Thryve with Engen... — read more

Feeling extremely grateful ☺️

I was let go in 2025. I cannot begin to tell you how awesome life is now that I no longer work for such a toxic company (enGen). It wasn’t always this terribly toxic although was always cute throat once we merged with PGH. I would say it became... — read more

Medicaid cuts

There's going to be a great big beautiful layoff with these proposed Medicaid cuts. Between that, and hearing Independence BCBS will be gone this month, it's a good time for prayers.

Severence Question

If you get laid off and get a severence, do they take a 401k deposit off of that last severence check?

Hybrid workers - mandated on site soon

Just heard from a reliable leadership source that workers designated as 'hybrid' will be required to be on site Tuesday thru Thursday beginning June 24. So if you need to find daycare or after school care or buy an additional vehicle, good luck. ... — read more

Different work standards for the U.S. and India.

I enjoy how India can have kids crying in the background, watching their kids while working, scrub and vacuum the house, have music playing in the background while on calls with customer representatives, have Taylor Swift music on their company owned... — read more

Best and the brightest tossed to the curb

What a way to run a business. Some companies use layoffs to get rid of dead wood. Not this place. They use layoffs to move more and more work to India (cheap labor). What’s the ratio now? If you can get an honest answer. How is the quality? Customer... — read more

Start being honest on Surveys

I’m honestly frustrated with commenters talking about poor management and no one is being honest with surveys. The surveys should all be low scoring because I would not recommend this company to anyone. Avoid avoid avoid!!!! Once the glint survey... — read more

LAYOFFS TODAY?

I heard more layoffs today? Can anyone confirm? This is getting out of hand.

Layoffs

What departments are we thinking layoffs will apply to? I’ve been thinking pended claims since they have no work and get paid to do nothing. Also thinking some in provider services. Being union, i’m not sure if they can layoff those who are apart of... — read more

Selling out America

It’s sad when American business men sell out their own country to allegedly save a dime. Clients aren’t buying the “blended rate” bullcr-p. You get what you pay for. If someone offshore is only billing $10/ hour vs $100/hour for onshore ... — read more

When is the next layoff?

Anyone know when the next round is for sure? And any areas or roles targeted? I heard some speculation around May 8 but I don't have any contacts who could verify this.

Highmark/enGen vs Thryve quality

Are any teams tracking work quality in term of defects, efficiency, independence for Highmark vs Thryve? Might be one of the good questions to ask to our leaders. Benefit coding work is split between Highmark and Thryve and I see more work going... — read more

Highmark AEIP (Incentive) Bonus

Seeing many comments that Highmark not doing so well financially, was there even an AEIP (Incentive) bonus distributed this year (normally in March), or was that scrapped???

Will the next big layoff will be May 8?

Since the WARN Act applies to layoffs affecting more than 500 employees within a 90-day period, and the last major RIF occurred on January 30, May 8 seems like the most likely next date. Best of luck to everyone.

How?

How have we already had three rounds of layoffs, and it’s only March? Is this the new normal? A layoff every month until there’s nobody left? This is beyond ridiculous - it’s outright cruel. This cr-ppy leadership doesn’t care about anything or... — read more

More cuts

Any idea when the cuts will start up again? I know we're in the clear for now, but let’s be real, this break isn’t gonna last forever. Just wondering how long we’ve got.

Where’s the breaking point?

You can only go so far with cuts alone. Unless they actually take action on the business side—and I mean really take action—we’ll reach a point where cuts will outweigh any efforts to turn the ship around.

I don't feel relieved

I know I should feel relieved since I still have a job, but that doesn’t seem like a positive anymore. My workload has grown heavier after every round of layoffs, and I have no doubt it will happen again now that we’ve lost more people. I’m already... — read more
