Have another job opportunity elsewhere, just like several of you folks our team is pretty understaffed, and it would be almost impossible to do a knowledge transfer session during my last two weeks. I assume I may get a counter offer, and if the salary is high enough, I’d be okay with staying. Although I’d be concerned that I’d be targeted for the next layoff…. Anyone been in a similar position or any advice?

Use your head. Look at how they treat their employees. If you have to use another offer just to get a raise from them.....you have your answer. Life is too short to work for people with no brains, no ba--s or no character.
@f5 this !!! Once false move and you could be fired like the Donald used to do on the Apprentice.
LEAVE!!! Move on, nobody needs that sh-tshow.
High performer here (mostly got 4s in ratings before this year's change... Tried 3 times leaving TIAA and coming back ... no manager counter offered me to stay. Tread lightly as they could just fire you on the spot.
Hi...I would leave.
..they might pay you now to stay but you will not get raises and large bonuses in the future...also think about why you were looking for a new job in the first place...sounds like it wasn't just because of more money
@ab same here, Your certainly not alone. I got mine within the last 24 months.
@c3 within the last 18 months.
@ab How long ago was that? Was that before or after T? Timelines matter
Leave! If the company actually values you; they would have already been paying you the higher salary
Bounce and keep it moving
Take the new job and don’t look back.
Don't do it, had a buddy that did this and yes, while he was able to get a better job offer his manager made sure that his time was difficult after. Ultimately he ended up quitting largely due to the way his manager switched up on him after
I was able to get a good increase when I mentioned my job offer to my manager. If you enjoy your current job, mention thr offer to your manager, they will appreciate it and work with you if the can.
Taking a counter offer is almost always a bad idea.
The company will be looking for a replacement and you’ll be managed out or laid off when that happens.
Everyone is replaceable regardless of the skill set.
Do it. Try and squeeze as much money as you can. Don't think them firing you later on would be concern if you are as valuable as you say you are. They would rather pay a bit more to keep you than lose you
