@cc Yeah but I feel like that's WHY they are closing smaller satellite offices... They WANT those people who were previously going in to quit.
Unfortunately, my bada$$ manager - well, was until last year when they demoted managers - went to a hub in a major central TX city and they closed that down. So now she/he is full remote by force, and due to that are no longer eligible for promotion as they are remote now. She/he has a family and like most, is not going to rip their children out of their schools and friend groups to move to Austin on their own dime. Let alone do that with the layoff frenzy Dell has been in for the last 8 years...
Essentially, I think it's on purpose. They obviously can see how many employees utilize xyz building and my guess is, depending on the number of ppl along with WHO uses it, they either keep it open or shut it down.
