UK is Doomed

Captain Mainwaring ordered his beleaguered troops to work harder to get yet another 0% pay rise. Nice work DA, that was a masterclass in how to p1ss off your staff even more. Maybe this clown should look in the mirror and realise he is the problem? All he’s overseen is contract run-offs and now they are drying up, nothing is coming in. Funny that but it’s all the poor employees fault for not working hard enough. No Captain, it’s your set up, your cronies and your skills at trying to run the company as a military set up that’s failing. It’s not hard, look after your staff and the rest will look after itself. We’re not 16 year old squaddies standing in line taking your orders. Dismissed…


Whoever managed or designed LDAP or domain should get fired

that’s it. I lost access to VPN. Got instruction to reset my password. The instruction is sitting behind the VPN. WTH! I need to open a service support. Opened it, sorry it requires VPN. WTH!

I cannot reset the password with the last 24 or 25 times i have used. WTH! Does it help security? Doubt it

I have to do it every 3 months. That means I can reuse the 1st password after 6 years.

What such a stuxxd design!


Lost cause

Once was a time I was proud to work at VZ. In the matter of two short years It turned into a sh-tshow I blame my director for hiring supervisors without a clue in the world how the world works or how to turn a wrench. GET THESE GUYS OUT! p.s. I would bring my concerns up to my supervisor but the retaliation at this company is real. RIP VERIZON ON TO THE NEXT


To the managers: I will remember you

I have about 6 names I have filed away deep into memory, and I have a very long memory. There is a small chance that one day in the future your name will cross my desk and I will remember you. I will remember how you lied, manipulated and gamed the system to stack rank good people to force them out the door. I will remember your lack of ethics. If that day ever comes know this: I will remember you, and I will be sure to exert whatever influence I have to reciprocate after you burned that bridge.

Also know this, there are thousands of others like me who will remember you. They will also remember how Wells Fargo treated them. Eventually the damage to your reputation, and the firms, will catch up to you.


Performance evaluations are just a formality

More of a cover, really, giving higher-ups maneuvering room when deciding on layoffs or firings. They rarely reflect an employee's actual performance, skills, or value to the team. When your number's up, it doesn't matter that your role is critical or that you've excelled for years and know your corner inside out. Nobody's safe. The main guide is profits, and pretty much nothing else matters.


Rewarding a Select Few

Over my time at Fiserv I have noticed one very prominent theme. A select few (often with lackluster work ethic) are rewarded with bonuses, raises, extra privileges, while at the same time the ones actually getting the work done are designated as “work horses” who will get the job done and be told “you are lucky to have this position, with some luck you may see a promotion in a few year!”. They wonder why half the company has silently revolted and the stock is where it is. I have seen people on my team leave for high paying roles and when asked why HR is shocked to find out that they left due to being overworked and under paid. Don’t even get me started on the retention bonuses. My advice to young professionals is this: DO NOT under any circumstances accept being a work horse and yes man. This company does not respect hard work. Ask for more money and ask early, put the pressure on them. Make sure you are applying elsewhere to get counter offers, the market is tough but it can be done.


Toxic stress

Success and failure come from the top down. Abby has to be free falling because the company is getting worse by the day. Just grow a pair and fix the management crisis.

It’s pathetic that anxiety leave is a regular reason for people to be out of work. Life really isn’t that serious and if someone is below grade 5, really why are they stuck with incompetent management that su-ks the soul out of them? This is the company culture at this point.


How is leadership still in charge after this ?

Fidelity National Information Services agreed last week to pay $210 million to settle a lawsuit brought against it by investors over its $35 billion-dollar purchase of the merchant services firm Worldpay, according to a spokesperson for plaintiffs’ lawyers at the firm Labaton Keller Sucharow.
Under terms of the Dec. 17 legal agreement, the recovery is expected to be about 42 cents per “damaged share,” but that amount will be shaved to 32 cents on average, after taking into consideration up to $47.5 million in fees and expenses, plus interest, for the plaintiffs’ lawyers, according to a legal document provided by the spokesperson. The agreement is contingent on court approval.


There hasn’t been a word invented yet that describes how little Jane cares about employees.

She is laughing her @ss off every time she thinks about her 20 million $ raise last year and the 20 million $ the year before that, knowing that YOU are not getting a dime.
All wrapped up in “the bar is raised, you guys need to step it up”. Rest assured she’s got the biggest smile on her face every night she lays down to go to sleep.

Don’t forget, you’re measured on results not attempts. If you don’t execute and complete successfully an already bad idea or direction given by management, lacking resources\headcount or not and that was doomed to fail to begin with, then you fail, not management.


NSM debacle

Who else enjoyed the CA and AG show? I've never heard such self serving drivel! These two have proven to be among the most toxic "leaders" in recent memory. SL is too new to know how bad they really are. Her Jepordy farce was a complete flop. Alex, I'll take "tell us your sales superpower for 2 cents."


I'd leave if I could

I'm only at this place because my wife has a really good job locally. Otherwise, I'd be long gone. I've worked at several of our competitors, and the issues here are something else entirely. It's like everybody who's here is either just starting out, actively looking to leave, or trapped like I am. It all boils down to management creating an impossible situation for everyone trying to do the work.


Blowing Money

Isn’t it hilarious? They cut hours at the stores while launching these shiny new markets, just slapping lipstick on a pig with mismatched fixtures from the clearance aisle. Meanwhile, they’re pouring millions into those fancy light-up signs for the golden stores. When will they realize that all the flashy visuals in the world won’t help if there’s no one around to assist the customers? People have already started to stop showing up—do they really think those big lighted boxes will bring them back in?


I just can't be bothered anymore

Reorgs, layoffs, shuffling people around, ignoring bad management but punishing talent, directionlessness, maintenance/decay mode - all of it has made me completely uninterested in the future of Nike, and definitely in my job. I just can't care anymore. If someone had told me eight years ago when I came on board that this would turn into a "just collect a paycheck" thing, I wouldn't have believed them. It's actually sad.


Handling a lack of support

My manager sided with a rude customer today, even though he knew I followed all the correct procedures. He then expected me to just forget the whole interaction happened. It is incredibly discouraging and makes the job feel impossible. I am considering how to document this pattern for a discussion with HR next week. Has anyone dealt with a similar failure of leadership?


Above the “policy”

So just to get this straight - there aren’t “remote work weeks” but leaders can just randomly work remote for a day here or there? If they are responding to work emails and engaging in work with their team then they are technically working right? Which means they aren’t taking PTO. Isn’t that remote work? Meanwhile I am expected to be IN the office?

Who is monitoring this? The timecard and attendance piece? Or do rules not apply to “so called” leaders? Asking for a friend and my colleagues who actually follow the rule. Just curious if we should start calling the “speak up but you won’t be heard line.”


State Farm growth is tanking

We haven't really grown any new policies since July. It's going to get a lot worse. We are too expensive and can't afford to pay agents commission anymore since they account for about 30% of our expense ratio. People are not buying houses or new cars and putting their groceries on their credit cards. Broke. Plus our brand su-ks! Our current round of Execs are wannabes! They are only interested in profits over people. Nothing else as they despise employees and see you as a burden. Greed, incompetence, and unethical leadership defines this organization now and the culture that MT brought in is just a cancer that is slowly ki-ling the patient. In the next 5-10 years SF will become just a shell of itself and a story of what not to do in business. Place is and will always be a sh-t hole.

The only laughter is about how bad things are

You can tell the state of a workplace by what people joke about. The only time you hear people genuinely laugh or smile is when someone's making a joke about how terrible things are or complaining about management. It's the one form of morale we have left, I guess.


This company is hemorrhaging money

The company is so poorly managed , they overpay management, they allow these techs to take home there trucks , I see cable trucks parked in one location sometimes for 2-3 hrs , here’s an idea why don’t you take back contractor work and give it to in-house techs


At some point we have to say the quiet part out loud. This leadership has a proven track record of destroying value.

Under Stankey’s watch, AT&T lit tens of billions of dollars on fire. DirecTV was acquired for roughly $49B and later dumped at a fraction of that value. Time Warner was bought for about $85B, then spun off just a few years later after massive write downs, leaving shareholders with years of dead money and zero strategic payoff. Even the failed T-Mobile saga cost AT&T billions in breakup fees and spectrum giveaways.

Fast forward to today.
$20B in stock buybacks executed while the stock falls and analysts downgrade it to sell.
Operating costs rising due to five day RTO.
Bonuses at risk.
And now a brand new office campus being built from the ground up for no measurable business benefit.

This is a pattern, not bad luck. Buy high. Sell low. Spend big. Then double down instead of course correcting.

Employees see it. Wall Street sees it. The market has priced it in. Continuing to trust the same leadership to make yet another massive capital decision is reckless.

How many more billions need to be burned before accountability finally shows up?


Enjoy your new safety standard

The veep of corporate environment and his analyst are certified donkeys. Operations and maintenance now have one standard for safety while lab personnel have another. The double standard is bad enough but the actual standard is stupid as well. This will not improve safety and will only deter anyone from wanting to do more for safety. Mark my words, off shift, places that are rarely visited,they will follow this as much as people follow the no looking at your phone rule or the use hand rails rule. They should be fired immediately but they won't. Bilbo will probably give them all promotions saying they saved everyone. Stupid people making stupid rules.


Completely Tone Deaf and Incompetent Leadership

The leadership at AT&T is non existent. The fact they would announce building a new corporate campus than will likely cost upwards of $2 Billion while continuing to layoff hardworking, valuable employees is disgraceful. I’m sure this new campus will have all the wonderful features and amenities to highlights its lavish lifestyle existence while the peasant who are so graciously allowed to keep their jobs work in spaces that are old and filthy. Dirty bathrooms, paint peeling off walls, dirty carpets etc.

Stankey and the board are complicit in the corruption and incompetence.


Toxic toxic toxic

CVS culture is extremely toxic. I left my job last month! There is nothing but corruption, favoritism and cover ups. I love how some employees can end up on performance plans and then moved to different roles to protect their friends, but others if they’re not friends with the manager are scrutinized and micromanaged! If you’re still working at CVS I pray you find something new very soon.
