Remember to double check/adjust your taxes if the severance package you received will push you beyond what you would have earned this year, or you will run the chance of having a bigger than expected liability at tax time next year.

Pay discrepancy
Anyone notice this year their pay seems a bit lighter? I'm all for not having to pay at tax season but in this economy I'm not willing to wait until 2027 to get my money back from the government. Would prefer payroll figures out their error and fixes it.
Merit roll outs this week
Heard they are withholding them from everyone not getting atleast an overall of meet’s expectations
Severance credited. Laptop not returned yet
US, separation date 9/22/25.
My severance pay got credited to my bank account yesterday. I haven't returned the laptop yet 😳 Anyone else get their pay?
Credited amount is ~25% less than severance amount mentioned in the separation agreement. I don't know the deductions, but I know payroll deductions & taxes would be deducted from it.
Last paper payslip I received is for the period ending on 9/5/25.
14 Years Down The Drain
I was let go today after being with the bank 14 years. Curious if I was targeted to prevent a potential much bigger severance at 15 years.
Is there a way to change withholding to have less taxes taken out of severance?
Although I'm not surprised because I've watched things change for the worse. But I didn't see it coming because there are other job openings in my department. Same old sad story of a decent employee who thought they'd retire with the bank.
