Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

@a8 Tell us you never took an economics in politics class without telling us you haven’t. Capitalism has pros and cons. The problem is when capitalism goes unchecked, the wealth gap expands. It also creates monopolies which exploit labor. We did not really become a capitalist nation until the 1930’s. Time will tell how long we can sustain it.

As someone who has worked for dell since the 90s and witnessed ll the phases, this makes me sad to read but it’s true.
To those berating people because they are expressing their opinion and sharing facts too - that cheap red hat made in China that you’re wearing is obviously too tight and affecting your ability to think clearly.

@av I think you have this backwards now. The oligarchs control the government so they will make sure to not let it fail.

There is a lot of US government interference with US Capitalism. Debt and deficit spending which isn't capitalism. A federal reserve saying they want 2% inflation per year which isn't capitalism.

You allow the unproductive parts of the economy to clear; you do not interfere. This is not happening.

@a8 well, since big tech companies got tax breaks for creating jobs, I guess it’s time they started paying double of what they should have been paying, since they are taking jobs away from the economy.
